Description

Arrangement to improve the stability of capacitor-excited asynchronous generators. It has already been proposed to regulate the voltage of capacitor-excited asynchronous generators by changing the capacitive or inductive reactance used for excitation.

Experience shows that even if this control is normally stable, under certain circumstances an unstable state occurs. This disturbance is not due to the actual control process by changing the reactances, but occurs mainly when the asynchronous generator is predominantly inductively loaded and when the control process is carried out quickly. Under all other conditions, the disturbance phenomenon is a function of the control speed and is therefore time-dependent.

The disturbance sets in in particular when the excitation voltage by reducing the capacitor power, respectively. is regulated back by increasing the power of the parallel-connected throttle and a certain speed of the regulation is exceeded.

This phenomenon can be explained physically as follows: The voltage of the exciter is known to be set to a fixed (stable) value if the inductive reactive powers NJ and capacitive reactive powers N_j effective in the entire circuit are equal to one another, i.e. if Nj = N_j and the reactances are voltage-dependent in such a way that if the voltage is reduced, there would be a capacitive excess of reactive power and vice versa.

As long as these requirements are met, the voltage can be regulated in a stable manner by changing the resistances and, in particular, the reactances. - The prerequisite for the equilibrium of the reactive powers is, however, only sufficiently fulfilled with this type of control if the control of the reactances is slow.

Since the powers of the reactances, depending on whether they are capacitive or inductive, whether they are switched voltage or current-dependent and combined with resistors, have different time dependencies, temporary disturbances occur in your control process due to changes in the resistances Equal weight is given to the reactive powers, the size of which depends on the difference in their time dependency and, connected with it, on the speed with which the change in the resistances is made.

If this disturbance exceeds a certain amount, the equilibrium of the reactive power becomes unstable.

According to the invention, the resistances of the overall circuit are matched to one another according to time dependency and size in such a way that the stability of the generator is independent of the type of its load and the speed of the voltage regulation. This ensures that the temporary disturbance of the equilibrium of the reactive power values remains within the permissible limits even at any speed of the resistance control, and an unstable behavior of the generator is avoided.

The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. Fig. 1 to 4 show the single-phase circuit diagram of asynchronous generator systems. 1 shows the chained inductance, 4 the seat of the EMF and 5 the leakage inductance of the generator. In Fig.1, the generator, the spread of which is negligibly small, works on a purely ohmic resistance. In Fig. 2 the generator is loaded with a mixed ohmic and ductile resistance and in Fig. 3 with a motor whose current consumption should change in inverse proportion to the terminal voltage.

The inductive reactive power Nj consumed by the generator is mainly due to the generator scatter, not only due to the respective terminal voltage but also due to the respective value and the phase position of the load current.

If the terminal voltage U of the generator is now reduced in the generator systems according to Figs. 1 to 3, for example by increasing the reactance of the exciter capacitors, then the load current follows the terminal voltage without delay in the case of the arrangement according to Fig The generator remains stable regardless of the control speed dU / dt, especially if, as indicated in Fig. 1, one assumes a generator that does not leak.

In the case of the arrangements according to Fig. 2 and 3, however, respectively decreases. the load current increases with a delay compared to the drop in the terminal voltage, the degree of the delay depending on the control speed d U / dt. When the capacitor-excited asynchronous generator is loaded with a load of an inductive character, the control speed dU / dt is included in the stability conditions of the control process.

Fig. 5 shows a system in which the asynchronous generator 1 feeds the inductor 4 of the synchronous machine 5 via the rectifier 3. Parallel to the excitation capacitors 2 is the direct current bias choke 6, the bias winding 7 of which can be connected to any direct voltage, for example to the voltage of the inductor 4, via the control resistor 8.

In the system according to Fig. 5, the terminal voltage of the asynchronous generator 1 is set by adjusting the variable resistor 8. If the control resistor is adjusted abruptly in the sense of a reduction in the generator voltage, the terminal voltage of the asynchronous generator drops relatively quickly.

Due to the large inductance of the inductor, the load current follows with a considerable delay compared to the inductor voltage. While the generator voltage is falling, the inductive reactive power required by the generator is always greater than it would be in steady-state operation with the same value of the generator voltage.

If the control speed dU / dt is too high, the stable equilibrium is lost and the generator tilts. If, after the terminal voltage has dropped to zero, the inductor current has also subsided, nothing stands in the way of the asynchronous generator being excited, voltage and current return. Under certain circumstances the process just described can be repeated, so the generator oscillates.

In order to reduce the influence of the load current on the inductive reactive power requested by the generator as possible, according to a first embodiment, the generator leakage inductance is reduced below the normal level by means known per se, for example by increasing the number of slots in the Stator and rotor of the asynchronous generator or by using a two-layer winding.

According to a further exemplary embodiment, additional devices for generating reactive power, for example capacitors, are arranged in such a way that the reactive power they emit is dependent on the load current. These additional reactive power generators are expediently measured in such a way that the reactive power emitted by them as a function of the load current corresponds as closely as possible to the current-dependent portion of the reactive power requested by the generator.

As Fig. 4 shows, for example, the arrangement of Fig. 3 is stabilized with the help of Kon capacitors 6, which are connected in series with the load.

In the arrangement according to Fig. 5 capacitors 10 are switched on via current transformers 9 in the path of the anode current of the rectifier 3 for the same purpose. In the embodiment according to Fig. 5, the capacitors are coupled to the transformer in order to allow unhindered passage of the direct current element in the anode current that occurs in the rectifier circuit shown, for example.

The DC bias of the current transformers that may occur can be kept within permissible limits by arranging the windings of all three phases in the same direction on a three-legged iron core. In this case, the transformers are only magnetized by the yoke constant flux. In addition, all circuits known from the construction of the converter transformers can be used to avoid the premagnetization.

Due to the transformer coupling, a voltage ratio that is favorable for the economical operation of the capacitors can be achieved at the same time.
