Zusatzpatent zum Hauptpatent Nr. 215941. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Farbstoffes der Triazolreihe. Es wurde gefunden, dass ein Farbstoff der Triazolreihe hergestellt werden kann, wenn man den Farbstoff der Formel

mit oxydierenden Mitteln bis zur Bildung des Triazols behandelt.
Der erhaltene Farbstoff stellt in trockenem Zustande ein braunes Pulver dar, das sich in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure mit roter, in Wasser mit gelbbrauner Farbe löst und Baumwolle aus glaubersalzhaltigem Bade in gelbbraunen Tönen färbt, die beim Behandeln mit Kupfersalzen ein waschechtes Braun geben.
Zur Durchführung des vorliegenden Ver fahrens können alle oxydierenden Mittel ver- wendet werden, die die o-Aminoazogruppie- rung zum Triazolring zu oxydieren vermögen. Vorzugsweise verwendet man eine ammo- niakalische Kupfersalzlösung. Da sich in diesem Falle Kupferkomplexverbindungen des Farbstoffes bilden, so muss hier das erhaltene Produkt in einem weiteren Arbeitsgang, der sich an die Oxydation auch unmittelbar an schliessen kann, entkupfert werden. Dies kann in an sich bekannter Weise, z. B.
mittels Mineralsäuren, wie Salzsäure, oder mittels Schwefelwasserstoff oder Schwefel- Wasserstoff abgebenden Mitteln, wie Sulfide, insbesondere lösliche Sulfide, geschehen. <I>Beispiel:</I> 5 Teile des Trinatriumsalzes des Farb stoffes der Formel

werden in 250 Teilen heissem Wasser gelöst und bei<B>95"</B> mit einer ammoniakalkalischen Kupferlösung, bestehend aus 6,25 Teilen krist. Kupfersulfat, 25 Teilen Wasser und 18 Teilen 24 ,foiger Ammoniaklösung versetzt.
Man lässt etwa 4 Stunden bei 90- 95 rühren. Den Verlauf der Oxydation kann man durch Entnahme von Proben verfolgen; der Aus gangsfarbstoff löst sich in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure mit blauer Farbe, die in Rot übergeht. Zur Überführung der kupferhaltigen in die kupferfreie Verbindung kocht man nach Zugabe von 104 Teilen 30 "/o iger Salz säure 6 Stunden.
Nach dem Abfiltrieren und gründlichen N acliwaschen wird der Farbstoff in üblicher Weise durch Umsetzen mit Soda oder Natronlauge in das Natriumsalz übergeführt.

To carry out the present process, all oxidizing agents can be used which are capable of oxidizing the o-aminoazo grouping to form the triazole ring. An ammoniacal copper salt solution is preferably used. Since in this case copper complex compounds of the dye are formed, the product obtained here has to be decuppered in a further operation, which can also immediately follow the oxidation.
