Compressor: The present invention relates to a piston compressor, mounted at the end of the shaft of a drive motor, and whose piston is driven by means of an eccentric whose collar is connected to said piston. by a rod.
This .compressor is characterized in that the piston is rigidly secured to said rod, and comprises a disc having at its periphery a spherical zone belonging to a sphere whose diameter is equal to the bore of the cylinder.
The drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the compressor according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a cross-sectional view, taken through A-A of FIG. 2, of a first embodiment.
Fig. 2 is an axial sectional view of this embodiment.
Fig. 3 is a view similar to that of FIG. 1, of the second embodiment. Fig. 4 is a sectional view through B-B of FIG. 3.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the compressor consists of a cast iron body 1 supporting a rear bearing 2. A flange 3, which supports a front bearing 4, is bolted, on the one hand, to the body 1, with the interposition of a sealing piece 5 and, on the other hand, fixed by screws 6 on the flange of an electric motor 7. In the front and rear bearings 4 and \ 'turns a shaft 8' which is made integral with the coaxial shaft 9 of the electric motor 7, without keying, by a cone 10 formed on said shaft.
The tightness of the compressor, on the side of the motor 7, is ensured by the greasy friction, against the end of the shaft 8 ', of a prison 11, engaged on the shaft 9, and by a washer 12, in synthetic rubber for example, forming a seal between the ring 11 and the flange 3. An assembly comprising a ball 13, a stop 14 and a spring 15, the latter two being housed in a bore of the shaft 8 ', ensures permanent contact of the ring 11 with the end of the shaft 8 ', the spring 1.5 bearing on a ring 14a integral with the stop 14.
A counterweight 16, fixed by screw on this eccentric 8, balances the moving parts.
The piston 18 is actuated by the eccentric 8 carried by the shaft 8 'and integrally with the latter. This piston moves in the plug 19 engaged in the body 1. In a variant, the piston could move directly in a bore of the body of the compressor. -On the end of this sleeve 19 supports the plate 20 carrying the discharge valve 25, with the interposition of a sealing washer 21.
A compressor head 22, made of em bouti steel, is fixed by bolts 23 on the body of the compressor, with the interposition of a sealing washer 24. The valve 25 is made of spring steel.
The compressor head 22 is divided into two chambers: on the one hand, a discharge chamber 26 to which a pipe 27 is connected, and a cooling chamber 28 to which the pipes 29 and 30 are brazed. These three pipes are connected. to the condenser by the means which will be described below.
The eccentric 8 rotates in a collar 17 which is in one piece with a rod to which the piston 18 is rigidly fixed.
The piston 18 comprises a disc having at its periphery a spherical zone belonging to a fine sphere, the diameter of which is equal to the bore of the sleeve 19. The result is that this piston, in its stroke, is not, at each moment, in contact with this jacket 19 only by the circumference of a large circle of the sphere, this contact ensuring., by itself, the seal. For the lightness of the assembly, the piston is preferably hollow inside.
The lubrication of all the moving parts of the compressor described is ensured at 1, the pressure corresponding to the suction pressure, continuously with, at each moment, renewal of the lubricant.
For this purpose, the refrigerant is admitted mixed with a small quantity of lubricant which, constantly renewed, reaches all the moving parts, while the refrigerant, sucked in at a temperature close to the expansion temperature, cools vigorously says said moving parts and maintains the lubricant at a temperature low enough to retain its qualities.
In this way, the lubricant is distributed very rationally over the working parts, which consequently makes it possible to limit to a minimum the quantity of lubricant admitted into the circuit.
The operation of the compressor described above is as follows: The reciprocating movement of the piston has the effect of sucking up the intimate mixture: agent. refrigerant and lubricant - which, for the sake of simplicity, will be referred to below as fluid and delivers it into chamber 26.
The fluid enters the body of the compressor through the orifice 31, passes through the filter 32, made up of metal screens housed in a cavity 33 made in the rear bearing 2, then through the orifices 34 of this same bearing, circulates in its circular groove 35 where it divides for the first time, a small quantity of fluid engaging in the groove 36 to ensure the lubrication of the bearing before spreading into the body of the compressor.
The remainder of the fluid passes through the side ports 37 in the bore of the shaft 8 ', lubricates the ball 13 and its stop 14, then divides again into two unequal parts, one of which penetrates, through the channels 38, communicating with the bore of the shaft, in the circular groove 39 of the collar 17 to spread into the body of the compressor, through the grooves 40 and thus lubricate this collar 17 in contact with the eccentric 8; the rest of the fluid enters the channel 41 drilled in the shaft to divide further, a part passing, through the orifice 42, in the circular groove 43 of the front bearing 4 to escape into the body of the compressor through the groove 44 of this bearing which it lubricates.
The remainder of the fluid leaves the channel 41 to enter the chamber 4.5 behind the ring 11, which it by-passes by lubricating it and returns to the body of the compressor through the orifice 46.
The fluid, thus spread in the body of the compressor, is sucked by the piston 18, through the openings 49 of the jacket 19.
The delivery circuit is carried out as follows: The fluid, compressed by the piston, is discharged through the orifice 48, lifts the valve 25 which ensures, on the descent of the piston, the seal between the circuit d suction and the delivery circuit. The pressurized gas enters chamber 26, passes through pipe 27 to enter a first condenser where it is partially liquefied, returns to cooling chamber 28 through pipe 29, vaporizes by heat exchange with the com pressure chamber 26, cools the latter and exits through pipe 30 to pass into a second condenser and continue the refrigeration circuit.
In the form of execution shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the shaft 9 of an electric motor which, at the end of the shaft of which the com pressor is mounted, rotates in a single support bearing 49 of this compressor. This bearing is turned by a chamber 50 which constitutes a lubricant reservoir. On the end of this shaft is screwed the eccentric 8 to which is fixed a balancing counterweight 16. The eccentric 8 rotates in the collar 17 to which is firmly fixed a rod in one piece with the piston 18, shaped disk having at its periphery a spherical zone, as in the compressor shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
The eccentric and its collar are housed in a housing on which is mounted the cylinder 1, provided with intake notches 69, in which the piston 18 works. This cylinder is closed by a plate 56 provided with discharge orifices. 57. This plate 56 is surmounted by a yoke forming a dewatering device. This device comprises -liques metal sheets, part of which is housed in a space 51 between the outer wall of the cylinder head and a tubular partition 52; the other part occupying a space 53 inside the. partition 52, space 53 which communicates with space 51 through orifices 54 of this partition its 52.
The orifices 57 are controlled by lamellar valves 58, the antagonist springs 59 of which are supported on a cup 60 housed in a space 64 surrounded by the partition 62 and separated from the space 53 by a transverse partition 61. A spring 63, of Your rage greater than that of the valve springs 59, is interposed between the cup 60 and the partition 61. The space 64, into which openings 57 emerge, communicates with Pespace 51 through orifices 55 of the partition 52 .
The gas which supplies the compressor being admitted into the reservoir 50 through the pipe 65, the lubricant contained in this reservoir 50 is driven, through channels 66 and 67, from the bearing 49, and the intimate mixture of gas and lubricant, arrives in the chamber 68 of the crankcase, from where it is sucked into the cylinder 1 by the notches 69. This mixture is delivered by the .piston 18 through the orifices 57 by lifting either, in normal operation, only the valves 58, or, in case of excess lubricant, both these valves 58 and the cup 60.
The mixture of gas and lubricant penetrates, through the orifices 55, into the space 51 of the oil separator where the gas leaves the lubricant, which is retained by the wire mesh; the de-oiling being completed by the passage of the gas through the screens of the space 53, the gas freed of any lubricant is conveyed through the pipe 70 to the refrigerant circuit.
The discharge pressure being greater than the suction pressure, the lubricant retained by the oil separator flows through the pipe 71 which returns it to the reservoir 50.
This arrangement, in addition to having the advantage of limiting the circulation of oil to the compressor by preventing it from accessing the refrigerant circuit, increases the cooling surface of the cylinder head, the internal volume of which is used to constitute the oil separator. ; outer fins 72 ensure better cooling of the cylinder head and valves.
The use of a disk-shaped piston with a spherical peripheral zone ensures noise-free operation and absolute sealing between piston and cylinder. In a variant of the compressor of FIGS. 3 and 4, the cylinder head and cylinder, as well as the crankcase and the other parts of its frame, could be made of pressed sheet metal.
