thermal power plant with gas turbine, a combustion air preheater that can be acted upon by the exhaust gases from the gas turbine and a steam generator that can be acted upon by the same.
It is known to generate steam with the exhaust gases from gas turbines and to use them in steam turbines or heating systems after these exhaust gases have already been passed through a preheater for the combustion air of the gas turbine, so that they are used in series.
This arrangement has the advantage that it does not require a slide valve in the exhaust pipe, on the other hand it has the serious disadvantage that the same amount of gas always flows through both heat exchangers, the one for air preheating and the one for steam generation, so that the The ratio of the heat quantities transferred in these heat exchangers for the selected exchange surfaces is given once and for all for every load.
It is more advantageous if, according to the invention, two ver connected to the turbine housing and respectively to the combustion air preheater. Lines leading to the steam generator are arranged with an adjusting element for changing the ratio of the flow rates of these lines.
The exhaust gas line of the gas turbine expediently merges into two lines provided with an adjusting element, one of which is led to the preheater for the combustion air and the other to the waste heat boiler.
The invention is explained using the drawing, for example.
Fig. 1 shows schematically an example of a thermal power plant in plan and Fig. 2 in a larger scale in elevation of the parts under consideration here.
In Fig. 1, 1 is a gas turbine, 2 is a compressor driven by it, 3 is an electric power generator on the same shaft for generating the useful power, 4 is an air preheater, 5 is a combustion chamber and 6 is a waste heat boiler for generating steam. The open process of the working medium is as follows: air enters the compressor 2 at 7, is preheated in the preheater 4 and, together with fuel, enters the combustion chamber 5, where ignition takes place. The resulting hot gases flow to the gas turbine 1 and do work there.
The exhaust gases divide and can flow through the lines 8 and 9 partly to the preheater 4 of the combustion air, partly to the waste heat boiler 6 for generating steam and then to the outside or to other recycling points.
The quantity ratio of the dividing exhaust gases is now set, for example, as illustrated in FIG. 2. An actuator 10 at the division point can be set so that any ratio of division can be established.
If, for example, line 9 is completely shut off so that the system runs without steam generation and the entire amount of exhaust gas flows through line 8 to preheater 4, it works with the best thermal efficiency, based on the electrical power it generates. The air should enter the preheater at around 200 C, where it is heated to around 800 C, whereupon the combustion gases flow to the turbine at around 600 C.
A thermal efficiency of around 26 to 28 can be achieved today.
The more the setting element 10 releases the line 9 to the boiler 6, the less the air is preheated by the exhaust gases, the more fuel must be added to the combustion chamber 5 in order to reach the inlet temperature of 600 C upstream of the turbine, the worse the thermal efficiency of this side of the system becomes, while the other side, that is the side of the steam generation, has a correspondingly increasing benefit.
To aiilaen with combustion turbines. which have to generate a relatively large amount of steam with small loads in order to actually be able to release it, it is useful. to install a burner in the line 9, through which the missing amount of heat is supplied.
