Method for chopping small crops arranged in rows and for
Exercise of this procedure specific, mobile hoe.
The mechanical chopping of rows of small crops such. B. potatoes, sugar beets, etc., has so far been done by means of a chopping plow, which has several chopping shares which penetrate the ground with their tips and, as the chopping plow moves forward, chop the upper soil layer by digging it up.
This chopping method, as effective as it may be at the hooked areas, has the disadvantage that the plants can only be chopped up to a certain distance in order not to chop them up yourself.
The invention is intended to remedy this disadvantage of the mechanical chopping of small crops arranged in rows, namely by creating a more advantageous method according to which at least one chopping wheel provided with a ring of chopping prongs is brought to roll along the rows of plants, thereby making the chopping prongs to let this chopping wheel penetrate one after the other into the ground in a rolling motion and thus chop up the latter.
After this process. the bottom can be heard until significantly closer to a. n Chop up the plants.
The invention also encompasses a mobile device intended for carrying out this method, which is characterized by at least one chopping wheel, which carries a wreath since the chopping prongs are pointing downwards, which when the chopping device is used, when it is moved in the direction of the crop rows, rolling the ground To be able to hack movement.
A mobile chopping device vera which is suitable for carrying out the method according to the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing as an example. nschichticht.
In Figs. 1, 2 and 3 of this drawing, this mobile chopping device is shown respectively in a side view, in a rear view and in a top view.
With a two-wheeled chassis with a rear cross bar al is referred to, which carries three rearwardly projecting cantilever arms b, at the free ends of which certain chopping wheels for chopping potatoes are adjustable and removable in pairs against each other. Depending on the intended use, other soil cultivation tools can of course also be attached to the extension arms b. Said chopping wheels c are rotatably mounted on a bearing pin and provided with a ring of resiliently formed chopping prongs d which are bent towards the side of the opposite chopping wheel.
The chopping wheels, which each form a pair, are arranged in such a way that when the chopping device is used, when the same is pulled in the direction of the potato rows, the chopping tines of two chopping wheels forming a pair are chopping up the earth dams covering the potato tubers from both of their long sides in a rolling motion as shown in the drawing. As mentioned above, the chopping wheels are adjustable on all sides, so that it is possible to transport soil to the plants at the same time as they are chopping, in contrast to previously known chopping devices, which tend to move the soil away from the plants.
On the crossbar a1 there are also resilient hoe shares e for chopping up the furrows.
