Device for printing. The object of the invention is a device serving for printing, characterized by: a frame which carries a screen which may be made of silk or other similar material, ec -frame being provided with a hooking member arranged to engage with a squeegee carriage 'and keep it stationary when lifting the frame carrying the screen.
In a particular embodiment, the hooking member is mounted to pivot at the upper end of a small support fixed to 1, D front edge of the screen frame and carries, fixed on it, a rod controlled by a spring, directed downwards and passing. through the screen frame, the arrangement being such that, when the screen frame is lowered onto the table on which it rests, to make an impression, the lower end of the rod comes into contact with the, table and moves upwards, against the action of the spring, to release the hooking member -from the racket carriage, slums that,
when the frame of the screen is lifted once the printing is finished, the spring comes into play, pulls the hooking member downwards, and engages it with the #squeegee carriage, which 'it thus maintains firmly in its previous position, while the the frame (the screen.
In another special form of execution, two squeegees are mounted for pivoting at their ends in the squeegee carriage and are arranged to be controlled by the movement of two arms. fixed to the lower ends of two rods mounted in the squeegee carrier, said rods being provided with control handles, directed forward and arranged to be brought close to each other, in order to operate the one of the raclettes,
and to be 6 separated from each other, in order to operate the other squeegee, stops, being provided on 1-6 -squeegee carrier. to limit in both directions, the movement of, say handlea ##.
The accompanying drawing represents, by by way of example, an embodiment of the device forming the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of this embodiment taking a silk screen, holding in the hand and serving to print, a part being removed to show the construction more clearly, -and figs. 2 -and 3 are detailed views showing the two positions of a fastening member serving to maintain a scraper frame.
- The device shown -includes a- table 10, which can naturally have a shape and of any dimensions -and on which is mounted with hinge in 11 a -ca dre 12 carrying a screen 13 of silk or a similar material. Normally, the anterior end of the screen frame is held on the table 10 by means of a hinge clamp 14 and counterweights are provided to facilitate the lifting of the frame, when it is desired to remove a printed object.
Guides 16 are placed on each side of the frame; they are carried; to a suitable height above the. -caidre 12 by supports 17. These guides 16 have the shape of xondes rods -and are split at their ends, to grip the edges of the , supports 17. At their front ends, the guides are attached to. support by -slotted ankles 18, the posterior ends being fixed by ordinary ankles 19. In this way, the split ankles can be removed 18 </ B > and swing the guides 16 around the pegs 19, in the -but which will be explained in what follows.
On the guides 16 is disposed a scraper carriage 20, which is provided with upper and lower sets of support rollers 21, to facilitate its movement back and forth along the guides. , 16. The squeegee carriage is provided with 22 end brackets which are directed downwards and to the lower end of which is fixed < B> to , swiveling a squeegee support 23. This squeegee support includes an angular metal piece of the desired length to each of the wings of which is fixed, in a suitable manner, one of the scrapers, properly so called,
which are formed of rubber bands, one of which is shown at 24.
To ensure that the device operates as desired, it is necessary that the squeegee support 23 swings -on the pivots in such a way that, whatever the direction of movement of the -carriage- squeegees on the guides. 16, the squeegee which is behind, is kept in contact with the screen 13, while the one which is in front is raised a little above the screen.
A -this effect, the squeegee carriage 20 carries plates 30 distant, one from the other and in which are mounted: vertical rods 31. At their lower ends, the rods have split arms, one of which can be seen at 32. The split arms are directed in opposite directions one to the other and engage with -pins, -, one of which is visible at 33, arranged vertically on the support 23 of the squeegees. By rotating the rods 31, you can swing the squeegee support 23 around its feet to ensure the desired operation.
The means for rotating the rods include long handles 34 directed forward and. with the ends 35 turned upwards. Vertical stops 37 are arranged on the plates 30 to limit in both directions, the movement of the handles 34, the stops preferably being in turns of rubber -and being placed in such a way that when the handles are in contact with them, the squeegees are pressed with the desired pressure against the screen.
During operation, the raised ends 35 of the handles 34 are grasped with full hands 35 and brought closer together until the stops are touched. . The squeegee carrier is pushed aJors towards the rear of the frame 12. For the return movement, they are separated. ends, raised, 35 of the handles, until you touch the stops and you pull the -carrier, -raielettea forward, towards the front of the frame.
With such a construction, no resort is necessary, since the movement of the squeegees is automatic and the necessary pressure is ensured -when the handles are held against the stops.
The reason for tilting the guides will now be obvious. By - removing the dowels the slits 18, it is possible to tilt the mistletoe upwards and completely remove the squeegee carriage for cleaning, The eadre which carries the silk screen or -ana logue is provided with a hooking member adapted to engage with the scraper carriage, and to maintain it.
place when lifting the frame of the screen to lift one or more printed objects, The hooking member 40 is mounted to pi-vote at the upper end of a small support 41 , fixed -on the front edge of the frame 12 of the screen and carries, fixed to it, a rod 42, directed towards the bae and passing through the frame of the screen 12.
A spring 40 is disposed around the lower end of the rod 42, the arrangement being such that when the frame of the screen is lowered onto the table 10 to make an impression (fig. 2), the lower end of the rod 42 touches the table and rises, against the action of the spring 43, to release the hook from the scraper carriage 20.
On the other hand, when you lift the #dre from the screen after printing is complete (fig. 3), the spring 43 comes into play; it pulls the hook 40 downwards and engages it with the squeegee carrier which it thus maintains firmly anchored in its, previous position, while the screen frame is being lifted. This will prevent the squeegee carriage from rolling back down along the guides by its own weight.
