Futterautomat f r Jungschweine.

Fig. 4 zeigt einen Schnitt gemäss der Linie A-A in Fig. l in grösserem Massstab gezeichnet.

Automatic feeder for young pigs.
The subject of the present invention is a feeding machine for young wines with a feeding trough and a storage container for the dry fodder arranged above it, as well as a lower movable closure of the storage container which can be actuated by the animal for the purpose of lifting the feed axis.
According to the invention, this automatic feeder is characterized in that the said closure is formed by a tongue that is attached to the inside of the rear wall of the container, the lower end of the front container wall and protruding with its free end into the feeding trough, which is held in its closed position by spring force is, and further means are arranged by means of which the range of motion of the tongue and thus the feed rate can be adjusted.
The accompanying drawing illustrates an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. Show it :
1 shows a front view of an automatic feeder for young boys' wines provided with a drinking bowl,
Fig. 2 is a front view of the same with removed from the Tränkebeeken and
FIG. 3 is a plan view of the machine according to FIG. 1.
Fig. 4 shows a section along the line A-A in Fig. 1 drawn on a larger scale.
Fig. 5 shows a full-pictorial representation of the coupling side of the drinking pool and
6 shows the counterpart attached to the machine housing for coupling the drinking pool.
The automatic feeder shown has two vertical, wooden side walls 1 and 2, which at the same time form the end of the storage container and the feeding trough. The lower edge part of these side walls is rounded in the form of an arc of a circle; the front, in Fig. 2 and 4 right edge portion is concave. Both side walls 1 and 2 are connected to one another by a board 3 which simultaneously forms the rear wall of the storage container. The front wall of the storage container is formed by a further board 4 which runs obliquely from top right to bottom left in FIG. 4 and is arranged between the two side walls, likewise connecting them to one another.
The upper end of the storage container is formed by a lid 6 provided with hinges 5. A sheet 7 made of corrosion-resistant material and running from the lower end of the rear wall 3 over the round edge portions of the two side walls forms the feeding trough together with the lower parts of the side walls 1 and 2.
The lower end of the storage container located above the feeding trough is formed by a tongue 8 made of corrosion-resistant material which extends in its width over the clear width of the storage container.
With one broad side, which for reasons of rigidity is provided with a bead 9 running in its longitudinal direction, this tongue 8 is attached to the inside of the container rear wall 3 in a recess 10 provided for this purpose in such a way that it is at an acute angle to the front wall 4, together with it forming a funnel, runs. The length of the tongue 8 is dimensioned such that its free end overlaps the lower edge of the container wall 4 and protrudes into the space of the feeding trough, where it is rolled up, also for reasons of rigidity (FIG. 4).
In this way the tongue 8 is pivotable about its attachment end.
A two-way in the middle of the width of the tongue 8 in the interior of the supply container arranged lmd lying in a sleeve 11 tension spring 12 is supported at one end on the tongue 8 and at the other end on a hook 13 attached to the inside of the container front wall 4 in such a way that the force the spring 12 presses one side of the tongue against the lower edge of the front wall 4, with which the storage container is closed at the bottom.
By pressing on the part of the tongue 8 protruding into the trough against the force of the spring 12, which is caused by poking the animal's snout when eating, the tongue 8 briefly swivels into the position shown in phantom in FIG. 4, in which part of the dry food located in the storage container can trickle into the feeding trough. The closing force of the spring 12 can be adjusted by increasing its bias according to the requirements of the growing animals in that the end of the spring 12 supported on the hook 13 is hooked into one of two further hooks 14 or 15 arranged above the hook 13.
Since the amount of dry food trickling into the feeding trough from the reservoir intermittently depends on the size of the gap between the tongue 8 and the lower end of the front wall 4, it is possible to set the maximum portion amount in advance by limiting the pivoting range of the tongue 8. In the example shown, this is achieved by two link chains 16 and 17, one of which is assigned to one of the side walls 1 and 2. One end of each of these chains is firmly connected to the free end of the tongue 8, the other end is attached with one of its links to a hook 18 or 19 screwed into the side wall 1 or 2 above the end of the tongue for this purpose.
The effective length of the chain (dashed and dotted line) and thus the maximum pivoting range of the tongue 8 can be set by appropriately hanging in a certain link.
On the outside of the wall 1, a swallow-tailed bracket 20 is screwed horizontally, which serves to detachably hold a drinking bowl 21 with a semicircular bottom. For this purpose, two vertical bars 22 made of flat iron, which also serve as footrests for the beeing, are arranged on the front side of the drinking pond 21. To attach the drinking bowl 21, the same is pushed from top to bottom with its strips 22 behind the protruding ends of the bracket 20.
A swivel bolt 23, which is also fastened to the outside of the wall 1 and rests against the upper edge of the pool in the closing position, is used to prevent unwanted upward displacement in the direction of uncoupling.
