Processes for the simultaneous dyeing and finishing of piece goods made of cellulose fibers have been known for a long time. The simplest way to manufacture textile articles with a similar finish is to apply water-insoluble, finely divided pigments to the fiber material together with curable synthetic resin precondensates and the cross-linking catalysts suitable for this. During the subsequent condensation of the resin former, the synthetic resin created in the heat makes the goods crease-proof, and the pigments are fixed on the fiber, with the synthetic resin acting as a binder system for the dyes.
The fixed pigment is then stored exclusively in the synthetic resin layer.
Belgian patent 616 368 describes a process according to which reactive dyes, together with resin precondensates and curing catalysts, are applied to pieces made of predominantly unmixed cellulose fibers, after the resin condensation, the reactive dyes are fixed by an alkali passage of the goods under the influence of dry heat.
DOS 1 619 321 also states that direct dyes should be used in the same padding liquor with the synthetic resin components, applied to the textile material and fixed by lingering and thermal processes, with the condensation of the finishing agent being carried out. This process is also limited to the treatment of cellulose fibers.
From the magazine Textil -Rundschau 1961, issue 9/10, pages 713 to 725, a process for simultaneous dyeing and finishing of polyester fiber / cotton blended fabrics with combinations of vat dyes and dimethylolethylene urea is known, the dyes being in a dispersed state have to. However, because of the moderate dye yields on the cotton content, this process is only limited to the production of light tones.
For fuller color shades, thermosol conditions, a reductive treatment of the goods with a blind vat with subsequent reoxidation of the leuco compound are expressly required. In order to achieve satisfactory usability of such a dye, additional work steps are necessary for its completion, which revive the advantage of the originally single-bath process.
In the Procion synthetic resin process, which is also known, the dye is mainly fixed in the resin layer instead of on the fiber, so that in the end it is not the dye-fiber bond that determines the fastness of the dyeing, but the wash resistance of the synthetic resin with the inside a closed dye component.
It has now been found that mixed fabrics made of cellulose fibers and synthetic fibers, preferably polyester fibers, can be used at the same time, ie. H. can be dyed and crease-resistant in one operation if the textile material is treated with an aqueous liquor,
In addition to reactive dyes and disperse dyes, aminoplast precondensates which are curable in the heat and / or reactant resins which crosslink with the cellulose fibers together with condensation catalysts which have an acidic effect when heated and a mixture of textile auxiliaries as liquor stabilizer,
consisting of aliphatically substituted aminoalkanesulfonic acids and alkoxylated fatty alcohols and / or polyalkylene glycols, contains, impregnated at room temperature, the fabric treated in this way dries, then for thermosolation of the emulsion dyes and for condensation or
Crosslinking of the resin precursors is subjected to the action of dry heat at 140 to 210 C and finally fixes the reactive dyes in an alkaline medium using the wet fixation or the cold dwell method.
Compared with the possibilities cited in the prior art for corresponding processes based on pure cellulose fibers, in the process according to the invention it is necessary to use at least one additional class of dye for dyeing the polyester fiber component of the blended fabric. In the course of these measures, the requirements placed on the bath stability are particularly high because of the possible colloidal instability of the system, which often results from the opposing properties of the liquor components.
Compatibility of the liquor components is not a matter of course in every case. Even when pad dyeing with dis dispersion dyes alone, there is a risk of breaking the dispersion due to spontaneous coarsening of the particles because of the relatively high concentration of dyes. Surprisingly, according to the present invention, it is nevertheless possible to ensure the stability of the liquor by using a suitable protective system.
In general, every process today strives to simplify the handling and implementation of the staining operation as much as possible. As a comparison with the prior art shows, this goal is largely taken into account by the method according to the invention. In addition, the savings in water and energy in the new process are quite considerable, since there is no change in the liquor together with the associated rewarming of the bath, etc. For these reasons, too, the introduction of this method appears to be very promising in practice.
When working in the laboratory, because of the small amount of liquor that is always used and its short exposure time, the stability of the liquor only plays a minor role or the resulting minor inhomogeneities on the goods are negligible. In practice, however, it is very important that a padding liquor prepared for its dyeing process remains stable over a period of, for example, 2 to 3 hours.
The method according to the invention, which can be carried out on a laboratory scale with all commercially available types of curable synthetic resin precondensates for anti-crease finishing, is particularly suitable for reactant resins based on ethylene urea derivatives. In all cases, however, it is necessary to add stabilizers or stabilizing products to the dye bath. A stability as it is required for practical conditions, however, is best achieved with the resins of the type of ethylene urea compounds.
As resin formers for the crease-proof finish of the texti len articles according to the invention with the presence of a catalyst and higher temperature with self-condensation crosslinking aminoplast precondensates of the urea and melamine-formaldehyde resin type come into consideration, for example monomethylolurea, dimethylolurea, hexamethylolmelamine and their methyl ethers or mixtures of these substances.
From the class of reactant resins which react mono- or bifunctionally with the cellulose hydroxyl groups with crosslinking, examples are ring-shaped urea derivatives, in particular methylolethyleneurea, methylolhydroxyethyleneurea, dimethyloldihydroxyethyleneurea, dimethylolethylene urea, dimethyloltriazine urea, dimethylolpropylene
Dimethylolglyoxalmonourein, tetramethylolacethylene diurea (tetramethylolglyoxaldiurein) and dimethylol dihydroxyimidazolone, furthermore dimethyloladipic acid diamide, dimethylolbutanediol diurethane and dimethylolhexahydropyrimidinone. These resin treatment agents are expediently used in the amounts customary in the high-end finishing of textiles of about 1 to 25 percent by weight,
preferably 2 to 15 percent by weight, based on the textile material to be finished, used.
To harden or condense the applied resin formers, the acidic catalysts used in the process according to the invention are chlorides, nitrates or sulphates of zinc, magnesium or ammonium, hydrochlorides of aliphatic or aromatic amines, alkali salts of aliphatic monocarboxylic acids with a halogen atom or halogen acetamides. These catalysts are generally used in the usual amounts, which depend primarily on the amount of resin treatment agent used.
In general, the amount of the catalysts is about 0.3 to 30 percent by weight, preferably 5 to 25 percent by weight, based on the amount of resin formers used.
In the context of the process according to the invention, it was surprisingly found in laboratory and operational tests that the padding liquors can be kept perfectly stable over a period of more than 2 hours due to the influence of the stabilizer mixture explained above, consisting of a non-ionic and an anionic component, while the for the Dyeing and anti-crease finishing measures have been completed with certainty.
In particular, a proportion of 50 to 60% of the anionic oleylmethyltaurine, based on the amount by weight of the nonionic dispersion system based on the reaction product of 1 mole of stearyl alcohol with 25 moles of ethylene oxide, containing 20% by weight of polyethylene glycol with an average molecular weight of 6000, develops in said stabilizer mixture.
a synergistic effect, which is essential for the bath stability.
The general procedure is as follows: In order to fully utilize the advantages of the process according to the invention for improving and maintaining the bath stability in the combined dyeing and finishing liquors, certain conditions must be met in the preparation of these liquors.
The reactive dyes are dissolved in hot water in the usual way and the disperse dyes are dispersed in the usual way with warm water, both solutions are diluted with an available proportion of cold water and then combined with one another. The final temperature of this mixture should not be higher than 25 ° C.
To do this, you are now the stabilizers, if possible dissolved in water, in amounts of 2.5-3 g / 1 oleymethyltaurine (anionic), d. i. 50-60% of the amount of the non-ionic dispersant,
and 5 g / 1 nonionic dispersant based on the reaction product of 1 mole of stearyl alcohol with 25 moles of ethylene oxide (containing 20% polyethylene glycol with a molar weight of about 6000).
"The resin formers are added to the liquor as further additives, and finally the acidic catalyst. The bath is then filled with water to the final volume of one liter.
The sequence of the individual additives described above is preferably adhered to in the preparation of the treatment liquor.
With the liquor obtained in this way, a mixed fabric of the specified composition is padded, padded, dipped or sprayed at room temperature, squeezed off from the excess liquid and dried.
The goods provided with the dyes and anti-crease finishing agents are then subjected to a treatment with dry heat, specifically at fixing or condensing temperatures of 140 to 210 ° C., expediently for 1 to 15 minutes, preferably at 145 to 155 ° C. for 5 to 6 minutes, or at 195 to 205'C within 1 minute.
In the context of this first fixing stage according to the present process, the condensation or crosslinking of the resin precursors and the simultaneous fixation of the dispersion dyes on the polyester component of the fiber mixture take place.
Subsequently, during the second fixing stage with means of continuous passage of the dyed goods through a hot alkali bath at temperatures up to 95 ° C in the course of 3 to 20 seconds, preferably 5 to 15 seconds (wet fixing process), or after padding the Dyeing with a cold, salty alkali liquor and lingering the moist goods in the docked state for 2 to 8 hours, preferably 6 to 7 hours, usually overnight, at room temperature or at a moderately elevated temperature of up to about 40 C (cold dwell process)
the reactive dye on the cellulose fiber portion of the mixed fabric fi xed.
According to the process according to the invention, the color yields are the same or only slightly lower than those after a dyeing process with subsequent finishing. Changes in color, as are often to be expected in a distinct two-stage process of dyeing and finishing, occur in a relatively weak form. The color changes are also less than on uniform, unmixed cellulose or polyester fabrics.
According to the invention, both the coloring effect and the finishing effect are equivalent; H. it has been proven that one effect is not at the expense of the other.
Finally, as far as the practical feasibility of the method according to the invention is concerned, it was not foreseeable that the condensed anti-crease finishing agents on the fiber would undergo the brief but very intensive action of the alkali during wet setting due to the high temperature and concentration the reactive dyes would withstand without any significant effect reduction.
It is also extremely surprising that both the disperse dye and the reactive dye predominantly dye the fibers themselves and less the synthetic resin coating and that the fixation of the reactive dyes with the hot alkali liquor has the effect of an intensive washing process with its advantages on the wet fastness and against the possible formation of an unpleasant odor with anti-crease finishing.
The method according to the invention for jointly fixing crease-resistant products and dyes on textiles can be applied to all known mixtures of polyester fibers and cellulose fibers.
The cellulosic fibers in these blends can be native fibers such as cotton. or regenerated fibers such as viscose, rayon, modal fibers.
The polyester fibers can be those made from the known linear polyesters which can be dyed with disperse dyes. There are no restrictions with regard to the disperse dyes to be used. All dyes in this category are suitable; H. finely distributed, water-insoluble color pigments, which are drawn from aqueous dispersions in the heat onto hydrophobic fibers and which can be well fixed on the textile through a thermal insulation process.
To dye the cellulose component dyes from all known reactive dye systems can be used who, especially those of the vinyl sulfone type or based on the precursors of such reactive groups, eg. B. demss-Sul- fatoäthylensulfon- remainder, which form a free vinyl sulfone radical when exposed to alkalis.
Likewise suitable according to the process are dyes containing ss- (2,2,3,3-tetra-fluocyclobutyl) acryloylamino groups, as well as dichloroquinoxaline, dichlorotriazine or mono- and di-halo-pyrimidine -Group-containing dyes. A prerequisite for the usefulness of these dyes is that they are under the. Acid-catalyzed dry crosslinking conditions are stable.
Example 1 A mixed fabric of polyester fiber / cotton in the ratio 67: 33 is mixed with a cold padding liquor containing 120 g of dimethylolethyleneurea, 15g of magnesium chloride hexahydrate, 3 g of oleylmethyltaurine, 5 g of a nonionic dispersant based on the reaction product of 1 mole of stearyl alcohol with 25 moles of ethylene oxide,
containing 20% polyethylene glycol with an average molecular weight of 6000, 20 g of the reactive dye of the formula

padded on the padder with a weight increase (liquor uptake) of about 70%, dried for 1 minute at 100 C,
and then the resin is condensed for 5 minutes at 145'C and the disperse dye is thermosolated on the polyester fiber.
The reactive dye is then fixed on the cellulose fiber material by passing the treated goods for 15 seconds at 95 C in a liquor containing 250 g of sodium chloride and 50 ml of 32.5% sodium hydroxide solution (38 Be) per liter of water in the first box of the wide washing machine .
For aftertreatment of the dyeing, a cold aqueous rinsing bath, cold acids with acetic acid, a warm aqueous rinsing bath, a hot aqueous soap bath with 1 g / l of a non-ionic detergent based on the reaction product of 1 mole of nonylphenol with 10 moles follow in the other compartments of the wide washing machine Ethylene oxide and another cold rinsing bath made of water without any other additives.
A fabric dyed evenly blue-tinged red is obtained with good color yield and very good finishing effect with regard to the crease recovery angle in the wet and dry state.
Equally good results are achieved if the resin condensation and the fixation of the disperse dye are carried out at 200'C within one minute.
The fixation of the reactive dye can also be brought about by a dwell process at room temperature for 10 hours after padding with a cold, salty alkali liquor of the above composition and docking of the goods.
Example 2 A mixed fabric of polyester fiber / cotton in a 50:50 mix ratio is mixed with a cold padding liquor containing 100 g of a melamine-formaldehyde precondensate, 10 g of triethanolamine hydrochloride, 3 g of oleylmethyltaurine, 5 g of a non-ionic dispersant as in Example 1, 20 g of the reactive dye of the formula
