Female snap button organ. The present invention relates to a female snap button member, comprising a body and a fastening part joined together by engagement of complementary parts.
This female pressure button member is characterized in that this body of the member has a cylindrical central wall provided with notches so as to form elastic blades, the free ends of these blades being curved towards the axis of the body. so that each of these blades has a lip intended to engage with the male member of the button, this cylindrical wall projecting from the bottom of the central depression of a cup-shaped part of the body,
this depression being surrounded by a circular bearing part arranged such that the free ends of the blades are set back from a plane passing through the bearing surface of this bearing part.
One embodiment of the object of the invention is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing, in which: FIG. 1 shows in section the body and the fastening part of this form arranged on the two opposite sides of a support sheet in the position which these parts occupy at the moment before their attachment to the sheet:
Fig. 2 shows a perspective view of the fastener, and FIG. 3 a section of this form of the fully attached female member, a corresponding male member being shown in the closed position in phantom.
The female member shown comprises a body 11 comprising a central cylindrical wall 12 provided with notches 13 parallel to the axis, so as to form resilient blades 14, the free ends of which are curved towards the axis of the body, so as that each of these blades has a lip 15 intended to engage with the male member of the button indicated in phantom in FIG. 3. This cylindrical wall 12 protrudes from the bottom of the central pressure relief of a cup-shaped portion, this depression being surrounded by an annular bearing portion 16, the free edge of which is curved towards the axis, so as to for mer behind the bearing part a cieulaire groove 17 opening to the outside through an annular slot 18.
The free ends of the blades are set back from an X-X plane passing through the bearing surface of part 16. In this way, the somewhat delicate blades 14 which are intended for. retain the male organ, are housed completely inside the part which surrounds them, and are thus protected against any deterioration.
The body 11 of the female member shown is formed by stretching or stamping or otherwise machining a sheet blank to form the elastic blades 14 and the bearing portion 16 and then folding back the outer edge of the sheet. roughing back and inward to form the groove.
The female member shown is fixed on a support sheet in the following way: The body 11 is placed on one side of the sheet 19 (Fig. 1) and then the claws 20 of the fastener 21 are driven out. through the sheet to make them enter the entry slit 18 of the body of the organ. On entering the groove 17, the claws meet a part of the wall of this outwardly curved groove and are consequently curved outwardly, so that they are retained in the groove. The sheet 19 is thus firmly clamped between the annular portion 22 of the part 21 and the curved free edge of the bearing portion of the body 11, so as to hold the female member rigidly in place on the sheet.
The female member described and its type of attachment have a number of advantages which will be best understood by referring to FIG. 3. The construction of the part 11 of this member is such that it can be manufactured very simply and economically from a single piece of sheet metal. In addition, this member allows easy and inexpensive fixing thanks to the use of the very simple fastening part 21 of the claw type. Further, one of the greatest advantages is that the somewhat delicate blades 14 which hold the button are protected, as already noted above, against the influence of destructive forces which occur. Usually smells when shipping parts.
Finally, when the female member is fixed, the claws and the annular part of the fixing part cooperate with the walls of the groove of the body 11 to form a strong cylindrical wall completely surrounding the blades and able to absorb any strong force occurring. in ordinary use. If this female organ is, for example, fixed on a glove and is dropped and walked on as often happens or if it is on a piece of clothing that must be passed through a calender during laundering, the entire effort will then in any case be absorbed by the cylindrical wall by turning the, delicate blades 14 and will have no effect on them.
