Description

Method and device for transferring high-tension gases using transfer pumps. The invention relates to a Ver drive and a device for transferring high-tension gases using transfer pumps such. B. pumps for transferring oxygen from large storage containers into smaller consumption containers, such as those found in free portable breathing devices.

Oxygen is usually stored in bottles with a volume of 40 to 50 liters and in which the oxygen is under a pressure of 150 atmospheres, while the use bottles only have a volume of around 1 to 2 liters and must be filled with oxygen of the same voltage sen. The sta tionary or portable devices used for this purpose usually consist of a storage battery of 3 or more bottles and a pump to which both the storage battery and the bottles to be filled can be connected.

In general, when filling the consumable bottles, the procedure is such that one after the other is filled from three Vorratsfla's which have different pressures after multiple withdrawals of oxygen, whereby the bottle with the lowest pressure level is first filled.

While with manually operated transfer pumps there is hardly any risk of a pressure of 150 atmospheres being generated in the consumption bottle, since the person operating the pump indicates the completed filling with a pressure indicator and the increasing pump resistance attention is drawn to mechanically driven transfer pumps, precautions against overloading must be taken by switching on a pressure relief valve.

Since it can happen with such mechanically driven transfer pumps that the person operating the pump does not stay with the pump all the time, when the intended maximum pressure is reached, the pre-set safety valve will prevent the maximum pressure from being exceeded by automatically opening; but since the safety valves that have been customary up to now are set up in such a way that they blow off into the open, a large part of the oxygen in the supply bottle, from which the pump continues to deliver, will be lost in a short time.

In order to avoid this gas loss, which becomes quite expensive over time, the amount of gas to be drained is returned to the storage container according to the method according to the invention when excess pressure arises in the container to be filled.

For boiler systems, it is known to BEZW the exhaust steam from the machine. to return the condensate to the boiler. Here, however, there are completely different conditions than in the present special area, in which the pump, as explained above, has to deliver from containers whose pressure changes continuously and into which the gas to be blown off when the maximum pressure is exceeded can flow back.

To carry out the method, a device can be used in which a chamber is connected behind the pump, which is connected on the one hand to the container to be filled and on the other hand a return line closed by a valve to the storage container, possibly via the suction line of the pump, having. This return valve is actuated by pressure transmission elements from a valve controlled by a membrane; the membrane is on one side under gas pressure load, while on the other side a mechanical load, z. B. the pressure of an adjustable spring is subject.

In the drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the device according to the invention are shown in section, namely: Fig. 1 shows the simpler embodiment with a return valve loaded only by an adjusting spring, Fig. 2 the special embodiment with a return valve loaded by an adjusting spring and an auxiliary control .

In Fig. 1, the chamber 3 aufwei sending housing 1 is closed by means of a line stub zens 2 to the pressure line of the pump. This chamber 3 is also called GE via a valve 4 tim the following drain valve) through the pipe socket 5 to the reservoir respectively. connected to the pump via the suction line. The release valve 4 is held closed against the pressure of the spring 6 by the closure piece 7. The long arm of the lever 8, which is mounted so as to be pivotable at 20 and has a short arm 8 ', acts on the locking piece 7.

This short arm 8 'stands over a pressure piece 10 under the action of a membrane 9. On the other side of the ser Mernbra.n 9, a pressure piece 13 is arranged, which via the one-armed lever 12 pivoted at 21 under the pressure of a strong, Spring 11 adjustable to different pressures is available.

The function of this device is as follows: When a certain transfer pressure is reached in the chamber 3, this acts on the membrane 9 in such a way that it bends out towards the side of the pressure die core 13. This lifts the lever 12 and compresses the spring 1.1. On the other side of the 3-membrane 9, the retention of the pressure piece 7 caused by the pressure piece 10 via the lever arms 8 'and 8 is canceled, so that the pressure of the spring 6 depresses the pressure piece 7 and thereby the drain valve 4 is opened.

The excess gas escapes through the pipe socket 5 respectively into the storage container. into the suction line of the pump. When the overpressure in the chamber 3 falls below the load limit provided when the spring 11 is set, the membrane 9 returns to its starting position, the lever 12 being depressed by releasing the spring 11.

This pressure is transferred to the pressure piece 13, which just if it returns to its original position. Due to the retrograde movement of the mem brane 9, the short lever arm 8 'is depressed by the pressure piece 10, whereby the drain valve 4 is closed over the long lever arm 8 under renewed tension of the spring 6 through the pressure piece 7, until the to achieve the desired pressure in the consumption container he required overpressure in the chamber 3 is ent.

In Fig. 2 a further embodiment of the device is shown in which, in addition to the drain valve 4 and the control consisting of the parts 10, 9, 13, an auxiliary control 14 and 17 arranged in a further chamber 15 is provided.

The chamber 15 is connected through the line 16 to the suction line of the pump opening into the line socket 5 and is closed off by a membrane 14: A pressure piece 17 rests on this membrane 14, which acts on the one-armed lever 18 pivoted at 22 in turn influences the short arm 19 of the lever 12, which in contrast to FIG.

The auxiliary control according to Fig. 2 has the following meaning: The control of the drain valve must be designed in such a way that the consumption bottles of 1 to 2 liters to be filled from the large storage bottles are always filled to a pressure of 150 atmospheres, that is Drain valve 4 may only blow off if this pressure has also been reached in chamber 3.

In the two described embodiments, however, the discharge valve 4 is on the side opening into the line 5 under the action of the counterpressure prevailing in the supply bottle that is just connected, which tries to open the discharge valve.

But since the back pressure of the storage bottles, as already mentioned at the beginning, is constantly different and constantly decreasing, so would - a certain setting of the valve spring 11 exposed before - in the arrangement of FIG. 1 at high back pressure in the storage bottle BEZW. Blow off the drain valve in line 5 earlier than at low back pressure, which means that in order to still achieve a bottle pressure of 150 atmospheres in the consumption container, the loading spring 11 would have to be adjusted depending on the pressure conditions in the supply bottles.

In order to avoid readjusting the spring 11, the auxiliary control 14, 15 is provided in the example of FIG 4 brings about. Since the same pressure, which has a relieving effect on the valve 4, acts on the membrane 14 in a stressful sense, this means that regardless of the pressure prevailing in the storage bottle, the valve 4 is in the chamber 3 without any change at 150 atmospheres the tension of the valve spring 11 blows off.
