Control device for shutter of cinematographic apparatus. We know that in cinematographic cameras and more particularly in cameras, it is necessary, to obtain fades or for other similar effects, to act on the shutter so as to modify its current opening. Steps. . For this purpose, the shutters generally consist of two key elements capable of gradually forming an opaque curtain at the discretion of the operator, going until completely closing the window of the device.
This progressive action in the direction of closing or opening is more generally obtained by means of a sliding sleeve whose rotation is caused by a fixed finger engaging in a helical ramp formed in the sleeve. This positive device has the drawback of being the object of fairly rapid wear of the finger and the lips of the ramp and of taking play very quickly.
Other devices with multiple connecting rods are still used, but weigh down the apparatus and complicate it unnecessarily. The object of the present invention is to provide an extremely simple and robust device; in which any game is made im possible.
The control device for a shutter of a cinematographic apparatus formed of two elements which can be moved relative to one another according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises two concentric shafts which control said shutter elements and of which each fixedly carries a pinion with oblique teeth meshing with a pinion mounted on an intermediate shaft and movable axially,
the pinions of the two concentric shafts and the pinions of the intermediate shaft being with reverse oblique teeth so that any longitudinal displacement of the intermediate pinions corresponds to an angular displacement of one of the pinions of the concentric shafts with respect to the other gear of concentric shafts.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the control device for a shutter according to the invention, as well as a variant of detail.
Fig. 1 is an overview of tick diagram.
Fig. 2 shows the method of mounting a rotary shutter on the two control shafts of this embodiment.
Fig. 3 shows the method of mounting the actuating cams of a rectilinear displacement shutter.
The device consists of a first pinion 1 (fig. 1), with oblique toothing, wedged on a shaft 2 controlling one of the elements of the shutter, and in Him second pinion 3, also with oblique toothing but inclined. its reverse, integral with a hollow shaft 4 running the shaft 2 and controlling the other element of the shutter.
The shafts 2 and 4 are intended to control the two blades 5 and 6 of a rotary shutter (fig. 2) and are provided, for this purpose, with flanges 7 and 8 allowing the attachment of said blades.
The carrier shaft 2 is journaled in the flanges 9 and 10 and is driven, thanks to a pinion 11, by a toothed wheel 12 forming part of the mechanism of the apparatus.
The two pinions 1 and 3 mesh with an intermediate pinion, with two reverse ob lique teeth 13 and 14, of a length such that this pinion can slide on its axis 15 while remaining meshed with the pinions 1 and 3.
The intermediate pinion can be in one piece or consist of two juxtaposed pinions. rue fork 16 or any other suitable device makes it possible to act on the pinion to make it slide.
It is obvious that the pinion could be integral with the axis 15 on which it would be possible to act to ensure the translation of the double pinion 13-14.
In both cases, it is preferable that the control of this translation can be operated with precision. To this end, the control can be carried out by means of a 1st rack 17 and a toothed wheel 18 or any other similar means appropriate to the mode of translation of the pinion adopted. The operation of the device is as follows: Controlled by the wheel 1.2 and its pinion 11, the shaft 2 is driven in a rotational movement when the camera is turned on. The flange 7 then drives the blade 5 of the shutter.
Pinion 1, integral with the shaft. 2, simultaneously drags the intermediate pinion 13-14 which, therefore, acts on the pinion 3 and the shaft 4. The collar 8 drives the second blade 6 of the shutter. The two blades 5 and 6 thus rotate synchronously with the obvious condition that the pinions 1 and 3, on the one hand, and 13 and 14, on the other hand, are of the same diameter.
However, it will be appreciated that, depending on the position of the pinions 13-14 relative to the pinions 1 and 3, the offset between the blades may differ. Indeed, it can be seen that any longitudinal displacement of the pinions 13-14 corresponds to a relative angular displacement between the pinions 1 and 3, this because of the obliquity of the teeth.
By acting, the pinions 13-14 to make them slide, it is therefore possible, even while the device is in operation, to cause the two shafts 2 and 4 to rotate relative to one another.
It will be noted, on the other hand, that this positive say is extremely sensitive since a displacement of the pinion 13-1-1 has a double effect on the offset of the shutter blades.
It is obvious that if the shutter, instead of being of the rotary type, consists of two planar elements superimposed with reciprocating reciprocating displacement each provided with an opening which can be placed vis-à-vis the window. 'exhibition, shafts 2 and 4 are carriers of cams 19 and 20 (fi-. 3)
the offset of which will vary according to the relative positions of the shafts 2 and 4 and which act on lan terns integral with said elements to increase or decrease the time during which the two openings of the elements pass at the same time vis-à-vis the window exposure.
