Description
<B>Zusatzpatent</B> zum Hauptpatent Nr. 236588. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Küpenfarbstoffes. Gegenstand des Hauptpatentes ist ein Ver fahren zur Herstellung eines Küpenfarbstof- fes der Dibenzanthronreihe, wobei 1 Mol Di- benzanthron in einem grossen Überschuss von geselimo1zenem wasserfreiem Aluminiumchlo rid mit etwa 2 Mol Thionylchlorrid umgesetzt wird.
In einem Zusatzpatent wurde gezeigt, dass man auch durch Umsetzen von 1 Mol Dibenz- anthron in einem grossen Übersehuss von ge- sehmolzenem wasserfreiem Aluminiumchlorid mit. etwa 2 Mol Schwefelchlorür einen wert vollen Küpenfarbstoff erhält.
Es wurde nun gefunden, dass man eben falls einen wertvollen Küpenfarbstoff der Di- benzanthronreihe erhält, wenn man 1. Mol Monobromisodibenzanthron in einem grossen Überschuss von geschmolzenem Aluminium chlorid zunächst mit etwa 1. Mol Schwefel ehlorür und dann mit etwa 1 Mol Thionyl- ehlorid in Gegenwart eines Alkalisulfits um setzt.
Die Menge des Aluminiumchlorids ist dabei zweckmässig etwa sechs- bis achtmal so gross wie die des Monobromisodibenzanthrons.
Der neue Farbstoff färbt Baumwolle aus der Küpe in gut egalisierten, marineblauen Tönen von ausgezeichneter Wassertropfecht- heit.
Die im folgenden Beispiel genannten Teile sind Gewichtsteile. Beispiel: In eine 65-76 heisse Schmelze von 200 Teilen wasserfreiem Aluminiumchlorid, 30 Teilen Natriumsulfit und 8 Teilen Schwefel- chlorür werden unter Rühren 25 Teile Mono- bromisodibenzanthron (erhältlich durch Bro- mieren von Isodibenzanthron in Chlorsulfon- säure) eingetragen;
dann rührt man die Schmelze bei der gleichen Temperatur noch etwa 2 Stunden lang weiter, lässt langsam 7,2 Teile Thionylchlorid zufliessen und rührt noch eine Stunde lang weiter. Nach dem üblichen Aufarbeiten erhält man einen Farbstoff, der Baumwolle in gut egalisierten, marineblauen Tönen von ausgezeichneter Wassertropfecht- heit färbt.
<B> Additional patent </B> to main patent no. 236588. Process for the production of a vat dye. The main patent relates to a process for the production of a vat dye of the dibenzanthrone series, 1 mol of dibenzanthrone being reacted in a large excess of gelatinized anhydrous aluminum chloride with about 2 mol of thionyl chloride.
In an additional patent, it was shown that by reacting 1 mole of dibenzanthrone in a large excess of molten anhydrous aluminum chloride. about 2 moles of sulfur chloride contains a valuable vat dye.
It has now been found that a valuable vat dye of the dibenzanthrone series is also obtained if 1. mol of monobromoisodibenzanthrone in a large excess of molten aluminum chloride is initially mixed with about 1. mol of sulfur and then with about 1 mol of thionyl chloride Presence of an alkali sulfite sets.
The amount of aluminum chloride is expediently about six to eight times as large as that of monobromoisodibenzanthrone.
The new dye dyes cotton from the vat in well-balanced, navy blue shades with excellent water resistance.
The parts mentioned in the following example are parts by weight. Example: 25 parts of monobromoisodibenzanthrone (obtainable by brominating isodibenzanthrone in chlorosulfonic acid) are introduced into a 65-76 hot melt of 200 parts of anhydrous aluminum chloride, 30 parts of sodium sulphite and 8 parts of sulfuric chloride;
then the melt is stirred for a further 2 hours at the same temperature, 7.2 parts of thionyl chloride are allowed to flow in slowly and stirring is continued for a further hour. After the usual work-up, a dye is obtained which dyes cotton in well-leveled, navy blue shades with excellent water resistance.
