Description
Press mold for shaping wood and plastics.
The subject matter of the present invention is a mold for molding wood and plastics and is characterized in that the mold consists at least partly of heat-insulating material and that its inner surface is at least partly covered with metal that is heated by an electric current can.
An embodiment of the subject of the invention for pressing skis is shown on the accompanying drawing sheet:
1 shows the compression mold in longitudinal section with the inserted straight raw ski in elevation.
FIG. 2 shows a cross section through the compression mold with the ski along the line a-b in FIG. 1.
1 is the die, which is made entirely of wood, that is to say of a material that insulates against heat, and has the longitudinal profile of the running surface of the finished ski 4 on the upper side. 2 is the male part, which has the longitudinal profile of the surface of the finished ski 4 on its underside. 3 is a thin metal strip, e.g. B. made of brass, which lies on the surface of the die 1 and whose ends 3 ', so that they can be connected to an electrical power source, protrude slightly on both sides of the die.
Die and patrix can also consist entirely or partially of a different heat-insulating material than wood. The patrix could also be provided with a metal coating.
The ski 4 has three layers, for example, that is to say there are three layers of wood on top of one another, the topmost of which is the thickest. The ski is bent as follows:
The upper layers are placed on the die after they have been provided with glue beforehand. The ends of the metal strip 3 are then connected to a power source (not shown). Then the patrix is pressed down on the ski in the direction of the arrows 5 (e.g. by means of spindles) while at the same time increasing the voltage until the band 3 is sufficiently warm (about 100 degrees Celsius).
After a relatively short time, the ski can be removed from the mold, whereupon the various pieces of wood are glued together well and the ski has not only obtained the desired shape. but also maintains.
The mold shown is cheap and you can work with it quickly and regulate the degree of heat as you like by the current dosage.
