Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines gerbend wirkenden Kondensationsproduktes. Gegenstand vorliegenden Patentes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines gerbend wir kenden Kondensationsproduktes. Das Verfah ren ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man ein Sulfierungsgemisch, erhalten durch Sulfo- nieren von Rohkresol mit Schwefelsäuremono- hydrat bei einer Temperatur von über 90 , im Vakuum auf 145 bis 190 erhitzt und an schliessend das erhaltene Polysulfon in sau rem Medium mit Harnstoff und Formaldehyd kondensiert.
Der erhaltene neue Gerbstoff liefert weiche, sehr weisse und lichtechte Leder.
Beispiel: 500 Teile Rohkresol, das 401/o ni-Kresol enthält, werden mit. 550 Teilen Monohydrat. eine Stunde bei 100 bis 105 sulfoniert und langsam im Vakuum auf 155 erhitzt.
Es wird so lange bei dieser Temperatur (etwa 8 Stun den lang) in einem Vakuum von 11 nim H- -gerührt, bis ein Gramm des Kondensations produktes 5,0 cm3 7.-n NaOH gegen Kongorot neutralisiert. (Anfangstiter für ein Gramm Rohkresolsulfoiisäure:
6,4 em3 1-n NaOH.) 100 Teile des erhaltenen Polysulfons wer den mit.<B>1 2</B> Teilen Wasser und 35 Teilen Na- tronlauge 30% vorsichtig geschmolzen, durch Zugabe von konz. Ammoniak oder Natron lauge auf ein pH von 2,5 bis 3,
5 eingestellt und nach Zusetzen einer Lösung von 9 Teilen Harnstoff in 30 Teilen Formaldehyd 30% bei 50 bis 60 kondensiert, bis das Reaktionspro- dukt, in Wasser gelöst, sich beim Stehen nicht mehr trübt, was nach etwa 6 Stunden der Fall ist. Die Lösung wird dann mit Natron lauge gegen Kongorot neutralisiert und mit 6 Teilen Essigsäure 80% angesäuert.
Die angewandte Harnstoff-Formaldehyd- menge kann weitgehend variiert werden, und zwar von 3 Teilen Harnstoff und 10 Teilen Formaldehyd 30% bis zu 12 Teilen Harnstoff. und 40 Teilen Formaldehyd 30%. Die gün- stigsten Mengenverhältnisse liegen zwischen 6 Teilen Harnstoff und 20 Teilen
Formalde hyd 301/o bzw. zwischen 9 Teilen Harnstoff und 30 Teilen Formaldehyd 30%.
Das auf diese Weise erhaltene Konden sationsprodukt zeichnet. sieh durch seinen hohen Gerbstoffgehalt aus; es enthält prak tisch keine anorganischen Nichtgerbstoffe. Mit relativ kleinen Gerbstoffmengen, z. B. 10% des Trockengerbstoffes auf Blössen- gewieht, erhält man schon ein gutes weiches, sehr weisses Leder von hervorragender Licht echtheit.
