Description

       So    kann man den     Brennstoff-          behälter    nach Art -eines Klemmdeckels in  eine     entsprechende    Vertiefung     des        Konser-          vendosenboJens    einsetzen und die Masse von       unten    her     abbrennen        lassen.    Oder man kann  den     Brennstoffbehälter        im    Abstand von der       Konservendüse    auf     eine        ;

Heating device for food cans and the like. The invention relates to a heating device for gong food cans and the like, which is provided with a container for solid fuel.

The known heating devices of this type require. Due to their large dimensions, an excessively large space is required for packaging or for storage in stacks. To the extent that the known heating devices do not have this defect, it is a question of containers that are open on one side, so that the fuel stored therein does not last indefinitely.

According to the invention, the fuel container consists of a flat can, which is sealed gas-tight with a lid and in which the fuel mass is securely housed.

The flat shape of the fuel container makes it easier to store it and, due to the large surface area of the fuel mass, provides a powerful flame during use, which quickly heats the contents of the can and does not go out even when there is a draft.

The gastight closure of the fuel container allows any length of storage without loss of fuel mass. A particular advantage is that the heating pre-assembly can be used in different positions as required because of the fixed connection of the fuel mass.

       So you can insert the fuel container in the manner of a clamp cover into a corresponding recess in the canning jar and let the mass burn off from below. Or you can put the fuel container at a distance from the canning nozzle on a;

Place suitable supports, in which case the mass will burn off from above.

To make it easier to open the fuel can, the crimped lid can be flexible and provided with a ring in the middle to enable it to be torn off. Another possibility is to manufacture the cover of the fuel can from a flammable but gas-tight material.

The lid is then lit when the heating device is in use and at the same time ignites the fuel mass. In both cases, the fuel can can be opened quickly and easily without using a tool.

When using the heating device for a tin can, it must be set up in an elevated position if the combustion air is to reach the fuel mass. For this purpose, wire feet can be attached to the bottom of the can, which are bent up to set up the can.

It is expedient if a sheet metal ring with tongues directed inwards is attached to the fuel can itself for hoofing the can. Is beneficial. the sheet metal ring is mounted in a fold formed by the edge of the lower part of the can, which at the same time also accommodates the dowel of the fuel can. When using the heater, the tongues of the sheet metal ring are bent upwards, whereupon you can put the tin or another vessel on the tongues.

But you can also bend the tongues at the bottom and set up the box with the tongues like a table. In this case the fuel burns from below and the can rests directly on the fuel can.

A third possibility is to bend the tongues partly upwards and partly downwards, with the upwardly directed tongues carrying the can, while the downwardly bent tongues serve to set up the fuel can in order to create a seliä.d- liche V @ to prevent heat transfer to the substrate.

The subject matter of the invention is illustrated in the drawing in exemplary embodiments. Shown are: FIG. 1. The heating device in connection with a tin can, partially in longitudinal section, FIG. ? this heating device is seen from above, FIG. 3 shows a second embodiment of the heating device in plan view

FIG. -1 shows a section to FIG. 3, FIG. 5 a heating device with: a support ring in plan view, Fi, g. f> the device according to FIG. 5 in use, FIG. 7 the device according to Füg.

5 in a different type of use, FIG. 8 a device with a different support ring in a visual illustration, and FIG. 9 a device with a third support ring in a side view.

According to FIG. 1, the fuel container consists of a flat can a with a soldered-on lid b. The can a is made by simply pressing it into a shallow depression c on the bottom d Can e attached and can just as easily be removed like a clamp lid,

be leveraged. @ Of course, the can a could also be loosely accommodated in a recess in the lid of the can e.

To remove the soldered-on lid b of the can n, a can opener f can be used according to FIG. which you put in a tongue of the lid.

According to FIGS. 3 and 1, the lid b of the can a is fastened by rolling up the edge of the can - iintertei1s. The lid b folded in this way is made of thin sheet metal and is therefore flexible and can be removed by tearing it open by means of a ring attached in the middle.

It is also possible to manufacture the cover b from an easily combustible, but gas-tight material, so that the fuel can be exposed without any auxiliary means.

For the fuel mass i any solid igorter fuel such. B. dry alcohol, or with a flammable material soaked felt, asbestos or the like. Ver used. The fuel mass can be loosely inserted into the can a and secured in this against falling out by a wire mesh k. But of course, a firm seat of the fuel mass in the can is also: accessible by other means.

The heating device is now used as follows: After opening the can e and, if necessary, after removing the lid b , the can a is placed in the position shown in FIG . 1 ,

The carrier shown here in the bottom d of the can e and places the can with the bent wire feet m on a suitable base, whereupon the fuel is ignited. But you can also: put the can a in the reverse position under the can e, whereupon the fuel mass will burn off from above.

According to FIGS. 5 to 7 is in a fold n of the can bottom, at the same time with a flammable lid b, z. B. from cell horn, a sheet metal ring o with radially inwardly geriohteten ', tongues p mounted.

If, instead of a flammable cover b, a soldered-on or tear-off closure cover is used, the sheet metal ring o naturally lies underneath it.

In the latter case, a double fold is provided, the inward fold of which is opened when the empty cover is torn off, while the second fold, which clamps the sheet metal ring, remains closed. When the can is unsealed, the ring o holds the fuel mass with the tongues p.

The tongues p of the ring o, which are punched out of its full sheet metal, are used to set up the heating device or to carry the can. You can be provided in any number and be designed in different ways according to shape and size. According to Fig. 5: the tongues p differently long in order to be able to recognize their association more easily.

When using the. Example, the three longer tongues bent up vertically, whereupon you can set up the heater in; the dargestell th position in Fig. 6. The can a rests in a corresponding depression c of the can e or it carries a container with a flat bottom in the same position.

According to Fig. 7, the longer tongues are bent down over the beaded edge of the lower part of the can, while the shorter tongues are directed upwards and are used to place .dem cans or another 'Ge container.

In all cases, the tongues p are only connected to their base at certain points, so that no heat transfer can take place through conduction. On the other hand, let the tongues p when using the heater in the position of FIG. 6 or 7, a plentiful amount of United combustion air between them.

The sheet metal ring o with the tongues p could also be soldered to the bottom of the box a or, as shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, be drawn onto the back wall.

The tongues p proceeding from a flat ring according to FIG. 8 or from a cylindrical ring according to FIG. 9 can then be bent open in the same way as the tongues of the can according to FIG. 5 for erecting the can a or for placing the can e attached sheet metal ring.
