Description

  La.     fig.   1- montre en     penp#ective    un tron  çon d'une série     d'élèmentode    fermeture     eom-          portant    chacun dieux spires jointives;  La     fig.    2 représente, en coupe axiale, le  même tronçon dans lequel les spires ont été  déplacées latéralement, les unes par     ra-pport     aux     autresdans.    le sens de la     flklie    B;

    La     fio,.   3 est, une vue, en plan de la     fig.    2  dans le, sens de la flècheA;  La     fig.    4 est une vue semblableà la     fig.    2  d'une. variante;    La     fig.   à est une vue (le face d'une pre  mière forme d'exécution de la fermeture  à curseur;

    La     Ao#   6 montre,à plus grande échelle,  un détail de     #-ite    forme -d'exécution, eu     #coupe     suivant la ligne6-6 de la     fig.   7;  La     fig.   7 est une vue en plan de la,     fig.   6;       La        fig.   8 représente une vue de face d'une  deuxième forme d'exécution de la fermeture  à curseur;

    La     fig.   9 en est une vue de détailà plus       grandeéclielle,    en coupe suivant la ligne9-9  de la,     fig.   10;  La     fig.   10 est une     vueen    plan de la     fig.   9;  La     fig.   11 est une vue semblableà celle  de, la     fi,ol.   10, mais montrant une variante de  suspension -des spires,;  La     fig.    12 représente une vue en     pland'un     curseur;

    La fig. 13 est une vue de profil, et la fig. 1.4 en est une vue en bout.

       fig.

Closure comprising two series of closure elements which engage one another. The present invention relates to a fer- meturia comprising -two series of elements, of closure coming to engage with each other and in which said elements -of each of the series, located at one end. face, of, the other are constituted by the turns, of winding 11161 # ie (; idals to # reverse direction and to turns, spaced apart.

  The closure according to the invention is charac- terized in that dha # eun closure elements -at least one of the aforementioned two series consists of a group -d 'at least two contiguous turns belonging to two helical windings of the same direction, and in ee that Yespaee included between two groups, successive of -spires, contiguous with one. of the 4ries is, smaller, than the thickness of the closing element of the other series.

  The accompanying drawing shows, by by way of examples, two embodiments of the closure according to the invention.

  Fig.  1-  shows in perspective a section of a series of closing ele- ments each comprising gods contiguous turns; Fig. 2 shows, in axial section, the same section in which the turns have been moved laterally, one by ra-pport aux autresdans. the meaning of flklie B;

    The Ao #  6  shows,  at  larger scale, a detail of # -ite form-of execution, in #cut along line  6-6 < / B> of fig.  7;  Fig.  7  is a plan view of the, fig.  6;  Fig.  8  shows a front view of a second embodiment of the   slider closure;

    Fig.  9  is a detail view  at  larger, in section along the line  9-9  of the, fig.  10;  Fig.  10  is a plan view of fig.  9;  Fig.  11  is a view similar to  to  that of, fi, ol.  10,  but showing a variant of suspension -of the coils ,; Fig. 12 is a plan view of a cursor;

    Fig. 13 is a side view, and fig. 1.4 is an end view.

  The closure comprises two o6ries -d # 61,6- situated one opposite the other, as will be described below.

  In fig. 1 and 2, N designates a section of one of these series - comprising closing elements made up #chiacun by a group of two contiguous turns y </ B> and z of two in helical bearings to turns. spaced. The contiguous turns y -and ?, shown at la.

       fig. 1, are in #ec> ntact on a continuous helical line. A fig. 2, where the whorls, joined y and cz are transversely shifted, the contact occurs in each group of whorls of the N series at diametrically opposite points P 6s , as indicated to in fig. 3,

  . c designates the thickness of the -two turns y and z measured at their point of -conta-ct P and i - designates the space between two successive groups of turns, each formed by two turns, y and z.

   1 The space i of a series of closing elements is normally smaller than the combined thickness c of the contiguous turns of the closing elements of the -opposite series, intended to come into contact with the first series. If one of the series compoirte, only one in helical bearing and the other two, it is understood that the space i for the series to two windings will be smaller than the thickness. of the single coil - constituting the closing element of the other series.

  Relative dislocation of the turns of each closure member of each of the series, in a transverse direction, occurs when these series are in engagement with each other. If, -on the contrary, the series are released, entirely or in a section, the turns of the elements of a series can ocup- either along the entire f ermetuTe, or locally, or l one or the other of the relative positions shown in Figs. 1 and 2, respectively.

   In the closed closure, the relative dislocation of the turns - of each element - of a series, is not only a function of the ratio between the thickness of the metal wire and the pitch of the windings, but it also varies according to the forces at which to the subject (elastic forces, lateral traation, etc.). Consequently, the extent of the transverse of. turns in the, closed closure can not. to be predetermined in an exact way.

  Fig. 4 represents a section of a -serit comprising for -each iron element three spirals f, g, h; i designates h, distance between two successive groups of spiral strands.

  Fig. to represents a form, execution of a closure comprising a, series N whose elements of closure-, s # have formed by groups, & ux turns y and z and another M series whose closing elements are f ormated, by a single turn x.

   The elements of the M series are # con.stit.uës, by the. turns of a winding of metal wire wound to warped, and the elements #of the series N by the contiguous turns y </ B> and r, of two windings, also of metal wire but wound to right, all windings having the same pitch, p (fig. 6). Each series is attached to a S band made of a flexible material, for example naked fabric,

   by means of a T wire as shown in fig. 5 and 7. In addition, the closure has an R cursor for . to perform the -sepair, and the engagement Met N. series

  The spaces included, between two successive x turns are more, -small, than the Iàpaisis, fflr c -jointing y and z < / B> and the spaces, including, between two groups of joined turns y and z are smaller, - than the ep, a, i # sisor, of a whorl> x.

  Whereas in the open closure, the turns of the -elements can be either dislocated (fig. 2), or in axial alignment (fig. 1), in lia. closing closed, that is # st-à -, (Iire with the M and N series engaged. the y and z turns, are fiercely dislocated transversely with respect to each other.

   This is. due to the fact, of a pa-Tt, that the, series, M -tends to maintain-its shape -and, on the other hand, that, the resistance offered. by the series NÙ a transverse release of the turns y and, z is less than the force which is necessary POUT dictate -the series M, that this one -is an elastic material or not.

  The & engagement- M and N in engagement, -not be possible by lateral traction, that is to say by a1e # traction exerted in a directian transverse to the axes of the engaged hydraulics.

   This will be understood more easily from FIGS. 6 and 7, which show that, in the closed fenneturi--, uu, of the two contact points P, of the turns y and < B> z, of the Nest series to inside the seam of the 9 series. The thickness at point P corresponds to < / B> the thickness of the turns y and z, slums only at any point k, 1, nor ... of interest, ee-,

            apparent tion- of the turns of these elements, .--- with the series, M, the thickness is that of a single wire, therefore. smaller than the, esp "e- i taken between the successive turns of the series M, this space i being itself smaller than the thickness c. When the turns y -and z are embedded, c, & es between successive turns of the M series, they cannot be, withdrawn, at less than the spaces i, between the successive turnsiv,

  es x, are not é, 'I # argils ,. Likewise the spheres, es x cannot be removed from between the elements of the, # series- N, to less than the, spaces i 'are widened to proximity of points, P, where the turns y and z establishing a cantact. By exerting lateral traction on the closed zipper, any to tendency to occur,

   an expansion of the series is prevented by the #compression of the neighboring parts on each side of the. elementary part envisioned.

   We will understand that in the position shown in fig. 6 and 7, the sues, M and N in engagement allow a limited relative dislocation (translation, and rota; tion) in a transverse direction to the axes of the engaged springs. By, co-ns, equ # ent, closure is extremely flexible to use.

   It will produce a true M and N series interlock only when the close is subjected to a lateral traction.

  Even with extremely strong lateral traction, the series of elements cannot be separated, and they also remain engaged when there is. closure is bent in any direction, as long as the relation between spaces i, i ' and P-thick-seuw e suhsista. These recommendations remain valid with very small radii of curvature.

   Under, a tor- #sion effort, the engagement of the closing elements in priority is internalized.

  The ferixiet-ure described presents, moreover, the avautagge, that it # not p is not changed, or not appreciably changed, when the series M and N < / I> are taken, the effect of entanglement owing, exel-usively to the transverse dislocation of the turns y and z. It is therefore not the elastic contra, ctio, n, of the windings which is essential,

   here as for some known closures. To close the. closed, we use a cursor R. By moving -of this eureuT in the, -direction of, the arrow  E  (fig.  5), </ B > them. series,  M  and   N   are rounded and unilaterally extended, in elementary # su1ceestsive, oppoised parts;

      one  à  Fautre, allowing as well as the turns x -of  la,  series  M  enter one after # the # other, - - in # the spaces i 'of the, series   N,   and that, simultaneously, the elements, - (the, series  N  enter Fun after;

   the other -in -the interstices, ide da, series M. The clearance of, series M and N </ B > is, effe # e- killed by displaicament of the euroeux in the opposite direction.

  In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 8, 9 and 10, each. series M and N com- po, rte, cl, e) ux, rouou, le, ment, s helicoïdaux - not even p, </ B > the windings of the, series M being wound à , olau, 6he, slums than those of -la , series N are coiled to diroite. The contiguous turns w and x of the windings of IIa, series M and the contiguous turns y and,

      z of the enrons of the series, N are lightly retained and are etched to a S, </ B> in a flexible material, by T and Tl yarns respectively. When the closure is closed, # each group, suecessif of turns, joined w and x of- the series M enters the spaces between the successive igwoupes -d #e turns y -and z of the other series N and vice versa.

  Figs. 9 and 1.0 show that in the armed f closure, a dies, # àP_.ux points -da </ B > contiaict P 'of the dislocated whorls w and x of:

   the series M -is inside inside the, contaur of the, selector N, and that one of the two points, of contaa-t P - of the turns y and z is also inside , of the contour of # la, series M. L '# 6pai # ss # eur of elements elements, oux points P and P 'respecitively is designated even c,

          While, the thickness at does not matter at any point k, P, 1, 1 '. .. of intersection aprpa, the tension of the various elements is equal to the thickness of a single wire and, therefore, is smaller than Pespa # j < / B> on. f respectively, between elements of the M series and N.

  In this embodiment, the gripping effect is ensured if Pan determines the dimensions of the windings in such a way that the spaces j, f </ B> laiossés between the groups of contiguous turns, neighbors are more, narrow- # s ;, qu-e Vépa, isseu # rr = binée c of the elements of Yau, be series.

  The foundation is identical to that of the embodiment described above. The effect produces this. in principle, same, but more pronounced and more effective.

  The vairiante, represented to in fig. 111, differs from the form of, - xéGui.io.u, from fig. 9 and 10, in that only the turn w of the series M, and S1. 1 turns the turn y </ B> of the N, series are retained by a thread T or T 'respectively, pair example to ribbons 8, while the turns x and. z are not attached at all and can therefore occupy positions:, quekonques with respect to turns -w and y respectively.

   The spaces j, between the groups orcces% ifs of turns, of this series (even # example M), being, more> 6 narrow than the combined thickness c, produce the same effect as the series according to. fiio islands (. 8 and 10. It is necessary to ensure in this closure: l ' that the pairs of juxtaposed turns of each series enter in, the spaces:

       fall, between pairs of turns, juxtaposedi of the other series, and go es -la suc # than with the series JI, N < / B> in engagement, assignment of the elements either w, xy, zw, xy, r, and not XIW-Y, ZX, W-Yl "-.

  These conditions can be achieved, for example by sewing or knotting a single group or a limited number of groups of turns of the M series, of one sheet, and a group or a limited number of groups of turns of the, , surrie, N, on the other hand (for example in; turns, terminals of the Met series N).

  In addition, these conditions can be achieved by using un-cursenr IC such as rQpréo, ent, 6; aux fic. 12 to 14. Of the U, V outputs of this, R cursor for -oliacid series (the the. closing are arranged to different levels and the ±, G and H entries of concluding channels are conformed as indicated at the 13.

  The variant shown  at  la, fig. 11, compared to  at  the form of e # x, 6, put -, on ides fig.  8   to 10,  - offers the following advantages:  l ' lia,  f  closing. can be closed even if it is submissive, while the cursor is being operated,  at  a very strong lateral pull; 2 'flexibility  &,  the. closure is # considerably increased;

     3 ' the closure can be Dourb6e up to a very small turning radius, without harming to , its functioning nor to the effect. got; 4 'any distortion due to toTsion voltages, plarexemipl ,, e, is practically eliminated; 5 ' furthermore, the angle of convergence of the series M and N in the cursor is small and allows one, fprmet-u.rp- easy.

  The effects mentioned are obtained, thanks to the floating turns, x and z des; series-si M and N (fig. 11) which can adapt freely in -des direct- transverse ions -and longiitu- ClinaTes', for different conditions.

  Such effects can be obtained with these series containing two or more floating whorls, and it is the same for the case where only one, two series contains a floating whorl according to, fig. 11, whereas the fault: series is from; uleure represented in fig '. 8 and, 10.

  For the fabrication of isùrie.s, Met   N,   -a can use, metal wire, of any,, any cross section, such as,) -section, wax, ulai-re, elliptical, oval, triangillary, square, or other;

       one ,, can, also, use, filo of different-esseetions, of surf & e # e ru- geusie, or, unequal ,. It is established, however, that from a technical and economical point of view, the greatest advantages can be obtained with it.

       - elements in smooth wire of circular or oval seetion.

  In the series comprising several compartments per element, the elements can be made up of a single thread or by # a-nt, of threads that y has "é1émen1s #.

  In addition, in k% vent closure ,, the transverse section of the coiling, can be a-flat, for example eJIip-hque ,, and the direction of the coiling of a series is indifferent, plouirvu, qu # e., that of the, opposite series is in verse.

   The wire # eo # n # stituantles windings, can be -in a non-metallic material, for example in one; synthetic plastic material.

  The fixing: of the windings on the Tubes can be done, not only by separate son, sewn to said ribbons, as described, but also by means of son, from manufacture with, the, ribbon. This attachment can usually be done by weaving.

  Although in the closure described the closure elements are engaged to away from a -cursor, one could provide a closure, not exhibiting, a cursor.
