Description
Leistungsschalter.
Circuit breaker. In switches for higher voltages, especially for outdoor installation, it is known that maintaining the insulation in a permanently good condition offers certain difficulties that cannot be completely avoided even by adding an insulating separation point. Even when the insulating separation point is open, there is a voltage difference between the open contacts of the power switching point, the size of which is determined by the ratio of the partial capacities.
With certain types of switch, the power switch point is closed again after the isolating point has been opened, but this has the disadvantage that the current is switched on through the isolating point when it is switched on.
This disadvantage can be avoided according to the invention in a circuit breaker consisting of a power switching point in series with an insulating separation point that the power switching point is bridged by the movable contact part of the insulating separation point at the end of its opening movement.
The accompanying schematic drawing shows partly in view and partly in section an embodiment of the subject of the invention, namely Fig. 1 shows the switch closed and Fig. 2 the switch open. When the switch is open, contacts 1 and 2 of the power switching point are short-circuited by the movable member 3 of the insulating separation point.
Because of the on and off movements of the contact part 2, the organ 3 of the insulating separation point is inevitably also adjusted by the lever mechanism 4. By bridging the power switching point shown, a destruction of the insulation parts of this switching point is prevented by constant voltage stress when the switch is open.
