Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen Kondensationsproduktes. Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einem neuen Kondensationsprodukt gelangt, wenn man ,u-undecylbenzimidazolsulfonsaures Na trium mit Chlorameisensäuremethylester bei erhöhter Temperatur in Abwesenheit von Wasser behandelt.
Die Umsetzung wird zweckmässig in Ge genwart eines nichtwässrigen Lösungsmittels, wie Benzol, vorteilhaft bei etwa 70 bis<B>80',</B> vorgenommen.
Das neue Kondensationsprodukt bildet eine fast weisse, feste Masse, die von Wasser leicht zu einer stark schäumenden, gegen Ameisensäure beständigen Lösung aufge nommen wird. Es kann als Schaummittel in schwach alkalischem, neutralem oder saurem Medium verwendet werden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 37,3 Gewichtsteile ,u-undecylbenzimid- azolsulfonsaures Natrium werden mit 9,5 Ge wichtsteilen Chlorameisensäuremethylester und 135 Volumteilen Benzol während einer halben Stunde bei 75 bis<B>80'</B> verrührt. Die so erhaltene Lösung wird bei<B>100'</B> einge dampft und der Rückstand im Vakuum ge trocknet. Das erhaltene feste Produkt ist fast weiss und löst sich gut in Wasser.
Die wäss- rige Lösung kann mit Ameisensäure stark angesäuert werden, ohne dass eine Fällung eintritt, was beim Ausgangsmaterial nicht der Fall ist. Das Produkt zeichnet sich durch ein hervorragendes Schaumbildungsvermögen in schwach alkalischem, neutralem oder saurem Medium aus.
Process for the production of a new condensation product. It has been found that a new condensation product is obtained if u-undecylbenzimidazolesulfonic acid sodium is treated with methyl chloroformate at an elevated temperature in the absence of water.
The reaction is expediently carried out in the presence of a non-aqueous solvent such as benzene, advantageously at about 70 to 80 '.
The new condensation product forms an almost white, solid mass that is easily absorbed by water into a strongly foaming solution that is resistant to formic acid. It can be used as a foaming agent in a weakly alkaline, neutral or acidic medium.
<I> Example: </I> 37.3 parts by weight of u-undecylbenzimidazolesulfonic acid sodium are stirred with 9.5 parts by weight of methyl chloroformate and 135 parts by volume of benzene for half an hour at 75 to 80 '. The solution obtained in this way is evaporated at <B> 100 '</B> and the residue is dried in vacuo. The solid product obtained is almost white and dissolves well in water.
The aqueous solution can be strongly acidified with formic acid without precipitation occurring, which is not the case with the starting material. The product is characterized by its excellent foaming capacity in weakly alkaline, neutral or acidic media.
