Description

Method and device for treating metal sheets in liquids. It is already known, in the treatment of sheet metal in liquids, e.g. B. when pickling, rinsing or the like to somehow move these panels in the liquid. Such lifting, pendulum or other move- ments have been given to the metal sheets by their carrier, which means that this means of movement in the liquid, eg. B. stain, dip; furthermore, the sensitive edges of the sheets on which these agents attack are damaged under the effect of these movements.

As a result, the means of transport and movement such as pickling baskets, carrying handles, are exposed to chemical influences and are therefore subject to considerable wear. Costly repairs and an interruption in operations are the result.

Good results have been achieved with the continuous chemical treatment of sheet metal in the form of long strips, with the individual strips then being welded to one another. This process can also be carried out by welding the shorter metal sheets to be treated together to form a strip. However, such a method is quite cumbersome for sheet formats, requires considerable costs for the welding connections and results in a considerable amount of scrap due to the cutting of these welded connections after the treatment.

In the method according to the invention, the disadvantages in the known methods are easily eliminated by using this method for treating metal sheets in liquids, eg. B. in pickling, rinsing or the like, in which the metal sheets moved along guides through the liq fluid and to protect the Füh ments and the metal sheets the latter during their passage through the liq fluid through the latter even from the Füh ments at least on the front part To achieve a lift on the sheet metal panels are lifted. This buoyancy of the metal sheets can be achieved in various ways. will.

Several devices suitable for carrying out the method according to the invention are illustrated in the drawings for example and schematically. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the liquid container of a first embodiment of the device, FIG. 2 shows a cross section along the line 11-II of FIG. 1 on a larger scale,

Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section according to a slightly different embodiment with a conveyor device according to Fig. 1 (from conveyor device only drawn conveyor arms), Fig. 4 is a longitudinal section according to a white direct embodiment, Fig. 5 is a longitudinal section through the liq sigkeitsbehält a fourth embodiment of the device, Fig. 6 is a partial plan view.

on the same, FIG. 7 shows a section along the line VII-VII of FIG. 5 on a larger scale. In Fig. 1, 1 is a trough which serves to receive the treatment liquid; 3 are upwardly directed nozzles of a supply line for a: Medium, z. B. compressed air, steam or treatment liquid.

The jets emerging from the nozzles generate an upward movement of the treatment liquid, which in turn exerts a buoyancy on the sheet metal panels. The direction of the flow can be controlled by guide surfaces 4 made of suitable material.

At 5, the metal sheets, which were previously released by a retaining flap 6, are placed in the bath and guided along the guide members 12 under the influence of the carrying liquid flow through the tub to the exit point 7, where they are removed from pressure rollers 8 and conveyor rollers.

In order to regulate the speed of the sheet metal through the bath, drive rods, respectively conveyor arms 9 are provided, which are attached to two side by side on ordered endless chains of a conveyor arranged above the tub ver binding cross bars 11. The guide members 12 have flanges 13 which are arranged at a certain distance from each other, so that the metal sheets in the guide members have a certain amount of play.

From Fig. 2 it can be seen how the metal sheets in the guide members 12 are kept floating GE by the rising liquid flow. These guide links are made of material that is not attacked by the chemicals in the bath.

Underneath the guide members, in the event that the liquid flow is temporarily absent, continuous longitudinal guides 14 are provided as supporting and holding members, which prevent the metal sheets from sagging downwards and from the guide members due to it sliding out, and the for Avoid eddy formation are formed in a flow technically favorable cross-section.

In order to prevent the metal sheets from bending and escaping upwards in the event of an excessively strong flow of liquid, safety rods 15 are provided as further holding members which, together with the conveying or driving rods 9, are attached to the transverse rods 11 of the chains 10 are attached. The supporting and holding members, safety bars 15 and longitudinal guides 14, are arranged so that

that these links are not touched when the sheets run normally. 16 with a Spülvorrich device is referred to, by means of the remnants of chemical mixers that settle at the tips of the rods 9, are removed by flushing with water.

From Fig. 2 it can also be seen that the tub 1 is wider than it corresponds to the spacing of the guide members 12 from one another, so that the liquid quantities rising in the middle can flow off on the side and at the ends of the tub, where at they are sucked in again by a specially attached conveyor and pushed through the nozzles 3.

The described device has the following advantages. The sheet metal panels are kept floating by the ascending flow of liquid, forced by the guide links to adhere to a certain path, without their whole weight resting on the edges of the flanges of the guide links and thereby running the risk of being scratched. By means of the driving rods of the conveyor chains arranged outside the bath, they are passed through the treatment liquid at a controllable speed.

If it is a chemical treatment liquid, there are no moving parts in it with the exception of the tips of the driver rods and possibly the tips of the safety rods 15. It is easy to make these parts from material resistant to the chemicals in the bath to execute. The only moving element that is structurally complicated and particularly easily attacked by acid attack, the conveyor chains 10, are located outside the liquid and the entire device.

The acid tub 1 can also be closed in a simple manner by a cover which only has slots for the entry and exit of the metal sheets and for the passage of the said rods.

In Fig. 3 is shown schematically how the metal sheets are moved by specially curved guide members 17 through the bath so that they have a certain angle of incidence α. The angle of incidence means the angle between the tangent of the curved path at the support point and the direction of the sheet metal. The forward movement of the metal sheets at this angle of attack lifts the metal sheets from the guide members.

In order to ensure that the metal sheets are reliably lifted off the guide members, the incline of the curved path of the guide members must gradually decrease towards the end of the movement of the metal sheets.

In the embodiment according to FIG. 4, the bath liquid 2 is passed through a special circulating device, which can be designed as a propeller pump 18, for example. can, circulated in the direction of arrows .9., B, where in the trough below the guides 17 'for the metal sheets, an intermediate floor 19 is provided, which leaves openings 19' and 19 "at the ends for the passage of the liquid speed.

The pump 18 is arranged upright in the opening 19 ', but could also be arranged in the opening 19 "or in the channel under the floor 19. As in the first case, the panels are guided by driving rods along guides against the flow of liquid through the The bath is pushed and, thanks to a special arrangement of the driving rods, are given a certain angle of attack from the start, so that they are also kept floating under the influence of the counter-flowing liquid and the forward movement of the driving rod. The board is then only held at one point on the driving rod.

In the embodiments according to FIGS. 3 and 4, the guide members 17 respectively. 17 'only a lower flange, but no upper limit.

The method allows both the sheet metal to float freely through the liq fluid, as well as to limit the pressure on the guide members at any height by regulating the buoyancy of the panels. In order to prevent the boards from tilting in the guides, it may be appropriate to arrange two or more instead of one carrier bar 9, but this does not affect the principle. In addition, reference is made to the combinations possible from the various embodiments.

For example, the partition 19 provided in FIG. 4 can be perforated. If the intended liquid delivery system is then relocated to the inlet side (left side of FIG. 4), due to the overpressure created under the partition 19 through such openings, in which the opening would have to be selected according to the size and shape the liquid flow upwards,

and so, in addition to the buoyancy caused by the angle of attack and horizontal fluid movement, there will also be a vertical fluid uplift component. In addition, the device can also be designed with several liquid baths arranged one above the other in order to achieve higher performance.

In the embodiment according to FIGS. 5 to 7, in which the same reference numerals are used as in the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the difference compared to this embodiment is that instead of a line for the treatment liquid with nozzles 3 To achieve buoyancy in the liquid, two line snakes 21, for example made of earthenware or glass, with very fine openings (not shown) are provided, which are connected to a compressed air or steam source.

A control member 22 is arranged, which enables fine control of the air or steam jets 23 emerging from the fine openings in the snakes.

The particularly fine control of the lift on the metal sheets Bt, which is possible with this arrangement, will certainly prevent the buoyancy from becoming too great and the metal sheets coming into contact with the upper edge 13 of the guide 12, respectively . emerge from the liquid 2. When using steam or heated air, there is also the advantage that at the same time, the treatment liquid 2 can be heated.
