Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung von 4,4'-Diisopropyl-6,6'-diaminostilben-2,2'-disulfonsäure. Es wurde gefunden, dass 4,4'-Diisopropyl- 6,6'-diaminostilben-2,2'-disulfocisäure herge stellt werden kann, wenn 4-Isopropyl-6-nitro- 1-methylbenzol-2-sulfonsäure mit Oydations- mitteln und die erhaltene 4,4'-Diisopropyl- 6,6'-dinitrostilben-2,2'-disulfonsäure mit re duzierenden Mitteln behandelt wird.
Die neue 4,4'-Diisopropyl-6,6'-diamino- stilben-2,2'-disulfonsäure stellt ein blassgelbes Pulver dar und ist ein wertvolles Zwischen produkt für die Herstellung von Farbstoffen. Versetzt man in der Kälte 5 cms einer 5 %igen Lösung mit 1 cm' 30 %iger Natron- lauge und 0,5 cms Javellelauge (13,
5 % aktives Chlor), so erhält man eine bräunlich orange gefärbte Lösung, die nach einigem Stehen lassen braun wird.
Zur Oxydation der 4-Isopropyl-6-nitro-l- methylbenzol-2-sulfonsäure können die ver schiedensten Oxydationsmittel verwendet wer den; besonders günstige Resultate erhält man mit einer alkalischen Lösung von Natrium- hypochlorit. Die bei der Oxydation sich bildende 4,4'- Diisopropyl - 6,6'- dinitrostilben - 2,2'- disulfon- säure, selbst- ein wertvolles Zwischenprodukt für die Herstellung von Farbstoffen, kann zum Beispiel in an sich bekannter Weise durch Einwirkung der verschiedensten Re duktionsmittel,
wie zum Beispiel Eisen und Essig- oder Salzsäure, in die 4,4'-Diisopropyl- 6,6'-diaminostilben-2,2'-disulfonsäure überge führt werden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 72 Teile des 3Iagnesiumsalzes der 6-Nitro- 4-isopropyl-l-methylbenzol-2-sulfonsäure wer den in 100 Teilen heissem Wasser gelöst und auf 60 0 abgekühlt. Diese Lösung wird zu einer Lösung aus 200 Teilen 30 %iger Natron- lauge und 20 Teilen Natriumhypochlorit (14,2 %ige wässerige Lösung) bei 5<B>0</B> unter kräftigem Rühren gegeben.
Bei 65-70 0 lässt man innert etwa einer Stunde weitere 90 Teile Natriumhypochlorit (14,2 %ige wässerige Lösung) derart zulaufen, dass stets eine schwache Reaktion auf aktives Chlor bestehen bleibt.
Nach weiterem 1/s-stündigem Rühren kühlt man auf Zimmertemperatur ab, versetzt langsam unter Kühlung mit so viel 30 o/oiger Salzsäure, dass das Reaktionsgemisch gegen Phenolphtaleinpapier nicht mehr anzeigt und saugt den orangegelb gefärbten Brei des Na triumsalzes der 6,6'-Dinitro-4,4'diisopropyl- atilben-2,2'-disulfonsäure ab.
Die noch feuchte Paste des dinitrodiiso- propylstilbendisulforrsauren Natriums rührt man mit 200 Teilen Wasser zu einem dünnen Brei an, und stellt ihn durch Zugabe von wenig Mineralsäure schwach kongosauer. Die sen Brei lässt man innert 1/4 Stunde unter Rühren in eine siedende Mischung von 200 Teilen Eisenspänen, 20 Teilen 85 o/oiger Essig säure sowie 500 Teilen Wasser fliessen und kocht unter Rühren etwa eine halbe Stunde. Hierauf kühlt man auf 501 ab, stellt durch Zugabe von calz. Soda schwach alkalisch und filtriert vom abgeschiedenen Eisenschlamm ab.
Das zusammen mit dem Waschwasser etwa 1000-1500 Teile betragende Filtrat scheidet nach Zugabe von konzentrierter Salz säure bis zur kräftig kongosauren Reaktion die echwerlösliche 6,6'-1)iamino-4,4'-diisopro- pyletilben-2,2'-disulfonBäure in Form eines dicken, Massgelben kristallinen Niederschlages aus. Man lässt abkühlen, filtriert und trocknet.

It has been found that 4,4'-diisopropyl-6,6'-diaminostilbene-2,2'-disulfocic acid can be produced when 4-isopropyl-6-nitro-1-methylbenzene-2-sulfonic acid is used with oxidizing agents and the 4,4'-diisopropyl-6,6'-dinitrostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid obtained is treated with reducing agents.
The new 4,4'-diisopropyl-6,6'-diamino-stilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid is a pale yellow powder and is a valuable intermediate product for the production of dyes. If, in the cold, 5 cms of a 5% solution are mixed with 1 cm of 30% sodium hydroxide solution and 0.5 cms of Javelle solution (13,
5% active chlorine), a brownish orange solution is obtained, which turns brown after standing for a while.
Various oxidizing agents can be used to oxidize 4-isopropyl-6-nitro-1-methylbenzene-2-sulfonic acid; Particularly favorable results are obtained with an alkaline solution of sodium hypochlorite. The 4,4'-diisopropyl-6,6'-dinitrostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid which is formed during the oxidation, itself a valuable intermediate for the production of dyes, can be used, for example, in a manner known per se the most varied of reducing agents,
such as, for example, iron and acetic or hydrochloric acid, into which 4,4'-diisopropyl-6,6'-diaminostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid is converted.
<I> Example: </I> 72 parts of the 3-magnesium salt of 6-nitro-4-isopropyl-1-methylbenzene-2-sulfonic acid are dissolved in 100 parts of hot water and cooled to 60 °. This solution is added to a solution of 200 parts of 30% strength sodium hydroxide solution and 20 parts of sodium hypochlorite (14.2% strength aqueous solution) at 5 0 with vigorous stirring.
