Description

Light-sensitive material with a light filter for dark color photography using the color screen, one screen or subtractive method. The invention relates to a light-sensitive material provided with a light filter for multicolor photography according to the color raster, lens raster or subtractive method, which is characterized .. that the light filter consists of a layer containing colloidal silver.

It is known to insert filter interlayers, which are colored with dyes, into photographic multilayer material for the purpose of color photography. To color these layers, suitable organic dyes are preferably used; it is also known to use colored inorganic salts for this purpose.

The latter, however, can only be used in a limited number, the former in turn for the most part have properties that make them unsuitable for use for the special purpose. Influencing the photographic emulsion, migrating from one layer to the others by diffusion, not completely destructible, etc. It can be said that there is hardly any organic dye or inorganic pigment that is completely harmless to the highly sensitive layers in which they are embedded as intermediate layers.

If the material provided with filter layers is subjected to reversal development, then, without any particular disadvantages, substantial dyes can be used which are destroyed by the reversal baths. However, these dyes are not applicable if, for example, by colored development before the use of the bleaching bath, image dyes are generated because the usual sharp reversal baths, eg. B. chromic acid or potassium permanganate, these image dyes are destroyed or at least severely damaged ge.

Filter layers which meet all the requirements placed on them, i.e. in all cases in which they are brought into contact or composite with a halogen silver emulsion layer, are resistant to diffusion and are photographically different, can be obtained if colloidal silver with a suitable degree of dispersion is used Gelatine is distributed and the filter slide is made with it. In this way, under certain working conditions, light yellow to garnet red filters can be produced.

Although it is known to use intermediate layers of silver or exposed emulsion in multilayer films that are processed by the reverse process, it was not the optical properties of a colloidal silver layer that were used, but the catalytic effect of silver, overdiffusing dyes in the development to destroy. It is also known to use colloidal silver of as dark a color as possible for the production of antihalation layers in reversal films, but the production of light filters which are arranged on, under or between emulsion layers of a color photographic recording material is new.

Such filter layers are absolutely free of diffusion and under no circumstances can they damage the emulsions above or below. Furthermore, the silver can be removed by any silver dissolving bath without the dyes suffering.

These layers can be produced by using a suitable known method, for example by reducing silver nitrate in alkaline media by means of organic reducing agents such as dextrin, hydroquinone, etc. to produce a silver sol of a suitable color and pouring this into the gelatin solution. The gelatin solution is then made to solidify, cut into strips and the inorganic or organic soluble compounds are rinsed out. Then only the pure colloidal silver remains in the gelatin.

Such gelatin solutions can then be applied in the usual way to a coated or non-coated substrate.

Example1: A color receiving material consists, for example, of a layer substrate that is first coated with a panchromatic layer that contains a component for a blue-green dye, onto which an orthochroniatically sensitized one is Poured layer containing a dye former for red. On top of this sits a layer of colloidal silver, the size of which is expediently adjusted so that the blue portion of the light is filtered off.

The last layer is an unsensitized one-component with a dye component for construction. After exposure and reversal, such a film can either be developed in color or converted into colored images using a diazo process.

Example 2: Another material suitable for color photographic recordings consists of a grain screen, line screen or lens screen film, in which between the screen and eniulsioiigseliie, bt or at any other point on the Lielitweg before the emulsion pushes a layer of colloidal silver is cast in a particle size that the absorption can be adjusted according to the sensitization, so that it is possible

a correction of the recording conditions as desired, for example for art resp. Daylight.
