Description

Pancarte publicitaire.

Advertising sign. The present invention relates to an advertising sign, constituted by a sheet of cardboard, a part of which forming an advertising panel is presented to. view and of which at least another part contiguous to said panel is. folded back to form. a fold between it and this panel.

Swiss patent N 31.0671 relates to a curved advertising sign in which the advertising panel is curved by the fact that key tongues which extend it. beyond its upper edge and from its lower edge over part of the length of these edges are connected along die two concurrent folds with two parts folded back.

The present invention a. for object an advertising sign in which the curvature of the panel is. obtained by other nioy ens.

The advertising sign according to the present invention is characterized in that the advertising board has a curved surface in that the aforesaid fold is a curved fold and. in that a means prevents said part folded back towards the rear from coming back towards Fava.nt under the effect of the elasticity of the sheet of cardboard which tends to bring the whole of years back the original plan of the. leaf.

The attached drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, four embodiments of the advertising sign according to the invention. Figs. 1, 3 and 5 represent, each in elevation, a cardboard sheet which, by folding, can give rise to a curved advertising sign according to the invention, the corresponding finished signs being shown in perspective, respectively in FIGS. 2, 4 and 6.

In these different figures, the same reference notations designate identical elements.

In fig. 1, we have. shown a flat cardboard sheet in which a window 2 has been provided, the usefulness of which will become apparent. further. This sheet can be folded along a curved line 3. The part of this sheet to the left of the curved line 3 is denoted by 4, while the part to the right of this line is. designated by 5. When the bending is effected along this line., the. sign obtained is presented as shown in FIG. 2, where it can be seen that part 4 is curved and presents, towards the front, a convex face, while part 5 is. concave.

To allow the formation of a curved fold such as 3, the fold can be prepared along the intended line, for example, by the operation well known in cardboard work called upsetting and which consists of pushing the cardboard back so forming a groove on one side and a rib on the opposite side.

The parts 4 and 5 are stressed by the elasticity of the cardboard sheet to return to their initial position. They are forced to remain in the position shown in FIG. 2, using an object. 6 clamped between lips 7 and 8 of window 2. Cet. object. can: be constituted, for example, by a packaging box of a product. for which of the. advertisement is made on the sign. This means, thanks to which we force the. part 5 to remain curved backwards despite the elastic force of the cardboard which seeks to bring the whole into a plane, therefore offers the advantage of showing the product for which it is made. advertising.

In fig. 3, there is shown a sheet of cardboard which can be folded along two curved lines 3 and. 9. The part 4 of this sheet between these lines constitutes the advertising panel intended to be presented to view, while the parts outside the same lines are. designated respectively by 5 and 10.

When these latter parts are. folded back along curved lines 3 and. 9, the advertising panel 4 is curved and presents, towards the front, a concave face, as shown in FIG. 4.

In order to force parts 5 and 10 to remain in the folded position in which they are shown in FIG. 4-, another sheet of cardboard 14 is used which, lying flat, is. phis wide than the. distance between the lips 7 and 8 of the. window 2 formed in the sheet shown in. fig. 3. This window 2 extends over the entire. width of the advertising panel, as well as in the two parts 5 and 10 intended to be folded back.

The contours 15 and 16 of the ends of the window 2 in the parts 5 and 7 0 allow, after folding these parts backwards, to accommodate in the window the sheet 14 previously curved towards the rear, in a manner that its edges abut behind lips 7 and 8.

The second sheet of cardboard 14 is for view towards its retaining ends 11 and 12. parts 5 and 10 folded back by pressing against them. These parts are kept at a suitable distance from each other by means of a strip 13 which the sheet 14 presents along one of its long sides and which is. folded back between parts 5 and 10.

The form. execution shown in fig. 3 and 4 presents the avanta-e to give rise to a sign presenting. two distinctly different Curvatures, one of the curved boxes, the one signed by 14; serving (thanks to its heels 11 and 12, to maintain the other cardboard in the. curved form. In addition, one can. easily combine with an advertisement made on the large curved panel 4 for a firm selling several products, polo advertisements each of these products made on sheets of cardboard 7-1 which can be substituted for each other at will.

In the cardboard sheet shown in fi-. 5, we have. prepared by upsetting the fold lines 3, 9, 39, 40, 41. and 42. We also have. cut the sheet along a line 43, so that parts 44 and 45 between line 43 and lines 39 and can be folded back. 40, along these last lines. In addition, slots 46 and 47 have been provided in these parts 44 and 45 for receiving tabs 48 and. 49. These are.

integral with parties 50 and. 51 which can be folded relative to parts 5 and 10 along lines 41 and 42. When parts 5 and. 10 are. folded back, along lines 3 and 9, that parts 50 and 51 are. folded back and. upward along lines 41 and 42 and that parts 44 and 45 are folded back along lines 39 and 40, the tabs 48 and 49 can easily be inserted into the slots 46 and -17.

The advertising panel thus obtained is shown in FIG. 6.

Over there. shape that we give to the Curved folds and by the relative position of these, we can create signs including. the original aspects are very varied. Some give a striking sculptural impression.
