Description

Equipment for tightening photographic works. The object of the present invention is equipment for clamping photographic works.

The appended drawing represents, by way of examples, two embodiments thereof.

Figs. 1 and 2 are respective plan views of a part and of the whole of the material object of the invention under its. first embodiment. Fig. 3 is a detail section on 111-111 of FIG. 2.

The fi-. 4 and 5 are views similar to FIGS. 1. and 2, but representing the second embodiment, on a smaller scale.

The material shown in fig. 1 and 2 include double envelopes, an example of which is shown in FIG. 1. Such a double envelope is made from a single sheet of heavy paper or other opaque or transparent sheet material. Each of the side edges of this sheet designated by 2 has a tab. 3 bonding extending along part of its length between points 4 and. 4 'unequally. distant from the horizontal edges 8, and 9 of the cut sheet but not yet shaped as in fig. 1.

The part 2 'of the sheet 2 which, in this first state, extends from the height of the point 4 to the lower edge 8, is. then ra beat on that which presents the tabs which are themselves previously folded inward. This drawdown is done. in my opinion he. determines a fold 7 perpendicular to the side edges and brings edge 8 up to the point. 4 '. Part 2 'is glued to tabs 3 as well as, in its; middle, to the part that presents these tabs. This last collage is made in two strips of one. a few millimeters wide, denoted by 11 and <B> Il '</B> and which extend on either side and along a line 10 of perforations serving to facilitate tearing of the, leaf.

These perforations may be only partial, that is to say result from a wise stamping limited to a deformation of the paper along a broken line.

Line 10 and bands 11 and 11 'di aim at la. half the pocket formed by the folding of part 2 ', pocket of which they delimit two compartments 5 and 5' which come from separate pockets when the sheet is torn. A notch 20 made in the. sheet 2 from the edge 9 marks by its bottom the location of a fold 12 delimited as a flap 13 for folding each of the pockets. This fold divides into two parts a strip 6 of the part of the sheet 2 which extends from the edge 8 of the pockets to the outer edge 9. The strip between the edge 8 and the fold 12 bears an arrow showing line 10 as well. than an inscription concerning the tearing of the sheet.

The tab 13 carries other instructions inside, and, on its outside visible in FIG. 2, inscriptions facilitating the classification of the photographic works contained in the pocket 5, which is made mainly for the conservation of a transparent film or negative, while the pocket 5 'will contain the corresponding positive proof, or vice versa.

In view of the classification. Of the negatives or photographic prints in envelopes 5 and their protection, the material further comprises a binder of the type which has the exterior appearance of a bound book or wide spine portfolio. This classifier, designated by 14, has rigid leaves 16 and 16 'which are articulated with its back 15 by determining folds 15a. hinges.

The two leaves carry, against their internal faces, strips of gummed paper 17 glued parallel to the horizontal edges over a part of their width and interlocking so that from the lower edge of each leaf a series of these bands forms a row which extends to the need to a distance such from the upper edge that the area of the pockets 5 for which is, made the binder is, contained therein when it is glued, by its fold and a band marginal adjacent to this fold, under the free part of the most advanced strip 17.

It is understood that a second pocket mounted in the same way under the strip 17 preceding that one may. fall back on the first pocket by covering it. partially by leaving uncovered the inscriptions made on the outside of the tab 13 folded over the edge 8. As a result, each van tail can support a series of pockets whose .disposition in nesting and the mobility around axes 19 corresponding to folds separating the parts of the strips glued to the leaves of their parts 18 glued to the pockets allow. search for a negative according to its designation and its extraction from its pouch.

In the. embodiment shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the leaves of the file cabinet 14 sup carry the strips 17ca in parallel. on the back 15 which is longer than the width of a leaf, so that this binder is adapted to contain negatives of a long format relative to its width, as is the case with sections of films comprising several views. These long pouches are also one of the parts of a double pouch made from a single folded sheet 2a and. shown in fig. 4.

This sheet is cut so that, before folding, it has a gluing tab 3a to be folded back inside and protruding on a middle part of one of the edges and. that, in relation to this part, its dimension. perpendicular to this edge is double what it is on both sides of this part, in 13z and 13b. This sheet is. folded through the middle of this double dimension so that its edge initially opposite said tab covers the latter and is glued to this tab.

The sleeve thus formed is divided into two unequal parts by a line of perforations 10a perpendicular to the fold 7a. and is, transformed into two pockets 5a and 5b by a gluing made along both sides of this line as in fig. 1. and uniting the two walls of this oven reau.

This line 10a is parallel to the edges Sa and 8b of the openings of the two pockets, one of which, Sa, coïnei.de with the folding fold 12a of the tab 13c and the other, 8b, is a little distant from the fold 12b of the tab 13b. These are the pockets such as 5a which, separated from the pockets 5b, must contain sections of film and be clamped in the file, by gluing their funds to the bands 1.7a, while the pockets 5b must.

keep contact prints and enlargements of the pictures included in these films.

The material described, allows. to a photography laboratory working for amateurs to provide them with binders and deliver the negatives and positives to them in double envelopes which will be separated after corresponding inscriptions have been made on the two pockets of these envelopes . The pockets containing: the negatives will then be mounted in the binder in a determined order, chronological for example.

A similar binder could contain pouches such as 5 'and 5b container. positive works if they are not placed in an ordinary album or distributed, their designations being able to be carried over in this. album.

The binders may contain rigid interior sheets also carrying series of strips 17, 17cc against their faces.

The 11 and 11 'bondings could be replaced by seams or by staples.

The strips 17 forming hinges could be replaced by rigid strips articulated by means of metal members. Sleeves and their binders obviously can. be manufactured in all usual or special formats without differing from the type described.
