Device for securing a ladder to a tree. There are many accidents that occur at the time of fruit picking or pruning: trees, because the ladder slips on the branches or they break.
To avoid these drawbacks, the present invention relates to a device for as subjecting a ladder to a tree. It is characterized in that it comprises a collar, to which are fixed two diametrically opposed arms, which can adapt to the desired height on the trunk of the tree and a pair of adjustable length props, fixed by one end. to the uprights of the ladder and provided at the other end with means for hooking and fixing to the arms of the collar.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example and schematically, an embodiment of the device forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevation of the collar with its two arms, the right half of the arm being shown in section. Fig. 2 is a plan view of the collar with the device for fixing to the trunk of the tree.
Fig. 3 is a view of a stay, length adjustable, showing one of the ends to be fixed to the upright of the ladder and the other end to be hung on the arm of the collar.
Fig. 4 shows the way of securing the device to a tree, and fig. 5 is a plan view of FIG. 4, showing the tree cut flush with the collar. ' In the embodiment shown, the device comprises a collar, to be fixed on the shaft, in two rigid parts 1, adhering with their inner surface to the bark of the therefore.
These parts, in the form of segments, are linked on one side by a flexible part 2, for example by a chain, and on the other side by a chain fixed, on the one hand, to one of the segments and, on the other hand, to a lever 3 articulated to the other segment and allowing, when it is folded down on the latter, to tighten the collar around the trunk. The collar is constructed so as to be able to adapt to the trunk according to the diameter of the latter.
For this purpose, its chain 2 is attached to one of the segments, while the other segment is provided with a hook making it possible to: adjust the length of the chain, by shortening it as needed.
The two segments of the collar, here; in the case of a collar with more than two segments, two diametrically opposed segments of this tie collar are each provided with an arm 4 ending in a millet 5 in which the end of a stay 6 is hooked which secures the scale 7 to the collar. In the particular case, the segments provided with arms came in one piece with them. The forestay fi is <i. extension, to allow the scale of the trunk S to be spread more or less from the tree. It is in three parts, extendable like a telescope. The central section 9 slides in the section 6, like the section 10 slides in part 9.
Once the length has been adjusted, the three sections are fixed to each other by clamping screws 11.
The end: free of the section 6 is provided with a hooking member 12, for example a hook terminating in a thread provided with a safety nut. The hook is fixed in the mesh 5 of the collar support. The free end of the section 7 0 ends with a bracket 13 which is fixed to one of the uprights 14 of the ladder 7.
To put the ladder in place, we start by fixing the collar on the trunk of the tree, at a certain height, and when the ladder is erected, we place the props and fix them. first in the twinks of the collar and then up the of ladder. The sections extended- are fixed to the desired length with the screw ino @ -en scrnigc 11, and the ladder is in place, ready for service.
The device described pcrniet- @ as:, ujettir a ladder to a tree, so as to be able to reach in securil.é the end of the branches.
