Description

  Les     fig.    1 à 3     représentent    schématique  ment en profil, en élévation et en coupe par       III-III    de la     fig.    1, la disposition des seg  ments de la première forme d'exécution;  Les     fig.    4 à 6 représentent de façon ana  logue, c'est-à-dire en profil, en élévation et      en coupe par VI-VI de la     f ig.    4, la dispo  sition des segments de la seconde     forme    d'exé  cution de l'appareil;

Lighting apparatus provided with an electric bulb and comprising a device for concentrating at least in a preferential direction at least part of the light rays emitted by this bulb. We already have. proposed lighting devices comprising transparent rings with a triangular cross-section, arranged around an electric lamp, and intended to return the light rays emitted horizontally by the lamp all around the device in order to increase the illumination useful produced by the lamp.

The present invention relates to a lighting apparatus provided with an electric bulb and comprising a device for concentrating at least in a preferential direction at least part of the light rays emitted by this bulb.

This apparatus could, for example, be arranged so as to be able to be used for the lighting of roads, the device with which it is provided in this case returning in the longitudinal direction of the road, horizontally or in a direction slightly inclined on the road. horizontal, at least part of the rays emitted naturally by the lamp in transverse directions.

The apparatus according to the invention is characterized in that the device comprises at least one circular segment, of triangular section made of transparent material, and one of the faces of which is plane and disposed in a plane perpendicular to the aforementioned preferential direction, this segment being arranged so as to reflect the rays which it receives in directions at least approximately perpendicular to the direction of emission.

The appended drawing represents, by way of example, some embodiments of the apparatus according to the invention.

  Figs. 1 to 3 show schematically in profile, in elevation and in section through III-III of FIG. 1, the arrangement of the segments of the first embodiment; Figs. 4 to 6 represent analogously, that is to say in profile, in elevation and in section by VI-VI of f ig. 4, the arrangement of the segments of the second embodiment of the apparatus;

Figs. 7 and 8 schematically show two other embodiments; Fig. 9 shows an embodiment of the apparatus comprising a reflector; Fig. 10 shows an element formed by two segments integral with one another. The apparatus of FIGS. 1 to 3 is intended to see in the preferred directions F and F 'most of the rays emitted by the. light source S of the electric bulb of this appliance.

To this end, the rays sent transversely by the source into zones A and A. ' are sent in the directions F and F 'by means of a device comprising four transparent circular segments 1 and 1', 2 and 2 'assembled in pairs. These segments each have a flat face arranged in a plane perpendicular to the directions F and F 'and are arranged so as to reflect totally in the directions F and IF' the rays such as SI or SI ', originating from the light source S constituted by the filament of the bulb.

The rays are reflected in directions at least approximately perpendicular to the emission direction, as can be seen from the drawing. These segments can have as great a development as you want, that is to say surround the bulb of the device at an angle rx (fig. 2) depending on the useful effect that one wants to obtain.

It will be understood that when the device which has just been described is intended for the lighting of a road, the preferred directions F, F 'will be the longitudinal directions of the road, and that one will deviate in these directions. the rays emitted transversely by the light source of the bulb and which would illuminate only the sides of the road, and consequently would not present any useful effect for the purpose in question.

The apparatus of FIGS. 4 to 6 is intended for the illumination of a road and to concentrate most of the light in the preferred directions F and F 'inclined with respect to the road and sy metric with respect to a vertical plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the road. The inclination of the directions F and F 'is determined by the points furthest from the road that the device must still illuminate. This apparatus comprises for this purpose a device comprising two pairs of segments 1-l 'and 2-2'.

The segments of each pair are arranged symmetrically with respect to the aforementioned vertical plane, which passes through the source S of the bulb. The pairs of segments are arranged symmetrically with respect to a vertical plane passing through the source S and containing the directions F and F. The plane faces of the segments 1 and 2 are in a plane perpendicular to the preferential direction F and the plane faces segments l 'and 2' in a plane perpendicular to direction F.

The segments of a pair are therefore inclined with respect to each other.

The pairs of segments of the device of the apparatus of FIGS. 4 to 6 are worn by mounts. These frames are arranged so that it is possible to adjust the height position of each pair of segments with respect to the light source of the bulb and to adjust the inclination of the segments of each pair with respect to each other. the other.

The mounts of the pairs of segments could, in this apparatus, be fixed on the socket of the bulb in a manner analogous to that shown in fig. 8, for example. This device could also include a reflector surrounding the bulb, and in this case, the mounts of the pairs of segments could be fixed on the edge of this reflector, in a manner analogous to that shown in FIG. 9.

The electric bulb could have a specially studied fi lament, that is to say not collected annularly, but arranged in suitably chosen planes.

One could also join the segments of a pair, so as to form a single element, as shown in fig. 10.

Fig. 7 shows an apparatus in which each segment of the device is forcibly engaged in a bush 3, of profile corresponding to the section of the segment, articulated at 4 on a bar 5 itself articulated at 6 on a rod 7 fixed to a rod. ring 8 secured to socket 9 of the bulb.

Organs 3 'and 5', symmetrical to or ganes 4 and 5, will support the other segment 1 'located on the same side of the bulb, bar 5' also being articulated at 6, and, on the opposite side of the bulb. in the drawing, there will be another rod 7 supporting an identical set.

In the apparatus of FIG. 8, the support rod is itself constituted by two elements 7 and 7ca, the element 7a being adjustable with respect to the element 7, so that the pair of segments is adjustable in height in relation to the light source of the bulb and the inclination of the segments of the pair is also adjustable.

Fig. 9 shows an apparatus comprising a reflector 10 surrounding the bulb and on the edge of which is fixed by a clamp 11, the. mounting of a pair of segments comprising two branches 12 and 13, articulated at 14 and 15 to allow adjustment and adaptation to bulbs of various types.
