Device for spectral analytical investigations.
When performing quantitative spectral analyzes in practice, as well as when carrying out investigations in this field, there is usually the need to record a larger number of spectra on a photographic plate under exactly the same conditions.
In addition to the actual adherence to the exposure time, a precise optical setting, which is usually carried out with the aid of a projection device, must also be ensured here, as well as the maintenance of the electrical conditions during the discharge and, in particular, the maintenance of a certain duration of the discharge attention must be paid to the fact that the spectra should first stabilize before the actual exposure of the photo plate can begin. Numerous work processes are repeated over and over again and therefore require a lot of attention.
The control of the individual processes by an automatically operating device is therefore advisable with a view to advantageously relieving the observer.
The use of such a device also allows you to focus your attention during this time on more important things and is also of the greatest importance in order to achieve the greatest possible accuracy and reliability of the results.
An automatic device for spectral analytical examinations is known. The way in which they work is essentially based on the use of electrical devices from Femmeldechnik.
After setting the pre-radio and exposure time in the known device, the sequence of the individual processes takes place using rotary selectors, as used in automatic telephone systems, and by means of other switching devices, through which the beginning and end of the successive processes are monitored. Such facilities, however, are very costly and require a relatively small amount of space to accommodate them.
In addition, putting them into operation is cumbersome, as precautions must be taken to reduce the AC voltage used for the spectral analysis from 110 or 220 volts to lower DC voltages.
The known device, made up of a relatively large number of individual parts, did not seem to be replaceable by a simpler device. In the relevant literature, there is also a note that the requirements that such a device must meet can probably not easily be met by a different design. Contrary to this opinion represented in expert circles, however, it has been possible to create a Vorriehtung that solves the tasks in a simple manner and with a noticeably low cost of equipment and manufacturing time, without the known device inferior in its performance .
According to the invention, in a device for spectral analytical investigations, in which the adjustable work processes automatically follow one another and are monitored, two disks are provided under the action of tension forces, by means of which the switching processes required for the photographing of the spectrum are triggered after the pre-radio or exposure time has elapsed are in such a way that by means of the pre-radio disk driven via a clutch, another clutch is actuated after the pre-radio time has elapsed, which sets the exposure disk in motion
and that at least the two discs automatically return to the starting position after the work schedule has expired.
The drawing shows, for example, an embodiment of the device according to the invention.
A synchronous motor a, the shaft of which rotates once per minute, drives the pre-radio disk d via a clutch b and a pinion c. When the clutch b is opened, the pre-radio disk is caused by the action of a spring e to rotate with its axis opposite to its drive direction t until a stop f ′ firmly connected to the axis strikes the stop f. The stop f is adjustable, so that, depending on the position of the stop f, the time disc d has to cover long distances until it actuates a clutch h, m described below.
In this way there is the possibility of a stepless setting of the pre-radio time. The pre-radio disc d carries a resilient stop g, which is supported on a rod d 'connected to the disc and, after the set pre-radio time has elapsed, takes a lever h with it by means of a rod-shaped extension s h' of this lever. The pivot point i of the lever h is placed in the shaft of the exposure disk k.
The other free end of the lever engages a toothed intermediate disk m with a pinion n, so that the movement of the motor over the latter and over the intermediate disk w moves the exposure disk k against the tension of a spring o until the exposure time has expired is and a stop p on the washer em opens two switches.
Before the mechanical coupling h, m couples the pinion and the disk k and thus the actuation disk k is driven, this disk k has been turned back by the spring o until a stop q 'connected to it hits a stop q . The exposure time can be set by adjusting the stop q.
The mode of operation of the device is described below:
The pre-spark and exposure time is set from the start at r and s. Both times can, for example, together be a maximum of 8 minutes. They are set on a scale that is graduated in minutes and seconds. The switch-on pushbutton 1 will now be actuated and causes a circuit to be established in that the current from the mains terminal S takes its way via the lines 2 to 6, wherein it the coil 7 of a switching slot. s flows through and returns to the mains terminal T. The contactor puts the main switch 8 on.
At the same time, a self-holding circuit is closed, so that the coil 7 remains energized even when the switch-on pushbutton 1 is opened again in the meantime. The self-holding circuit runs from S via lines 2 and 3 to 9 and via the closed contact bridge 10 of the switch to line 11 and from there, through lines 12 and 13 to a closed switch 14 and via lines 15 and 16, and over the previously inserted contact 17 of the main switch 8 and from there through the line 18, the coil 7 and the line 6 to the mains terminal T back.
By inserting the switch 8, a spark generator 19 and the synchronous motor a are connected to voltage and put into operation. In addition, the clutch b is engaged between the motor shaft 20 and the drive shaft 21. The resulting circuit runs from the network terminal T to the node 22, through the line 23, further through the coil 24 of the clutch b, which is operated electromagnetically and from there through the line 25 via a closed switch 26 through the Lines 27 to 29, also via a further switch 30,
from there via lines 31 and 32 and the main switch as well as via line 2 to the mains terminal S back. The coil 24 also causes a switch 33, which is connected in parallel to the switch 26 and is included in a branch circuit 34, to close.
The purpose of the same results from the mode of operation of the device. As has already been mentioned, when the device is de-energized, the pre-radio disk d is rotated under the action of the spring e.
This rotation continues until the corresponding. The stop set for the pre-radio time is reached. As a result, the stop g of the pre-radio disk d is set back by a corresponding distance from the point of engagement of the exposure disk k.
After switching on by pressing the push button 1, the pre-radio disk d is first moved by the pinion c in the direction of the arrow t, thus opening the switch 26. As a result, without a branch circuit 34, the clutch coil 24 would be de-energized and the transmission shaft 21 would be switched off. Ut, to avoid dites, the branch circuit is provided, the switch 26 is now by no means superfluous, but has the task of ensuring that after the work plan has expired, for the purpose of repeating the same, the pre-radio disc must be completely turned back to the starting position otherwise a contact closure at 26 is not possible and the coil 24 cannot receive any excitation.
After the set pre-radio time has elapsed, the stop g of the pre-radio disc hits the extension h'des lever h and rotates the lever h until its free end opens a switch 35, which interrupts the previously existing circuit for the lamp 36 of the projection apparatus. By. the movement of the lever h engages the idler gear m with the pinion n and moves in the direction of the arrow? turned. Since the intermediate disk) m meshes with the exposure disk k, the latter experiences a rotation counter to the direction of rotation aimed at by the spring o. The direction of movement of k is indicated by the direction of the arrow v.
As a result of the movement of the exposure disk k, a stop q 'connected to it, which rested on the adjustable stop q before the device was started up, is lifted from the latter and a switch 37 is closed, whereby the photo shutter is in the open position .
(Conversely, when the stop q 'hits the stop q, the switch 37 is opened.) The current runs from the mains terminal T via the main switch 8 to the node 22, from there through the lines 38 and 39 to the photo device 40 and from there out through the lines 41 and 25 through the closed switch 33 and the branch circuit 34, also through the switch 30 and the lines 31 and 32 as well as the main switch 8 and the line 2 to the mains terminal)? back.
Wä. During the rotation of the exposure disc, the pre-spark disc continues to move and in the process tensions a spring w of the stop g. After the exposure time has elapsed, a stop attached to the intermediate pane hits the switching pieces of the holder 14 and 30 and opens the same. As a result, the main switch 8 is switched off, the motor, the clutch 6 and the photo loss of the photo device 40 are de-energized.
The pre-radio and exposure disks are now free to move again, since the auxiliary gears c, n are no longer connected to the motor by the coupling b, and are returned to their original position by the action of the tension of the springs e and o. position turned back. By moving the switch-on push button 1, the process can be started again. It then takes place again in the prescribed manner and can therefore be repeated as required. The return of the disks is slowed down by simple centrifugal brakes, not shown, to such an extent that an adjustment of the time stops f and q is not to be feared.
If it does not prove necessary to switch off the entire analysis system, as is necessary, for example, when the electrodes are to be replaced, a safety holder 42 is closed right at the beginning by which the switch 14 is bridged so that when the stop hits p 14 is open, but its circuit remains closed via 42. The coil 7 of the contactor is therefore still energized. The spark generator 19 and the synchronous motor a remain energized, but the circuit for the clutch b is interrupted by the switch 30.
Since the clutch b has been released, the pre-radio and exposure disks are turned back under the action of the springs e and o to the stops f and q. At this moment the switch 26 closes. The coil 24 of the clutch is connected to voltage again and the process begins anew. In this case, the device is responsible for the automatic control of the recording. Spark curves suitable. With these recordings, the changes in the spectrum with the duration of the effect of the discharge are observed by taking individual recordings at certain time intervals.
There is a short pause between the individual shots, which is necessary to adjust the cassette respectively. the aperture in front of the gap is necessary.
If the work schedule is to be interrupted during operation, all that needs to be done is to press the hold button. The interruption of the holding circuit for the contactor caused by this means that the entire device is made free of tension and here, too, the device automatically returns to its starting position.
Just as it is possible to open the photo shutter, a corresponding electrical control can also be provided to fold up the adjustment lens or at another point in time to move the photo plate.
The mechanical coupling h, m can also be replaced by an electromagnetic one. In this case, the training of the device part for the Vorfunkseheibe at the Balichtung disc and the intermediate disc is repeated in this case. Finally, several such sub-devices can be arranged one behind the other in order to add other time-selectable sections to the schedule. The required switching operations on the camera by means of the panes need not necessarily be triggered electrically, as in the example described above.
