Description

  

  Dispositif de serrage de câble de frein de cycle.    Les dispositifs de serrage de câble les  plus connus consistent     en.    une tête de vis  pourvue d'un alésage perpendiculaire à l'axe  de la vis et destiné au passage du câble qu'il  s'agit de fixer. Or, l'emploi de pareils dispo  sitifs est peu commode puisque, pour peu que  le toron se disloque, par exemple par suite  de manipulation du câble, il devient très dif  ficile     d'introduire    son extrémité dans l'alé  sage.  



  Pour obvier à cet inconvénient, la pré  sente     invention    a pour objet un dispositif de  serrage de câble de frein de cycle, compor  tant une vis à tête cylindrique pourvue d'une  entaille oblique par rapport à l'axe de la vis,  entaille constituant le logement du câble qu'il  s'agit de serrer, la vis étant munie d'au  moins un écrou, un levier de frein présentant  un alésage correspondant au diamètre de la  tête cylindrique et dont l'épaisseur est plus  grande que la distance entre le fond de la  fente oblique et le commencement du file  tage de la vis, étant monté sur     cette    tête cy  lindrique, tous ces organes étant établis de    telle     sorte    que le câble,

       introduit    dans la  fente     oblique    de la tête cylindrique, y est  bloqué par le levier de frein serré contre le  câble par l'écrou.  



  Le dessin annexé, donné à titre d'exem  ple, représente une forme d'exécution du dis  positif de serrage selon l'invention.  



  La     fig.    1 en est, à une échelle agrandie,  une élévation montrant le dispositif de ser  rage avec ses parties constitutives desserrées.  



  La     fig.    2 est une vue en bout, du côté de  l'écrou.  



  La     fig.    3 est une élévation semblable à  celle de     fig.    1 montrant le dispositif de ser  rage en service sur le câble de frein.  



  La     fig.    4 est une vue en bout de     fig.    3,  côté câble.  



  Le dispositif de serrage représenté com  porte une vis 1 à tête cylindrique 2. La tête  est pourvue d'une entaille 3; oblique par rap  port à l'axe de la vis et correspondant à peu  près au diamètre du câble 4. Sur la vis est  monts un écrou 5, cas échéant un     contre-          écrou    (non représenté au dessin), ainsi que      le levier de frein 6, dont l'alésage corres  pond au diamètre de la tête cylindrique.  



  La fig. 1 montre le dispositif de serrage  avant .son utilisation. Le câble 4 est introduit  dans la     fente    oblique 3, ce qui ne présente  aucune difficulté et s'opère sans     tâtonnement.     Une fois le câble en place, on visse l'écrou 5  contre la tête 2 jusqu'à ce que le levier de  frein 6 soit bloqué entre le câble 4 et l'écrou  5. Le dispositif de serrage se présente alors  comme représenté en fig. 3.  



  Le blocage est efficace, parce que l'épais  seur du levier de frein 6 est plus grande que  la distance entre le fond de la fente 3 de la  tête cylindrique et le commencement du file  tage de la vis 1. Le montage est ainsi des  plus simples et des plus rapides.

       inserted into the oblique slot of the cylindrical head, is blocked there by the brake lever clamped against the cable by the nut.



  The accompanying drawing, given by way of example, represents an embodiment of the clamping device according to the invention.



  Fig. 1 is, on an enlarged scale, an elevation showing the clamping device with its constituent parts loosened.



  Fig. 2 is an end view, from the side of the nut.



  Fig. 3 is an elevation similar to that of FIG. 1 showing the clamping device in use on the brake cable.

  The clamping device shown com carries a screw 1 with a cylindrical head 2. The head is provided with a notch 3; oblique with respect to the axis of the screw and corresponding approximately to the diameter of the cable 4. On the screw is mounted a nut 5, if necessary a lock nut (not shown in the drawing), as well as the brake lever 6, the bore of which corresponds to the diameter of the cylindrical head.



  Fig. 1 shows the clamping device before its use. The cable 4 is introduced into the oblique slot 3, which presents no difficulty and operates without trial and error. Once the cable is in place, the nut 5 is screwed against the head 2 until the brake lever 6 is locked between the cable 4 and the nut 5. The clamping device is then as shown in fig. . 3.



  The blocking is effective, because the thickness of the brake lever 6 is greater than the distance between the bottom of the slot 3 of the cylindrical head and the beginning of the thread of the screw 1. The assembly is thus of the most simple and fastest.
