Ton- und Bildtonfilmgerät. Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf Ton- und Bildtonfilmgeräte mit fest angeordneter Filmbahn an der Tonsteuerstelle. Bei diesen Geräten befinden sich üblicherw=eise vor oder hinter dieser Filmbahn mindestens eine Rolle, welche entweder eine glatte Oberfläche auf weist oder mit Zacken versehen ist und die Aufgabe hat, die Filmgeschwindigkeit an der Tonsteuerstelle konstant zu halten. Zu die sem Zweck kann sie zum Beispiel mit einem Schwungrad versehen sein;
Sound and image sound film device. The invention relates to sound and picture sound film devices with a fixed film path at the sound control point. In these devices there is usually at least one roller in front of or behind this film path, which either has a smooth surface or is provided with spikes and has the task of keeping the film speed constant at the sound control point. For this purpose it can for example be provided with a flywheel;
it can further be coupled to the drive motor or be driven by the film. At the end of the film web opposite to the said roller, a device is then expediently arranged which generates a tension in the film and feeds it in the tensioned state at the control station. It has always been assumed up to now that the film would thereby keep the constant speed it received on the roll mentioned up to the sound control point. It has been found, however, that this is by no means the case and the reason for this is given below with reference to FIG. 1 of the drawing.
In Fig. 1, 1 is a roller on which the film 2 rests without slipping, e.g. B. a prickly roll or a smooth roll, with pressure roll 3.
Due to the stiffness of the film, which is expressed at this point as a certain resistance to bending, the film does not cling to the roll in the tangential plane, but rather forms a specific resilient loop on this roll, which is all the more detached from the roll The periphery of the roll is removed, the smaller the tension P in this film strip and the greater the film stiffness.
If the voltage P (P,> P2> P3) changes, the radius of curvature of the loop on the roller changes and thus also the position of a certain point a (a ,, a2, a3) on the film: It will now be readily apparent that the film speed at a- cannot be constant even if the roll rotates at a constant speed, but the tension P changes only slightly.
It goes without saying that the stress P can be not only tensile stress but also compressive stress in the film, provided that the film does not buckle.
In practice, it has been found that the voltage P generally cannot be kept constant within sufficiently small limit values. The reason for this is the changing friction of rollers or tension levers, bumps from prongs that grip into the film. Irregularities of gears in the drive mechanism, differences in friction at the different points of the film on the film web due to different types of surface eggs, genisic etc.
Even very small changes in tension result in a certain, albeit relatively small, change in the position of the film. The individual sound images on the film strip, however, are of the same order of magnitude, especially at the high frequencies, so that the sound becomes hoarse even with the smallest voltage changes.
This drawback is eliminated according to the invention in that the film is forced over its entire length between the sound control point and an organ that has the task of keeping the film constant speed at the sound control point, in such a way that loops are formed and loop change,
which would occur as a result of the rigidity of the film with changing tension in the film part between the sound control point and the above-mentioned organ, is avoided in this part of the film.
For this purpose, the film is compulsorily guided, for example over the entire distance mentioned by a film guide designed as a curved body from the sound control point to the above-mentioned organ, in such a way that any undesired film movement is impossible. This is achieved, for example, by this (Fix. 2). that the curved film guide 4 holds the film 2 both on the roll 1 and on the firmly. arranged film web 5 presses, so that the film between roll 1 and sound control point 6 is nowhere without forced guidance.
Although a perfect recording or reproduction can be obtained with the film guide 4 per se, it is necessary to further improve the sound purity in certain cases, eg. B. in synchronous systems. in which image and sound film are synchronized by spikes rolling, useful.
This measure can be supplemented by the fact that the film on one side of the sound control sielle is driven by a toothed roller, because a free loop is formed between the sound control point and the toothed roller, through the tension of which the film rests against the guide rails.
This avoids, for example, any tooth bumps as a result of the presence of the tooth roller and any bumps in the coupling of the take-up reel on the film movement at the sound control point from exerting such an influence that the bumps occur make audible in the acoustic playback. In this case, the tooth shocks in the film are dampened by the free loop. This result cannot be achieved in that, as is the case with known devices, the film between the tooth roller and the film path is held taut by a mechanical device with a relatively large mass.
It should be mentioned here that this effect of a free loop in sound film devices is assumed to be known.
The film drive device is preferably designed in such a way that the film is jammed by the smooth drive roller along the concave side of the curved film path and is guided in the direction of film travel behind this film path via the free loop to the sprocket.
For additional guidance of the film over the film web, it may be advantageous under certain circumstances to arrange a pressure roller at the end of the film web where the film forms the loop, although in practice it has been found that this is not always necessary and the film, if it is quite rigid in itself, is already pressed against the film web by the loop.
Such a device is particularly suitable for the production of sound recordings that can be mechanically produced and electrically reproduced optically. In this case, the smooth drive roller serves as a recording point and the control point on the film web as an optical scanning point, for example to play back the sound recording in the same device. If the sound control point is located behind the mechanical recording device in the direction of film travel, it can be used as a direct control point for the mechanically produced recording.
The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the cal schematic drawing in an execution example.
In Fig. 3, 2 is the sound or image sound film, which is driven by the Sprossenrad 7 and the smooth roller 1 in the direction indicated by the arrow direction. The film is pressed against the smooth roller by two pressure rollers 3, while two rollers 8 hold the film on the tooth roller 7. The smooth roll is conveniently coupled to the drive of the device via a known coupling with a variable transmission ratio, whereby the correct linear film speed, even if the film has shrunk ge, can be maintained.
From this smooth roll, the film is on the concave arched film web 5, which also serves as a guide body 4, jammed and over its entire length - out to the sound control point 6 and past the latter, where the sound recording is illuminated by the lens 9 and from the photocell 12 is scanned. This photo cell is protected against mechanical damage in the bore 11 of the film web and is connected to the sound a.btaststelle through a bore 10. For additional guidance of the film over the film web, the roller 13 is arranged at the end of the web.
Through this role, the film remains in contact with the same up to the end of the guideway, although in practice it has been shown that the between. Guide track 5 and tooth roller 7 located free loop 14 often exerts sufficient pressure through which the film remains in contact with the web without an additional guide roller 18.
The arrangement shown is particularly suitable for the mechanical production of an optically reproduced sound recording on a pure sound film which is later to be copied onto the positive film. In this case, namely the Spros senrad 7 ensures a synchronous film run with the associated picture film. The mechanical sound recording is made by means of a chisel 15 on the smooth roll. The control playback can be made at the sound control point on the film web.
