Man filtriert gegebenenfalls unge löste Verunreinigungen ab.
Process for the preparation of a metal-containing monoazo dye. 17s it was found that one arrives at a new valuable, Ehrom-containing monoazo dye, if one gets to a mono azo dye of the formula
EMI0001.0009
where X denotes an alkyl group or a hydrogen atom, allows chromium-releasing agents to act in such a way that the chromium complex of the corresponding o, o'-dioxymono azo dye is formed,
which contains one atom of complex chromium per molecule of dye.
The new, chromium-containing monoazo dye is a dark-colored substance when dried, which dissolves in a dilute sodium carbonate solution with red-violet and in concentrated sulfuric acid with a throic blue-violet color and dyes wool from sulfuric bath in real, reddish blue tones.
The at. present process as starting materials serving, the above formula corresponding monoazo dyes can be prepared by diazotized 4-chloro-2-amino-l-oxybenzene or diazotized 4-chloro-2-amino-l-alkoxybenzenes with 8-chloro 1- oxynaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid combined.
The alkoxy group which may be present in the 2-position of the diaeocomponent preferably contains only a few, for example 1 to 4, carbon atoms.
The Diazotieriuig of 4-chloro-2-amino-l-oxybenzene or 4-chloro-2-amino-l-alkoxy-benzenes can be carried out in a conventional manner known per se, for. B. with the help of sodium nitrite and hydrochloric acid.
The coupling of the diazo compounds thus obtained with the 8-chloro-1-oxynaphthalene-3,6-disilfonic acid takes place, conveniently in an alkaline medium. If necessary, the coupling can also be carried out in the presence of suitable solvents, such as alcohol or pyridine.
The treatment with the chromium donating agents is carried out, for. B. by per se known methods that lead to chromium compounds which contain one atom of chromium per molecule of dye. This treatment can raan z. B. with salts of trivalent chromium, such as chromium fluoride, chromium sulfate or chromium formate, in aqueous, preferably mineral acidic agents at elevated tempera ture, in an open vessel and at boiling tempera ture of the reaction mixture, or at an even higher temperature, for. B. at temperatures between 110 and 150, and take before pressure.
Example: 49 parts of the monoazo dye obtained by coupling diazotized 4-chloro-2-amino-l-oxybenzene with 8-chloro-1-oxynaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid are stirred with 1000 parts of hot water and 10 mol sulfuric acid are added until the reaction is weakly mineral acid. After adding a 6,
2 parts of chromium-containing amount of chromium sulfate [Cr2 (S04) 3], the reaction mixture is refluxed for 20 to 30 hours. If necessary, unsolved impurities are filtered off. 300 parts of sodium chloride are added to the filtrate at boiling temperature. The mixture is slowly cooled to room temperature while stirring. The deposited dye is filtered off and washed with saturated sodium chloride solution.
