Radio receiver. The invention relates to a Radi.o- receiving device, in which an aggregate, z. B. a To former is arranged. In many cases, it is desirable that a radio receiving device is capable of handling various types of current, such as direct current and alternating current. Since in most cases alternating current is used to power a radio set, recently such devices have been built exclusively for alternating current and only in those cases in which the device has to be fed with direct current, the device with a converter Conversion from direct to alternating current provided.
It is desirable that the device can be switched from one type of current to the other in a simple manner, and this creates a relatively large number of difficulties, since different connections have to be approved. According to the invention, this disadvantage is countered in that the connection means of this unit are arranged in the device in relation to the connection means of the device to the mains voltage,
that a movable organ electrically connected in each of its end positions to the mains voltage supply line in one position the device for supply by means of the unit and in another position for direct supply; that is, without this aggregate, makes suitable. This makes it possible to convert a device intended for direct current into a device suitable for alternating voltage with a single manipulation, which can also be done by laypersons without hesitation.
The aggregate can also have a different function; so it is possible in this way to install a transformer between the mains voltage supply line and the apparatus itself and install or. turn off.
In an advantageous embodiment of the device according to the invention, the means for connecting the device to the mains voltage supply line and for connecting the ballast unit are designed as a plug and those of the mains voltage supply line are designed as mating plugs.
In order to avoid all errors, which is particularly important when laypeople use the device, it is advisable to carry out one and the other in such a way that the mating connector can only take two effective positions as a result of the interaction of protruding parts and recesses. For this purpose, the mating connector can be provided with some ribs which fit into corresponding recesses in the rear panel of the device, in wel cher the mains voltage mating connector is usually fastened in the usual constructions.
It is desirable that a mark is also visible through a recess, whereby the position of the mating connector can be perceived so that one can always see at a glance whether the unit is switched on or not, or for which type of current the device is is set. It is also advisable to design the mating connector so that it can rotate around a shaft fastened in the mentioned rear plate.
A very favorable embodiment is obtained when the plug pins and sockets are so symmetrical with respect to a plane extending through the axis of rotation of the mating connector that the effective positions of the mating connector are diametrically opposite one another.
It is also recommended that the connector pins respectively. Sockets mutually of the type in the device respectively. to connect with each other in the mating connector so that in every position of the mating connector the same pair of pins of the device connector and the same pair of bushings of the mains connector cause the voltage supply of the mains connection to the device.
The drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. Fig. 1 illustrates the position of the plug pins, which are located on the device and on the ballast, in the present case on a converter, as well as the connections that pin between these plugs when using the organ shown in FIG connected to the mains voltage supply line and designed as a mating connector. Said converter serves the purpose of making an alternating current device suitable for receiving direct current.
In Fig. 1, the connections that are made when using the mating connector of FIG. 2 for direct power, so when connecting the device to alternating current, are indicated by dash-dotted lines, while the United connections for direct current are given by dashed lines; In this case, the converter is placed between the mains voltage supply line and the device. The existing connections in the device plug are indicated with full lines.
As can be seen from FIG. 1, the plug pins 1, 2, 3 and 4, which belong to the converter, are mounted on a board .1 which is loose from board B on which the other plug pins belonging to the apparatus are arranged are. This is related to the fact that the converter is usually only installed in the device if it really has to be suitable for direct current supply. The connector pins 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 are arranged on the board B.
As is apparent from Fig. 1, the connector pins 6 and 12 are always connected to each other through the line 20; likewise the connector pins 7 and 15 are always connected to one another by the line 21. The sockets attached to the mating connector of the mains voltage supply line are arranged on the connector pins 9 and 10. These pins are connected to pins 8 and 11 by means of the mains voltage switch 5.
If the mating connector shown in Fig. 2 is arranged in its alternating current position on the board B, the pins 1.?, 3 and 4 remain on the board .1, and the pins 6, 7, 13 and 14 on the board B except Activity. The latter pins serve as guide pins.
As can be seen from FIG. 1, in this case the pins 8 and 12 and the pins 11 and 15 are penetrated by the lines indicated in FIG. 2 as conductive strips 16 and 17 and in FIG. 1 as dash-dotted lines 16a and 17a the mating connector connected to each other. The strips 18 and 19 (Fig. 2) are in contact with the pins 13 and 14, but are not effective in this position of the mating connector. These strips are in this stel ment in Fig. 1 with 18a and 19a.
The pins 12 and 15 are connected to the remaining part of the device and the NEN to feed the same.
If the mating connector of Fig. 2 is rotated 180, so the pins 13 and 14 on the board B are ineffective. In accordance with the aforementioned manner, the pins 8 and 11 are connected to the mains voltage supply line, which is connected to the pins 9 and 10, by means of the mains switch 5.
The strips designated 16 and 17 in Fig. 2 now form a connection between the pins 8 and 1 respectively. 11 and 4; these connections are denoted in Fig. 1 with 16b and 1711). The pins 1 and 4 cause the direct current feed of the converter, not shown, which converts this direct current into Wech selstrom and supplies the pins 2 and 3. In the middle of the strips labeled 18 and 19 in FIG. 2, these pins are in contact with the pins 6 and 7 on the board B, which is indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 1 with 18b and 19b.
As already noted, the pins 6 and 7 are always in contact with the pins 12 and 15 by means of the conductors 20 and 22, so that alternating current is also now supplied to these pins.
Fig. 2 is a view of the mating connector with the cover removed. The mains voltage supply lines designated by 22 and 23 are connected to the sockets 24 and 25, which means that they fit onto the pins 9 and 10 of the board B in each of the two positions of this mating connector. The mating connector is provided with a zentra len opening 26 by means of which it is rotatable about the axis M (Fig. 1). The mating connector can be fixed on the axis <B> 31 </B> by means of a nut.
For the sake of clarity, boards A and B are shown again in FIGS. 3 and 4, with the position of the mating connector for direct current supply and in FIG. 4 the position of this connector for alternating current supply being indicated by dashed lines. For the sake of simplicity, the connections between the connector pins are BEZW. Boxes omitted here.
From this figure it can be readily deduced that in one position of the mating connector the device is suitable for feeding by means of the converter and in the other position for direct feeding.
In Fig. 5 a part of the rear panel of a radio receiver is shown with the mating connector attached to it. The opening in the mating connector for passing through the axis M is again designated by 26. Said back plate has two recesses 27 and 28 into which the ribs 29 and 30 attached to the back of the mating connector fit, or through which the relevant mark on this back to indicate the type of current is visible. The recess 27 is designed in such a way that the ribs 29 and 30 only fit into it in two ways.
With 31 that is invisible in this stel development of the mating connector Merkzei chen for direct current.
In FIG. 6, the rear plate 32 of the radio device and the mating connector 33 attached to it and its position in relation to the boards <I> A </I> and <I> B </I> are shown. For the sake of clarity, the boards A and B are shifted slightly to the right from their effective position. From the figures, the length of the rows of plug pins I, I.f, III and IV (see Fig. 1), and the position of the corresponding rows of sockets V, VI and VII clearly emerge.
The row of openings VIII in the mating connector serves as a guide for the row of connector pins II, which is not effective in this position. The opening 28 for the perception of the current type marker is also shown in this figure. The rib 29 lies slightly behind the axis M of the mating connector.
