Dent artificielle.
Artificial tooth.
In terms of dental prosthesis, it has been observed that so-called veneered teeth must meet a threefold condition: be strong enough not to break under a strong masticatory effort, not to (loosen them from the plate-support, and be 'a uniform white color, without shadow, in particular without visibility of the assembly of the facet with the support.
The object of the present invention is an artificial tooth and its object is to obtain an increase in mechanical resistance, an improvement in the retention of the tooth on the prosthesis piece, and better concealment of the assembly of the two pieces to avoid the shade usually visible on known teeth.
The artificial tooth forming the object of the invention, consisting of a molded mass, the dorsal face of which is hollowed out over at least part of its length by a groove intended to receive the post of the prosthesis piece, and by a frame embedded in the molded mass, and which conforms to the contour of the groove, thus having a substantially omega-shaped cross section, is characterized by the fact that said frame has a multitude of closely spaced holes.
Cadette frame applied to a molar facet, the profile section of which is substantially a square, is advantageously com- pressed by a second frame running along the dorsal face of the square not comprising an interlocking groove, that is to say say making an angle with the dorsal face by including a.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, several embodiments of the artificial tooth which is the subject of the present invention.
Figs. 1 and 3 show an incisor in cross section.
Fig. 2 shows in perspective in rear view an incisor whose framework is constituted by a mesh.
Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the same type of tooth, but the reinforcement of which consists of a perforated sheet.
Fig. 5 is a side view of a molar.
Fig. 6 is a section along A-ft of FIG. 5.
Fig. 7 is a vertical sectional elevation along B-B of FIG. 5.
In fig. 1 and 2, the artificial tooth, here an incisor, is formed by a mass 1 of porcelain or synthetic resin (acrylic resin, for example), having a groove 2 on its posterior face 3 and intended to receive the post secured to the prosthesis part. In the case shown in these two figures, the mass 1 is reinforced by a frame 4, consisting of a sheet of metal mesh embedded in the mass of the material 01l embedded in the material limiting all or part of the dorsal face 3 and the sure
faee, inside the groove 2, said reinforcement drawing in cross section of the
tooth a kind of Greek letter omega.
In fig. 3 and 4, the frame 4c is constituted by a thin sheet, shaped, as has just been said for the netting, said sheet being perforated or, better still, punctured, that is to say pierced by a means which leaves burrs on one face increasing the adhesion of the cement.
One or the other of these reinforcements plays, vis-à-vis the facet, the same role as the iron in the cement concrete used in the constructions, but, in addition, it forms a screen, veiling the metal tenon. assembly, by equalizing the distribution of the reflected light rays, since this frame is placed between said tenon and the visible face of the facet.
By embedding the framework in the wall of the dorsal face, roughness is created on this face, which improves the retention of the facet on the prosthesis support, by facilitating the adhesion of the dental cement.
It is easy to understand that the concealment of the post being the main concern of the dental technician; it is advisable to adopt a very perforated frame or, better, a wire mesh.
As seen in Figs. 5, 6 and 7, the molar consists of a mass 1 having substantially the shape of a set square.
This molar has a vertical groove 2 made in the mass 1 adjacent to the dorsal face 3, this groove being intended to receive the post of the prosthesis part 5.
The frame 4a, which has substantially the section iiii omega, follows the posterior contour of the tooth: the two branches of the dorsal face 3 and the periphery of the groove 2; it therefore hides the post of bridge 5.
This reinforcement 4a can be produced by a duly shaped, perforated or, better still, punctured sheet, or by a mesh. It can be embedded in the mass or simply embedded along the wall.
Likewise, the other branch 6 of the square is reinforced by a frame 4b which, like the frame 4a, can be formed by a perforated sheet, or by a mesh.
These deiix reinforcements are either independent of one another or integral with one and the same sheet of mesh being able, for example, to be shaped to play the role of two reinforcements.
Advantageously, these reinforcements 4, a, 4à, Oc, are made of resistant metal, white in color, or the appearance of which is made white by any process, a silver metal for example.
