Description

Device for the evacuation of gases, dust, etc. contained in the engine cover of a motor vehicle. The object of the invention is a device for the evacuation of gases, dust, etc. contained in the engine hood of a motor vehicle. It is characterized by a pipe originating under the bonnet of the engine, extending longitudinally to the vehicle and opening at its other end into an outlet nozzle for the exhaust gases of the engine, the whole arranged so that the exhaust of the engine gases causes the aspiration and evacuation of said gases, dust, etc. hood.

In the accompanying drawing, given by way of example: FIG. 1 shows a side view of an automobile chassis fitted with the device which is the subject of the invention, and FIG. 2 is a plan view.

In the example shown, the device comprises a pipe 1 which opens out towards the upper part of the hood of the vehicle shown and its purpose is to evacuate the gases, hot air and dust in suspension in this region of the hood. Hose 2, on the other hand, opens at the lower part, flush with the engine floor and is intended to evacuate gas, dust, etc. that remain in this region of the hood. The evacuation of these gases, etc. has the effect of eliminating odors which could otherwise penetrate inside the bodywork. The pipes 1 and 2 meet in 3 where they are connected in a sealed manner to the pipe 4, which goes towards the rear of the frame where it opens into an exhaust nozzle 6.

In this exhaust nozzle 6 also opens the exhaust pipe 5 of the engine and the arrangement is such that the exhaust of these gases sucks, through pipes 1, 2 and 4, gases, dust, etc. contained in the engine cover.

The location of the piping can be other than that shown in the drawing, i.e. pipes 1, 2 and 4 can be placed on the right as well as on the left of the frame and even in the longitudinal axis of the latter, Depending on the power of the engine, the terie pipe may include several suction pipes such as 1 and 2 and of appropriate profiles.
