Description

  

  Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Kondensationsproduktes.    Es wurde gefunden, dass man ein neues  Kondensationsprodukt erhält, wenn man auf       4-Benzoylamino-3,2'-dimethylazobenzol    1     Mol     des     Benzoesäure-3.5-disulfochlorids    in Gegen  wart von     Pyridin    einwirken lässt. Das neue  Produkt bildet eine dunkle; zähflüssige Masse,  die sich in kaltem Wasser klar auflöst und  zum Bedrucken der pflanzlichen Faser ver  wendet werden kann, indem gelbbraune Drucke  erzielt werden.

      <I>Beispiel:</I>    1,65 Teile     4-Benzoylamino-3,2'-dimethyl-          azobenzol    werden mit 2,3 Teilen     Benzoesäure-          3.        5-disulfochlorid    in 30 Teilen     Pyridin    3 Stun  den auf 110-115   erhitzt, wonach das un  lösliche Ausgangsprodukt in Wasser löslich  geworden ist: Hierauf destilliert man das     Pyri-          din    im Vakuum     weitgehendst    ab. Den Rück  stand nimmt man mit 100 Teilen Methyl  alkohol auf, filtriert von wenig unlöslicher  Substanz ab und dampft das Filtrat wieder-    um ein. Man erhält so ein dunkles, zähflüssi  ges Produkt, das sich in kaltem Wasser klar  auflöst.

   Beim Erwärmen der wässerigen Lö  sung und beim Versetzen: derselben mit ver  dünnter     Natriumcarbonatlösung    erfolgt rasch  Spaltung, wobei sich das Spaltungsprodukt  als der Ausgangsfarbstoff erweist.

It has been found that a new condensation product is obtained if 1 mol of benzoic acid-3,5-disulfochloride is allowed to act on 4-benzoylamino-3,2'-dimethylazobenzene in the presence of pyridine. The new product forms a dark one; viscous mass that dissolves clearly in cold water and can be used for printing on vegetable fibers by producing yellow-brown prints.

      <I> Example: </I> 1.65 parts of 4-benzoylamino-3,2'-dimethyl-azobenzene are heated to 110-115 for 3 hours with 2.3 parts of benzoic acid 3.5-disulfochloride in 30 parts of pyridine , after which the insoluble starting product has become soluble in water: The pyridine is then largely distilled off in vacuo. The residue is taken up in 100 parts of methyl alcohol, little insoluble substance is filtered off and the filtrate is evaporated again. This gives a dark, viscous product which dissolves clearly in cold water.

   When the aqueous solution is heated and when it is mixed with dilute sodium carbonate solution, cleavage occurs rapidly, with the cleavage product proving to be the starting dye.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Konden sationsproduktes, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man auf 4-Benzoylamino-3,2'-dirnethylazo- benzol 1 Mol des Benzoesäure-3.5-disulfo- chlorids in Gegenwart von Pyridin einwirken lässt. Das neue Produkt bildet eine dunkle, zähflüssige Masse, die sich in kaltem Wasser klar auflöst und zum Bedrucken der pflanz lichen Faser verwendet werden kann, indem gelbbraune Drucke erzielt werden.
