Les disques 8 et 9 coopèrent avec des organes semblables qui sont, pour le disque 8': une cheville 12 par laquelle un ressort 13 tend à faire tourner. le disque à l'inverse des aiguilles- d'une montre;
Le fonctionnement de l'installation dé crite est le suivant: Lors .d'une élévation de la température dans la cheminée, les lames 4 et 5 se courbent vers la gauche; la crémaillère 6a décliquète sur la dent 11 sans l'entraîner, tandis que la crémaillère 6 pousse devant elle, par sa première dent, la dent 10 du disque 8 ;
Installation of. heater. The present invention relates to a heating installation with a combustion chamber with a duct for the evacuation of hot gases -and comprising a movable shutter in front of an opening for the admission of air into this duct and means for automatic adjustment. of the position of this shutter. This installation is characterized. in that the aforesaid adjustment means operate on the shutter by means of electromagnetic means.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the installation forming the subject of the invention, the single figure of which is a schematic view.
The wall 2 of a chimney 1 has an opening which can be closed by a shutter 3 movable around an axis 3a. In chimney 1 are installed two blades 4 and 5 with bi-metallic properties, shown on the left of the figure and outside the chimney:
At the ends of these blades are articulated cranks 6 and 6a; springs 7, fixed against the leaves 4 and 5, -maintain these racks pressed against guide stops 30 arranged so that these racks are each directed approximately in the mean direction of the arcuate path of the free end of. the blade. corresponding bimetal.
The racks 6 and 6a have latching teeth and cooperate respectively with two discs 8 and 9 by meeting teeth 10. and 11 of these discs: The blades 4 and 5 being assumed here: both move the rack to the left corresponding. during heating, the teeth are turned in opposite directions; one having to act during a warm-up, the other during a. re: cooling of the blades.
The discs 8 and 9 cooperate with similar members which are, for the disc 8 ': a pin 12 by which a spring 13 tends to rotate. the disc counterclockwise;
one, finger 14 meeting a stop 15 to limit this movement, a contact lever 16 integral with the disc and connected by a flexible conductor 17 to a source.20 of direct or rectified current, a contact piece 18 connected to the electronics 19 of a relay, the contactor 21 of which is connected to a source 22.
The corresponding members of the disc 9 are designated by the same numbers assigned to the index a.
The contactors of the relays are connected in such a way that they can respectively control reverse rotations of the same motor 23, the shaft of which controls, by a reduction gear not shown, a rolling drum 24 for a flexible member 25.
One of the strands of this member passes over pulleys 26 and 26a of fixed axes and is attached to the shutter 3 at a point 28 located on one side of the axis 3a, while the other strand passes over a pulley 27 and is attached to the same flap at a point 29 located on the other side of the axis.
The operation of the installation described is as follows: When the temperature rises in the chimney, the blades 4 and 5 bend to the left; the rack 6a clicks into place on the tooth 11 without driving it, while the rack 6 pushes in front of it, by its first tooth, the tooth 10 of the disc 8;
The things are adjusted so that this tooth 10 escapes, under the action of the spring 13, before the rack has completed one step, so that the tooth 11 falls back between the first and the second tooth.
During its first movement, the disc 8 brought the lever 16 into contact with the part 18; as a result, the contactor 21 has closed the circuit of the motor which has turned in the direction in which the point 28 of the shutter is pulled by the flexible member which winds to the right and unwinds to the left of the drum.
This opens shutter 3 which then gives access to fresh air in the chimney to reduce the draft. This also decreases the air intake under the grate of the fireplace so that, if the shutter has been opened too much due to too long contact at 16-18, the blades cool; the rack 6a ren against by its last tooth tooth 11 of the say 9 which will control the closing of the shutter.
The relays can include devices determining the duration of each of their closings, so that at each contact determined by the racks, the shutter closes or opens at a determined angle.
In a working installation, blades 4 and 5 will ordinarily be flexed by about half of their maximum flex angle.
In certain embodiments, the blades 4 and 5 could be replaced by metal pressure gauges. One or the other could also be installed outside the chimney or 'from any environment the temperature of which depends on the combustion in the installation, for example in the open air,
so that the draft is regulated by atmospheric conditions rather than by the temperature in the chimney.
It is understood that a single blade could carry the two reverse racks, the two discs then being, for example, arranged along the same axis.
