Description

Set of constructions. The object of the present invention is a set of constructions. This construction game is characterized by an assortment of. parts all having an equal thickness and having at least one end shaped so that these parts can be assembled together by grooves and tongues, the width of the grooves being equal to that of the tongues, while the width of each part is a multiple of said width of the tongue and groove,

the whole in order to allow an infinity of assemblies between these parts.

The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the set of constructions forming the subject of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a plan view of a box of constructions containing an assortment of parts.

Figs. 2 and 3 are plan and elevation views of a small model Eiffel Tower built. with some of these pieces.

The set shown includes an assortment of pieces, in white wood, all of equal thickness. These parts end at their ends with one or more tabs of square section and of a length equal to three times their thickness. When there is more than one tongue, the groove between two neighboring tongues is of width strictly equal to that of the tongues, that is to say also to the thickness of the parts. The total width of each part is a multiple of the width of each tongue. All these parts are manufactured by machine and are thus of high precision ensuring their absolute interchangeability.

An infinite number of joints can then be made without screws or bolts and forming a solid assembly thanks to the elasticity of the wood. If, however, a tab seems too free, it suffices to moisten it so that it immediately resumes the desired degree of tightening.

The length of the tabs allows up to three pieces to be accommodated at a time perpendicular to the end of the same piece, or to join two V pieces at any angle.

The various body lengths of the parts are always multiples of the body length of the shorter part, in which the length of the body is equal to that of the tabs, so that one long part can be replaced by several shorter pieces assembled end to end.

We can therefore build with this game an infinity of architectural models, from furniture, enclosures, shelters, etc., to chalets, chapels or cathedrals with a real cachet. Civil engineering models can also be built, such as bridges, pylons, Eiffel towers, which can reach the height of a boy, when the assortment of parts is sufficient.

The pieces can be produced in series and at low cost, so that even large assortments are within the reach of all budgets, In sledge games, the pieces can be in varnished wood, in synthetic material, in metal light, etc.

Finally, the great variety of new models that this game allows to create gives it a high educational value for the development of the constructive intelligence of children; the realization of the whole series of models represented in a manual delivered with the parts constitutes a progressive training of the direction of observation.
