Machine pour ouvrir un paquet de cigarettes. L'objet, de la présente invention est- une machine pour ouvrir un paquet de cigarettes, caractérisée en ce qu'elle comporte. un socle, un chariot porte-paquet, déplaçable sur le so cle et un couteau de forme circulaire, le tout étant agencé de façon telle que le paquet,, orienté dans un sens déterminé et reposant sur le chariot porte-paquet soit ouvert, lors du déplacement du chariot -sur le socle par le fait que ledit couteau découpe au moins une partie du papier de fermeture dudit paquet.
Le dessin annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, deux formes d'exécution de la ma chine -constituant l'objet de l'invention.
La fig. 1 est une vue d'ensemble en pers pective d'une première forme d'exécution. La fig. 2 est une. vue d'ensemble en pers pective de la même forme d'exécution, mais à plus petite échelle, le paquet de cigarettes à ouvrir étant placé sur le chariot.
La fig. 3 est une vue depuis dessous du mécanisme provoquant la rotation du couteau par le déplacement du chariot.
La fig. 4 est une vue d'ensemble en pers pective d'une deuxième forme d'exécution. La fig. 5 est une figure semblable à la fig. 2, mais se rapportant à la deuxième forme d'exécution.
La première forme d'exécution représen tée (fig. 1, 2 et 3) est constituée principale ment d'un socle 1, comportant dans le sens de la longueur une partie de moindre épais seur sur laquelle s e déplace le chariot porte- paquet 2, le socle et le chariot étant rendus solidaires au moyen d'un dispositif de glis sières 3. Le chariot porte-paquet 2 présente une partie 4 perpendiculaire au socle et for mant appui pour le paquet de cigarettes, comme on peut le voir sur la -fi-. 2; il pré sente également une rainure 5, de largeur lé-, gèrement supérieure à l'épaisseur maximum que peut avoir un paquet de cigarettes selon sa provenance.
Le couteau 6, de forme -circu laire, destiné à couper une partie du papier de fermeture du paquet de cigarettes a son axe de rotation vertical; cet axe est monté dans la partie la. plus épaisse du socle de fa çon qu'une partie du couteau passant par une lumière apparaisse au-dessus de la glissière sur laquelle se déplace le chariot; le couteau passe aussi légèrement au-dessus du fond de la. rainure 5, par une fente 7 et coupe le pa pier de fermeture -du paquet, mais n'atteint pas les extrémités des cigarettes contenues dans le paquet.
Le socle comporte, logé sous sa surépais- seur, un mécanisme (fig. 3) provoquant la rotation du couteau lors du déplacement du chariot. Ce mécanisme est essentiellement constitué d'une crémaillère 8, fixée le long , du chariot et engrenant, en passant par une fente 13, avec un pignon denté 9 monté sur l'axe du couteau. Ce pignon 9 engrène lui- même avec un deuxième pignon denté 10 de plus grand diamètre,
comportant sur sa face inférieure un ressort 11 dont une extrémité est fixée au châssis et l'autre au pignon 10, ledit ressort étant enroulé dans un sens con venable.
Le fonctionnement de la machine est le suivant: On place le paquet de cigarettes à ouvrir, le papier de fermeture contre le fond de la rainure 5; le paquet étant appuyé con tre l'appui 4 du -chariot, la main tenant en même temps le paquet et l'appui, on déplace le chariot en avant, la crémaillère fait alors tourner le couteau qui coupe au passage le papier de fermeture; en même temps, le pi gnon 10 est entraîné et enroule le ressort 11. Lorsque le chariot est à bout de course, on retire le paquet et le ressort ramène le cha riot dans sa. position primitive.
Dans la deuxième forme d'exécution re présentée aux fig. 4 et 5, le plan du couteau est vertical, son axe de rotation est horizontal. Le paquet de cigarettes est alors .couché sur le chariot qui affecte une forme ,de cornière.
La course du chariot est limitée, par les dimensions d'une encoche 12 prévue pour que le couteau ne coupe qu'une partie du papier de ferme ture du parquet. Cette forme d'exécution com prend également la crémaillère montée d'une façon ,différente, mais ne comprend pas de ressort de rappel, elle pourrait être conçue avec un ressort de rappel.

Fig. 1 is an overall perspective view of a first embodiment. Fig. 2 is a. overall perspective view of the same embodiment, but on a smaller scale, the pack of cigarettes to be opened being placed on the cart.
Fig. 3 is a view from below of the mechanism causing the rotation of the knife by the movement of the carriage.
Fig. 4 is an overall perspective view of a second embodiment. Fig. 5 is a figure similar to FIG. 2, but relating to the second embodiment.
The first embodiment shown (fig. 1, 2 and 3) consists mainly of a base 1, comprising in the length direction a part of less thickness on which moves the package carrier 2. , the base and the trolley being made integral by means of a sliding device 3. The packet trolley 2 has a part 4 perpendicular to the base and forming a support for the packet of cigarettes, as can be seen on the figure. -fi-. 2; it also has a groove 5, of width slightly greater than the maximum thickness that a packet of cigarettes can have depending on its origin.
The knife 6, of circular shape, intended to cut part of the closing paper of the cigarette packet has its vertical axis of rotation; this axis is mounted in part la. thicker of the base so that part of the knife passing through a light appears above the slide on which the carriage moves; the knife also passes slightly above the bottom of the. groove 5, by a slot 7 and cuts the closure pa pier -du packet, but does not reach the ends of the cigarettes contained in the packet.
The base comprises, housed under its extra thickness, a mechanism (fig. 3) causing the rotation of the knife when moving the carriage. This mechanism consists essentially of a rack 8, fixed along the carriage and meshing, passing through a slot 13, with a toothed pinion 9 mounted on the axis of the knife. This pinion 9 itself meshes with a second toothed pinion 10 of larger diameter,
comprising on its lower face a spring 11, one end of which is fixed to the frame and the other to the pinion 10, said spring being wound in a suitable direction.
The operation of the machine is as follows: The pack of cigarettes to be opened is placed, the sealing paper against the bottom of the groove 5; the package being pressed against the support 4 of the carriage, the hand holding the package and the support at the same time, the carriage is moved forward, the rack then turns the knife which cuts the closing paper in the process; at the same time, the pin gnon 10 is driven and winds the spring 11. When the carriage is at the end of its travel, the package is removed and the spring returns the carriage in its. primitive position.
In the second embodiment shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the plane of the knife is vertical, its axis of rotation is horizontal. The pack of cigarettes is then lying on the carriage which affects a shape, of angle.
The stroke of the carriage is limited by the dimensions of a notch 12 provided so that the knife cuts only part of the parquet ture paper. This embodiment also takes the rack mounted in a different way, but does not include a return spring, it could be designed with a return spring.
