Description
Dentifrice
On sait que l'on utilise dans l'industrie et mme dans l'alimentation certains colorants bleus dans le but de donner à différentes substances légèrement jaunâtres une blancheur plus parfaite.
Les inventeurs ont eu l'idée d'appliquer ce principe aux soins dentaires en ajoutant à un dentifrice pourvue par ailleurs des pro priétés requises comme tel, une matière colorante bleue, par exemple du bleu de méthylène. Ce colorant est non seulement innoffensif pour les dents et pour les gencives, mais contribue de façon très efficace à l'hygiène buccale par ses propriétés antiseptiques.
L'objet de ce brevet est donc un dentifrice constitué par un mélange contenant une matière colorante bleue ou un produit de réduction d'une telle matière, propre à former la matière colorante par oxydation lors de l'emploi.
La préparation d'un tel dentifrice peut se faire par exemple de la façon suivante : On mélange dans les proportions indiquées les produits ci-après : Calcium carbonicum ad. us. ext. 52 part.

Mucilago gummi arabici 7,0"
Aqua 6,0" puis on ajoute à ce mélange 6 ou 8 gouttes d'une solution officinale à 5 /o de bleu de méthylène. On malaxe le tout jusqu'à ce que la teinte du mélange soit parfaitement homogène.
Si l'on désire que le dentifrice soit d'une couleur bleue moins intense ou complètement incolore, on peut employer une matière colorante décolorable par réduction et amenée au moins partiellement à cet état réduit : le bleu de méthylène se prte particulièrement bien à cette application.
Lors de l'emploi, sous l'action de l'oxy- gène de l'air, la couleur est régénérée et le but recherché est réalisé.

It is known that certain blue dyes are used in industry and even in food in order to give various slightly yellowish substances a more perfect whiteness.
The inventors had the idea of applying this principle to dental care by adding to a toothpaste provided moreover with the properties required as such, a blue coloring material, for example methylene blue. This dye is not only harmless to the teeth and to the gums, but also contributes very effectively to oral hygiene through its antiseptic properties.
The subject of this patent is therefore a toothpaste consisting of a mixture containing a blue coloring material or a reduction product of such a material, capable of forming the coloring material by oxidation during use.
The preparation of such a toothpaste can be done for example in the following way: The following products are mixed in the proportions indicated: Calcium carbonicum ad. us. ext. 52 part.

Aqua 6.0 "then 6 or 8 drops of an officinal 5% methylene blue solution are added to this mixture. The whole is mixed until the color of the mixture is perfectly homogeneous.
If it is desired that the toothpaste be of a less intense blue color or completely colorless, it is possible to use a coloring matter which can be decolorized by reduction and brought at least partially to this reduced state: methylene blue is particularly suitable for this application. .
During use, under the action of oxygen in the air, the color is regenerated and the desired goal is achieved.
