Switch with extinguishing of the arc by a flow of release agent generated by the arc itself. Electrical high-performance switches are known in which the arc is extinguished by the pressure medium flow it generates itself. For this purpose you have z.
B. arranged in the quenching chamber two interruption points, of which one interruption point to see the arc and the other interruption point only to generate pressure, serves. The contacts at the point of interruption, where the arc is extinguished, are: too little separated from each other, so that only a small arc burns, while at the other point of interruption the arc can be drawn as long as desired.
In order to be able to pull the arc only for a very short time at the extinguishing point. an intermediate contact in the form of a pin contact t ;: s is provided, which is limited in its movement. This erase contact is moved by spring force, for example, but this can only take effect when the other pin contact, at which the pressure increase it is generated, moves into its off position 1- @ ew ew.
So there is a dependency on the movement between the two pin contacts. This dependence of the movement is important for the deletion process. As is well known, the arc should be extinguished within a very short time of 1-2 half-periods.
If the movement of the pin contact, on which the arc generating the pressure increase is drawn, is faster, so that the arc burns earlier on these contacts than on those of the quenching contacts, the pressure increase generated can reduce the spring force acting on the intermediate contact, exceed and the intermediate contact does not reach its end position, so that the deletion process is difficult if not questioned.
On the other hand, the arc, which mainly generates the pressure increase, can take on a length that brings an unintended size of the pressure increase with it, whereby the arcing chamber is exposed to unnecessarily high pressures and may be destroyed.
About the mode of operation of a Sehalters with the extinguishing of the arc by a pressure extinguishing agent flow generated by himself and with two interruption points in an extinguishing chamber, one of which is mainly used as an extinguishing point, an arc of constant length between two fixed contacts Switching pin is pulled while the other is used to generate pressure, whereby one of the base points of the arc on the switching pin burns and is continuously pulled into fresh extinguishing agent when the pin is moved, regardless of the forces involved,
which can influence the correct switching movement of the intermediate contact, a common switching pin is provided according to the invention for both interruption points, which is formed on part of its length by an insulating piece to form two electrically separate con tacts. Advantageously, the length of the arc is also limited at the second, the moving switching pin assigned to the inflection point after a certain limit has been exceeded, without further movement of the switching pin being prevented.
For this purpose, the movable switch pin runs through a ring, for example, which serves as a second arc base point and at which the elongated arc stops and continues to burn at a constant length, while the movable switch pin moves to its end position. The arc on the movable contact only needs to be drawn out for two half-periods and can then continue to burn with a constant length.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the invention is shown in section. The interruption points 2, 3 and 4, 5 are arranged in an extinguishing chamber 1. The interruption point 2, 3 consists of your upper pin contact 2 and the mating contact designed as a socket contact 3. At this interruption point 2, 3 the light is drawn arc, which is used to generate pressure. The upper pin contact 2 and the lower pin contact 4 are mechanically firmly connected to one another by an insulating piece 11.
The interruption point 4, 5 consists of the con tact formed as a pin contact 4 with its mating contact 5, which is designed as a hollow contact. The Hohlkon tact 5 serves as an outflow opening which is closed in its extension by a valve 6 from. . The valve 6 is set to a certain pressure value and ge equips the outflow of the extinguishing agent located in the chamber from a certain pressure.
The valve 6 controls the extinguishing agent flowing out, which passes through the openings 7 into the container 8 surrounding the extinguishing chamber, in which fresh extinguishing agent can be kept available. The socket contact 0 'is connected to the socket contact 10 by a power line 9, which parts take over the power transmission between the upper pin contact 2 and the lower pin contact 4 when the switch is switched on.
On the socket contact 10, the base point for the quenching arc, which burns between the contact 10 and the hollow contact 5, can also form at the same time. In the upper part of the quenching chamber 1 there is also a ring 13 on which a further Liehtbogenfusspunht can be formed, by which the length of the arc burning between the contacts 2, 3 is limited. The distance of the ring 13 from the fixed mating contact 3 can be set depending on the duration of the current half-period and the speed of the movable switching pin 4.
The end position of the movement of the pin contact 4 is shown in dashed lines. All internal parts of the arcing chamber are held at the correct distances by the rings 14. The power is supplied through the socket contact 12; the current is directed through the hollow contact 5. In the quenching chamber there are still small through-holes 15 which are used to reduce hard pressure increases.
Gas, hard gas, liquid or pressurized extinguishing agent and the like can be used as the extinguishing agent.
The mode of operation of the switch is as follows: When the switch is triggered by the drive, not shown, the pin contact 2 is moved in the direction indicated by the arrow. Since the contact 1: is firmly connected to the pin contact 2 by the insulating piece 11, the same moves in the same way. Since the two pin contacts 2, 4 have to travel the same distance within their mating contacts 3 and 5, the arcs begin to burn evenly at the contacts 2, 3 and 4, 5.
As the pin contact 2, 4 moves on, the tip of the pin contact 4 gets into the area of the socket contact 10 and its burn-off ring and the light arc jumps over to this contact 10 and burns regardless of the further movement of the pin contact 4 with the same length continue. The arc at the pin contact 2 repeatedly comes into contact with fresh extinguishing agent as it moves further and generates a pressure increase in the extinguishing chamber 1.
This increase in pressure in the quenching chamber, which is partly co-generated by the constantly burning small arc, the valve 6 responds and the extinguishing agent in the quenching chamber flows through the hollow contact 5, causing the small arc to occur the interruption point 5, 10 easily and safely clears.
In the case of switches of the above type without the ring 13, the arc may not be extinguished until a certain point in time. The arc at the pressure-generating interruption point 2, 3 then assumes a length that is unnecessary for the pressure generation. The extinguishing process is only favorably influenced by pressure increases of a certain value, while pressure increases beyond this are of no advantage. In order to avoid unnecessary increases in pressure, the ring 13 is provided through which the switch pin runs. When the lower end of the pin contact 2 moves into the area of the ring 13, the light jumps.
arc from the switch pin 2 to the ring 10 The arc now burns with a constant length between the contact 3 and the Ab- 1irandring 13. The small arc burning between the ring 13 and the switch pin 2 is no longer drawn, but the between through the pin contact 2 and the ring 13 burning arcs (let the pin movement burn continuously in fresh extinguishing agent.
The arrangement of the groove 13 limits the total length of the arc to a correct length compared to a device without this Iing, despite the movement of the pen. Nevertheless, the constant supply of fresh extinguishing agent creates a certain but limited pressure increase compared to an arrangement without ring 13 brought about.
This limited increase in pressure is sufficient to generate the extinguishing agent flow that extinguishes the arc, so that the extinguishing agent flow is interrupted in the zero point of the next half-cycle without, however, excessively loading the arcing chamber.
The device described thus acts in a simple manner as overpressure protection for the arcing chamber and allows the arcing chamber and the other parts to be dimensioned weakly, since unnecessarily large increases in pressure need not be expected.
As the pin contacts 2 and 4 move further, the pin contact 2 passes out of the extinguishing chamber 1, so that the extinguishing agent used or the extinguishing agent located at the interruption point 2, 3. Switching gas off: the extinguishing chamber can escape. The pin contacts 2, 4 move into the position shown in dashed lines.
This arrangement ensures that the contact separation at the two interruption points 2, \ 3 'and 4, 5 takes place at the same time, and the formation of the arc at the extinguishing point 4, 5 is made possible in any case and under any circumstance, so that the arc can be safely extinguished. On the described arrangement has the advantage over the known devices before that the special drive of the intermediate contact z. B.
due to spring force or the increase in the height of the truck in the extinguishing chamber is no longer necessary, so that the construction of the switch is considerably simplified.
With some switches it is advantageous to generate the pressure increase before or after the erasing arc is created. By lengthening or shortening the insulating part 11 of the switching pin 2, 4 accordingly, the time of the start of the arc at the pressure generation point and thus the pressure increase can be determined.
