Zusatzpatent zum Hauptpatent Nr. 205537. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines leichtlöslichen sauren Alizarinfarbstoffes. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft die Herstellung eines neuen, leichtlöslichen sau ren Alizarinfarbstoffes und ist dadurch ge kennzeichnet, dass man die freie Sulfosäure des Farbstoffes der Formel

durch Behandlung mit Lithiumcarbonat in das Lithiumsalz überführt.
<I>Beispiel:</I> Der Farbstoff der Formel

wird mit Wasser zu einer homogenen Paste verrührt und portionenweise unter gutem Rühren so lange mit Lithiumcarbonat ver setzt, bis die freie Sulfosäure in das entspre chende Lithiumsalz übergeführt ist. Die so erhaltene neutrale bezw. schwach alkalische Paste wird nun getrocknet und gemahlen.
Das auf diese Weise hergestellte Li- thiumsalz ist ein dunkelblaues Pulver, von welchem in 1000 Teilen kochendem Wasser 20 Teile löslich sind, während von dem ent sprechenden Natriumsalz nur 4 Teile gelöst werden.

is mixed with water to form a homogeneous paste and added in portions with lithium carbonate while stirring well until the free sulfonic acid is converted into the corre sponding lithium salt. The neutral respectively obtained in this way. weakly alkaline paste is now dried and ground.
The lithium salt produced in this way is a dark blue powder, 20 parts of which are soluble in 1000 parts of boiling water, while only 4 parts of the corresponding sodium salt are dissolved.
