Description

Gas meter with four measuring chambers and double valves.

The subject of the present invention is a dry gas meter with four measuring chambers and four double valves, in which the entire measuring assembly can be entirely constituted outside the meter box.

Usually the measuring part is made up of a single block which is introduced into the meter housing.

In the meter, object of the invention, each group of two measuring chambers is independent and assembled with the two valve boxes which serve it, in an independent, removable measuring block or assembly. This arrangement has the advantage of easy mounting of the measuring blocks in the meter and of a great simplification of the channels connecting the double valve boxes to the measuring chambers.

Figs. 1 and 2 of the accompanying schematic drawing, given by way of example, show respectively a sectional elevation and a sectional elevation of one embodiment of the object of the invention.

The measuring equipment 1 consists of the set of two groups of components 2 and 3 each comprising a pair of measuring chambers 4,5 assembled with its two valve boxes 6,7 or 8,9 in an independent measuring block , removable, can be formed outside the cash register or meter box.

The four valve boxes are fixed to the ceiling 10 of the meter and the rings 11, 12, 13, 14 constituting the outlet valves of the meter are connected to the ceiling 10 by membranes of flexible material, preferably leather.

   The operation is as follows:
The gas arrives in the upper part 15 of the meter box; it is distributed in the measuring chambers by the central valves 16,17,18,19 and escapes from these through the annular valves 11,12,13, 14 in the lower part 20 of the body from which it comes out by a lateral tubing.

The gas circuit could moreover be reversed.

It can be seen in the figures that the measuring chambers, united in two independent blocks of the meter box, allow the latter to serve as a condensation tank.

The various parts of the meter can be made from any material, metallic or not, or assembled in any way, by welding or stapling for example.
