Description

  Burr for dentistry.

The object of the present invention is a burr for a, rt-dental. This burr is characterized in that its active end has teeth on its butt, part of its periphery immediately adjacent to this end, the latter teeth extending over a low height and the diameter of their outer circle being equal to the diameter of the bed part of the cutter located immediately above them.

The accompanying drawing relates to an embodiment of the object of the present invention and to a variant. of it.

Fig. 1 is an elevation of the embodiment, part in section, and FIG. 2 is an end view. Figs. 3 and 4 ilflus'trcn't its operation. Figs. 5 and 6 are an elevation and a sectional view of the variant.

Figs. 1 and 2 represent the active end of the cutter. This end has teeth 1 on its end 2 and teeth 3 on the part of its periphery, immediately adjacent to this end.

These teeth 3 extend over a low height and the diameter e of their outer circle is. equal to that of part 4 of the bur which is located immediately above the teeth 3. These teeth are cut in a fashion, by working when the bur is turned to the right; but, naturally, el! they could also be cut so as to work when the cutter turns in sound, contrary.

Figs. 3 and 4 show how this trance is used, for obtaining a èpa, only b around the stump a of a crown, intended to receive a "jacketcrown".

This shoulder is initiated with a grinding wheel or with an ordinary bur above the gingiva.

It is lowered to below this, by means of the cutter shown. For this purpose, the latter is inserted vertically into the shoulder (see fig. 4), then it is removed. this around the stump a; teeth 1 mill the flat part of the shoulder and teeth 3 the vertical part of the stump immediately adjacent to the flat part.

As the cylindrical part 4 comes to rest against the already worked part of the stump as a guide, it is impossible for the teeth 3 to decrease or damage this stump.

In the variant of FIGS. 5 and 6, the nucleus is cylindro-ogiva and the edges of teeth 1 are curved.
