Dans l'exemple représenté, chacune des génératrices Gl, G.2 et Gs est reliée à deux moteurs -de traction 1111 et 04, D'13 et<I>I1</I> 1<I>4,- et</I> vls et 111s, qui peuvent être du type série;
Installation for the transmission of electrical energy. The present invention relates to an installation for the transmission of electrical energy, comprising at least one. electric motor connected to a generator coupled to a gas turbine and comprising a regulator of the supplied power.
automatically the speed of the turbine at determined values increasing with the value of the power supplied. This installation is characterized by a control device suitable for the speed of the turbine and intended to produce a reference quantity representing the maximum fuel flow rate capable of being supplied to the turbine for the different types.
your speeds thereof, this device being associated with; means similar to the difference between this magnitude and the real value of the flow rate of the fuel supplied to the turbine to prevent any increase in the fuel flow rate above this maximum , corresponding to the speed of the turbine at the moment considered.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Figs. 1 and 1A together form a diagram of the electrical circuit of the power transmission installation.
Fig. 2. Is a graph showing the operating characteristics of the installation.
Referring to fig. 1 and 1-1, the gas turbine shown at T is coupled. by S reduction gears with three generators. G1, G. and G3 and to an E.
The turbine can drive an auxiliary generator AG to power the control circuits and other auxiliary installations on the locomotive.
In the example shown, each of the generators Gl, G.2 and Gs is connected to two traction motors 1111 and 04, D'13 and <I> I1 </I> 1 <I> 4, - and </ I> vls and 111s, which can be of the series type;
the motor inductor windings include reversing switches of the usual type (not shown). Each generator is provided with an inductor winding, respectively GFl, GF2, GF3 connected to the armature of the exciter E.
The exciter is provided with a main inductor winding EFt intended to be excited by constant voltage auxiliary supply conductors 2 and 3 in series with a rheostat Ri forming part of a main controller 111C. The exciter is also provided with an internal winding <RTI
ID = "0001.0092"> of actor EF2 which, as will emerge below, is automatically controlled by the control device in order to modify the effect of the main field winding EF2. The exciter also includes
an inductor winding EF3 which is mounted in series with the generator Gt and acts in opposition to the main inductor winding EFt of the exciter.
This inductor winding EF3 acting in opposition with respect to the winding EFt communicates to the generators -a voltage / current characteristic such that the current supplied to the motors falls with an increase in speed of these for a given cqurant in the winding.
main inductor EF1 of the exciter.
The fuel supply to the turbine T is regulated by a fuel valve FV, the position of which is regulated by means of an FSX electric servomotor. The fuel valve is advantageously a needle valve actuated by the FSDI engine at the by means of a rack.
The servomotor operation is regulated by means of a vibration regulator FR, whereby the current in the field winding EF2 of the exciter is controlled by means of a pair of vibration regulators OR and <I> TER. </I> The <I> FR, OR </I> and <I> TER </I> regulators will hereinafter be referred to as fuel regulator, flow regulator and tractive force regulator.
These regulators may be of any suitable type, but preferably conform to the construction according to patent No. 301188.
The armature of the servomotor FS111, in the example shown, is connected in series with a load resistor 1 between the auxiliary supply conductors 2 and 3.
The motor is provided with an inductor winding, of which the two parts 4 and 5 mounted in parallel are connected, on the one hand, to the conductor 2 and, on the other hand, to fixed contacts 6 and 7 of the FR fuel regulator.
A vibrator contact 8 of this regulator cooperating with the fixed contacts is connected to the conductor 3. The fuel regulator is provided with control coils OCFR1, OCFR2 and OCFR3 mounted as will be described below.
The various lips are coiled together to form the voice coil of the regulator. The regulator is so arranged that when the resulting ampere-turns produced by these control coils are zero,
the movable contact 8 will vibrate in the interval between the contacts 6 and 7 without touching these contacts, so that the servomotor torque is zero. When the resulting ampere-turns produced by the control coils of the regulator are directed in a given direction,
the movable contact 8 will engage with the contact 6 in order to cause the servomotor FSIYI <I> to </I> produce a torque which increases the flow of fuel supplied by the valve FV to the turbine T, while when these ampere-turns are in the opposite direction,
the contact 8 will come into engagement with the contact 7 to cause the booster to reduce the rate of distribution of fuel to the turbine. The torque produced by the servomotor, and hence the acceleration of the servomotor and the rate of increase of fuel delivery to the turbine, will depend on the length of time that the contact 8 is engaged with the contact. 6 or contact 7, as the case may be,
duration measured with respect to the total period of vibration of contact 8 and this will depend on the resulting number of ampere-turns produced by the control coils of the regulator. When the control ampere-turns are sufficient to maintain contact 8 continuously in engagement with contact 6 or contact 7,
the servo motor torque will be maximum.
For a complete description of the arrangement and operation of the OR flow regulator and the <I> TER tractive force regulator, </I> attention is drawn to patent No. 304589. Since the installation described is generally applicable to devices for transmitting electrical power of the aforementioned type driven by a gas turbine and which other parts of the control device do not
not by themselves part of the present invention, it will suffice to indicate that when the power to be effectively supplied by the turbine for the operating conditions of the traction motors defined by curve B (fig. 2) is less than that which the turbine can provide for the conditions determined in advance of maximum power defined by this curve,
the speed of the turbine is set to the desired value by means of the fuel regulator, while, when the power corresponds to that determined by the main controller for curve B, the speed of the turbine is set to the value desired by the generator flow control,
and the transition from one control mode to the other is effected by means which are responsive to the flow rate of the turbine as measured by the rate of distribution of fuel to the latter, that is to say i.e. by the voltage at potentiometer 60.
In addition, the tractive force regulator acts at lower speeds concurrently with the fuel regulator to limit armature current and tractive effort, but at the transition between the two control modes the traction force regulator relinquishes control of generator flow. miss to the flow regulator.
It will be appreciated that the operation according to the characteristics of FIG. 2 sôias the action of a drop in speed of the traction motors, due for example to an increase in slope, as has already been described for an increasing speed.
For other positions of the main controller, corresponding characteristics will be obtained. For example for the position of the controller corresponding to the characteristic El ', the operation will be given by the characteristic B',
the hyperbo lic or constant power value of the characteristic increasing due to the adjustment made by the potentiometer P and the horizontal value or with constant component of the characteristic increasing thanks to the adjustment of the rheostat R2 determining a reduction in the current in the winding of PTER field of the tension force regulator, so that the armature current increases before the tension force regulator is in state, to reduce the excitation of the generator.
For an operation corresponding to a position of the main controller such that the characteristic B 'is obtained, the excitation of the generator does not reach the maximum value before a higher speed such as that represented by the point X'. Thereafter, the acceleration of the motors continues at constant voltage with decreasing power from the gas turbine, as in the case of curve B. If, at any time, the main controller is moved to increase the flow power, the speed of the gas turbine increases, as already described.
We will now describe the arrangement of the control coils of the flow regulator and of the fuel regulator FR. These fuel regulator and flow regulator control coils are mounted in three control circuits, which for convenience will be referred to below respectively:
adjustment circuit, control circuit and restriction circuit. The selective control circuit can also, if necessary, include means for limiting the operating temperature of the turbine, as will be described below.
The control circuit is sensitive to a deviation of the speed of the turbine from the desired speed - and., To measure the speed of the turbine, a tachometer alternator is used having an output winding 30 which is connected by a dry plate rectifier 32 with a load resistor 33 consisting of a potentiometer set in advance,
the tap 34 from which is taken wne voltage which is proportional to the speed of the turbine. The adjustment circuit comprises a further potentiometer 35 mounted in series with a fixed resistor 36 between the supply conductors 2 and 3.
The moving contact is coupled with the FV fuel valve, and moves up the pattern with an increase in the fuel delivery rate. A resistor 38 and a capacitor 39 are mounted between the contact 37 and the switch 3, so that the voltage across the capacitor 39 will represent the average value of the voltage at the switch 37.
The OCFRi coil of the fuel regulator is connected in series with a resistor 40 to receive the difference between the voltages of the potentiometers 33 and 34, and the OCOR1 control coil of the flow regulator is mounted - analogously in series with a resistance 41 between these potential meters.
The OCFR1 coil is mounted in a direction such that the current going from potentiometer 34 to potentiometer 35 will cause the reduction in the fuel distribution, while the current passing through the OCOR1 coil in the same direction will cause an increase in the excitation of the exciter E,. and, consequently, of the flow of the generators.
A <I> TG </I> tachometer generator is coupled to the FS111 servo motor and is connected in series with a resistor 42 across the OCFRi coil. This tachometer generator, producing a voltage depending on the speed of the servomotor,
is arranged to supply a current component to the OCFR1 coil in the iii direction which opposes the speed of the servomotor in order to ensure the damping which stabilizes the device against the inertia of the servomotor and the moving parts with him.
The selective control circuit comprises a potentiometer 60 mounted between conductors 2 and 3 and having its movable contact 61 coupled with the fuel valve FV, so that its position indicates the value of the flow rate of fuel supplied to the turbine, and a potentiometer P which is also mounted between conductors 2 and 3 and whose movable contact 62 is connected to the handle of the main controller.
The OCFR2 coil of the fuel regulator is mounted in series with a resistor 63 and a rectifier 64 between the moving contacts 61 and 62, and the OCOR2 control unit of the flow regulator is mounted in a similar fashion between these contacts in series with a resistor 65 and a rectifier 66.
The OCFR2 coil is mounted in a direction such as a current going from the potentiometer 61 to the potentiometer 62, that is to say in the direction. permitted by rectifier 64, will act on the FR regulator to reduce the fuel delivery rate,
while the coil OCOR2 is mounted in such a way that a current flow from contact 62 to contact 61 in the direction permitted by rectifier 66, will act on the flow regulator OR so as to cause the latter to increase the flow , from the generator. A resistor 67 and a capacitor 68 are mounted between one end of the OCFR2 coil and the conductor 3.
The connection between the contact 62 of the potentiometer and the OCFR2 and OCOR2 coils comprises the normally closed contacts 69 of a maximum circuit breaker provided with OCs9 control coils forming part of the main armature circuits. A resistor 70 is mounted between these control coils and the conductor 3.
When it is desired to provide automatic limitation of the temperature of the turbine, an OCFR4 control coil is provided on the fuel regulator and. is mounted in the circuit sensitive to the operating temperature of the turbine, as described in detail in patent 1V 304589.
The restriction circuit is intended to limit the rate of flow of fuel supplied to the turbine and also to reduce the load on the turbine, when such load reduction is required in order to allow an increase in the speed of the turbine. during operation.
To this end, the restriction cir cuit comprises means producing a voltage proportional to the speed of the turbine; for example an additional output winding 80 of the alternator is connected in series by the dry plate rectifier 81 to a fixed resistance 82 and to a nonlinear resistor 83 having a negative voltage resistance characteristic. The OCFR3 control coils and
OCOR3 fuel and flow regulators respectively are connected in series with each other and with a dry plate rectifier 84 in order to receive the difference between the voltage at the terminals of the resistor 83 and that taken from the potentiometer 60,
rectifier 84 only allowing current to flow through these coils when the voltage across resistor 83 is less than that taken from the potentiometer.
These coils are mounted in their respective regulators in such directions as to tend to reduce the rate of fuel delivery and to reduce the output of the generators respectively. In the operation of the device described above, the power supplied by the turbine is regulated by the main controller.
The movement of the handle of the main controller defines by means of the rheostat R1 the current supplied to the EPI winding, so that the voltage of the generators G1, G2 and G3 gradually increases as the controller is brought from its position. , initial position to its extreme position.
The excitation of the generators is reduced at the moment of an increase in the current supplied to the traction motors, under the effect of the inductor winding EP3, so that for a given position of the controller handle ,
an inliércnte characteristic of the device is obtained. such as that represented by curve A in FIG. 2, and for another position of the controller, an inherent characteristic such as that represented by curve A 'is obtained.
Curve B forms the characteristic obtained, as will be described in detail below, by the automatic control device when the controller is in the position giving the inherent characteristic A; analogously, the curve B 'forms the characteristic obtained automatically for the position of the controller corresponding to the inherent characteristic A'.
It will be appreciated that the device will provide a group of curves similar to curves A, A ', B and B', the number of curves A, B being equal to the number of notches provided on the controller. The rheostats RI and R2 and the Potentio meter P can be adjusted continuously so as to obtain a continuous variation of the power of the installation.
In a gas turbine, the rate of fuel delivery is limited by temperature considerations and the need to avoid disruption of the aerodynamic flow.
In the operation of the restriction circuit, a voltage proportional to the speed of the turbine is applied to the resistors 82 and 83.
The maximum admissible rate of fuel injection depends on the speed of the turbine and in the embodiment described, the voltage across the.
resistance 83 is defined substantially by a function of the voltage taken from the rectifier 81 which is the same as that which defines the maximum fuel flow rate with respect to the speed of the turbine. The high voltage p on the potentiometer contact 61 indicates the fuel flow at a moment
and, consequently, the difference between the voltages at this contact and at the terminals of the resistor 83 defines at the time considered the possibility of a permissible increase α = in the fuel flow rate.
Rectifier 84 prevents current from flowing when the voltage at contact 61 is less than that taken from resistor 83, so that the restriction circuit is normally incapable of modifying the operation of the installation. However, if,
at any time the rate of fuel delivery should approach the maximum allowable rate of fuel delivery at the.
speed at which the turbine operates at any time, the voltage at the contact 61 will exceed that taken from the resistor 83 and the current will be able to pass through the rectifier 84 and the coils OCFR3 and OCOR3. The OCPR3 coil will then operate in such a way as to reduce the distribution of the coin-bustible and thus prevent any increase.
of the fuel delivery rate, while the OCOR3 coil will operate in such a way as to reduce the output power of the generators and, therefore, at the very moment when the fuel delivery is limited,
it will reduce the load on the generator to allow an increase in the speed of the turbine. As the turbine speed increases, the fuel flow rate can increase in a corresponding manner.
The fuel regulator is also subject to predominant control by the OCb'R4 coil, which, as described in <B> detail </B>, in patent No. 304589,
is exeitée as a function of the temperature of the exhaust gases when the latter exceeds a determined maximum value in order to reduce the fuel distribution rate and thus prevent this temperature from exceeding said maximum. Such an arrangement is particularly advantageous in installations which have to operate with large <RTI
ID = "0006.0008"> deviations in ambient temperature or atmospheric pressure.
One or more of each of the <I> FR, OR </I> and <I> TER </I> vibrator regulators can be replaced by any other appropriate form of device reacting to the desired quantities and capable of adjusting, as the case may be, 1st rate of fuel input, or generator excitation as a function of turbine speed,
or the excitation of the generator as a function of the armature circuit or of the traction force. For example, the windings controlled by the regulators can be fitted in the output circuits of dynamos, preferably of the armature feedback type and metadynes.
or in the output circuits of magnetic amplifiers (transducers), or electronic amplifiers, the input windings of dynamos or transducers. where the:
- input circuits of the electronic amplifiers being intended to produce in the output circuits the components desired as a function of the magnitudes to which the various control coils of the regulators react, as described above.
