Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung einer neuen Base. Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einer neuen Base gelangt, wenn man das Amid aus technischer Stearinsäure mit Formaldehyd zum N-Methylolamid umsetzt und anschlie- Bend auf das so erhaltene N-Methylolamid ein Salz des o-Phenylendiamins und Form aldehyd einwirken lässt.
Die Umsetzung des N-Methylolamids mit dem Salz wird zweckmässig in Gegenwart eines Lösungsmittels und vorteilhaft unter Zusatz einer Säure ausgeführt, z. B. in An wesenheit von Eisessig, welcher gleichzeitig als Lösungsmittel wirkt.
Die neue Base bildet ein weisses, fettiges Pulver, das in verdünnten Säuren unter Bil dung schäumender Lösungen löslich ist. Die Salze der neuen Base können als Textilhilfs mittel, z. B. als Weichmachungsmittel, An wendung finden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> In eine Lösung von 3,6 Teilen frisch destilliertem o-Phenylendiamin in 25 Teilen Eisessig werden bei 50-60 unter Rühren im. Stickstoffstrom 9,5 Teilen Stearinsäure- N-methylolamid, welches aus technischem Stearinsäureamid mit Formaldehyd erhalten wurde, eingetragen und, wenn alles gelöst ist, bei 70-75 4 Teile Paraformaldehyd zu gefügt.
Das Reaktionsgemisch wird während zirka 2 Stunden unter Rühren auf 70-80 erhitzt, worauf eine Probe des Reaktions gemisches, mit etwas Ameisensäure versetzt, in Wasser klar löslich ist. Der Eisessig wird im Vakuum abdestilliert, der Rückstand mit Wasser und verdünnter Natronlauge ver rührt, filtriert und mit Wasser bis zur neu tralen Reaktion gewaschen. Man erhält die neue Base als weisses, fettiges Pulver, das in verdünnten Säuren unter Bildung schäumen der Lösungen löslich ist.

It has been found that a new base is obtained if the amide from technical stearic acid is reacted with formaldehyde to give N-methylolamide and then a salt of o-phenylenediamine and formaldehyde is allowed to act on the N-methylolamide obtained in this way.
The reaction of the N-methylolamide with the salt is expediently carried out in the presence of a solvent and advantageously with the addition of an acid, e.g. B. in the presence of glacial acetic acid, which also acts as a solvent.
The new base forms a white, greasy powder that is soluble in dilute acids to form foaming solutions. The salts of the new base can be used as textile auxiliaries such. B. as a plasticizer, to find application.
<I> Example: </I> In a solution of 3.6 parts of freshly distilled o-phenylenediamine in 25 parts of glacial acetic acid, im. Nitrogen stream 9.5 parts of stearic acid N-methylolamide, which was obtained from technical stearic acid amide with formaldehyde, entered and, when everything has dissolved, 4 parts of paraformaldehyde are added at 70-75.
The reaction mixture is heated to 70-80 for about 2 hours while stirring, whereupon a sample of the reaction mixture, mixed with a little formic acid, is clearly soluble in water. The glacial acetic acid is distilled off in vacuo, the residue is stirred with water and dilute sodium hydroxide solution, filtered and washed with water until the reaction is neutral. The new base is obtained as a white, fatty powder which is soluble in dilute acids with the formation of foaming of the solutions.
