Description
La fig. 3 est une coupe suivant 111-I11 de la fig. 1.
<B> Chain </B> with meshing function The present invention relates to a chain with meshing function.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the chain which is the subject of the invention, as well as a variant of this embodiment.
Fig. 1 is a partial view thereof obtained by projection onto a plane normal to the articulation axes of the chain.
Fig. 2 is a section along <I> 11-11 </I> of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a section on 111-I11 of FIG. 1.
Fig. 4 is a perspective view of a yoke of one of the links shown in FIG. 1.
Fig. 5 is another perspective view of the yoke of FIG. 4.
Fig. 6 is a perspective view of a yoke of another link seen in FIG. 1.
Fig. 7 is another perspective view of the yoke of FIG. 6.
Fig. 8 is a section similar to FIG. 3 of a variant of the yoke shown in FIGS. 3 to 5.
Figs. 9 and 10 are two different perspective views of the yoke shown in FIG. 8. The embodiment of the chain shown in figs. 1 to 7 comprises links of two different types <I> a </I> and b, the first of which are simple links and the others of which are fitted with excavating tools c.
The links b are separated from each other by one, two or more simple links a. The tools c are designed with a view to a particular use of the chain, that which it has when it is part of a machine for stripping the tracks of their ballast and when it is mounted on guides determining an inclined polygonal course of which a lower section passes under the sleepers of the track to be stripped. These tools are then used to break up the ballast under these sleepers and to drive it upwards along one of the lateral guides of this route.
The tools can be buckets, in particular when the plane of the path of the chain is vertical.
Whatever the shape of the tools, the links b which carry them and the simple links a have the following points in common, each of the links of the two types is double, comprising a rigid clevis d of which each of the cheeks d2 and d3 has two holes which determine the two axes of articulation. The two holes e of the same end of the link have the same diameter which is greater than that of the two holes f of the opposite end.
The thickness of the cheeks d2 and d3 in their middle parts g is reduced to half around all the holes by means of notches h which are located on the inside around the small holes f and notches <I > i </I> located on the outside around the large holes e.
The ends of the chaps are rounded cylindrically according to the axes of the corresponding holes and the indentations <I> h </I> and <I> i </I> are large enough so that each clevis can embrace by its end. small holes the end with large holes of another and that the axes of the two pairs of holes can meet without the rounded edges touching the peripheral surfaces of the notches.
Each articulation comprises a tube k fixed by its two ends in the holes e and freely passing through a roller m introduced into the yoke. This tube comes flush with the indentations <I> i. </I> It serves as a journal for the <I> m </I> roller and as a pad for a tubular dowel n which traverses it freely and whose two ends are forcibly engaged in the small holes f. This ankle and this tube k are both made somewhat flexible by a longitudinal slit, not shown. Their diameters are such, in their relaxed state, that they must be forced to bend to put them in place in their holes.
This construction, without any rivets or screws, facilitates disassembly and replacement of worn parts, simple tools of appropriate dimensions to drive these tubes <I> k </I> and <I> n </I> out of the holes e and f.
Tool c presents, projected onto a plane normal to the path of the chain, the general shape of a trapezoid, one long side of which normally extends to the plane passing through the two axes of link b opposite to the play d3. At the end of this side, the tool has a blunt point q, at which it is reinforced at the rear by a rib p. The opposite side is shorter, extends obliquely away from it, and the material which connects them forms a shovel able to push the material in front of it.
This oblique side extends from an extension of the bottom <I> dl </I> of the screed outside the external face of the cheek d., And is extended, on the side of this cheek, by a wall of the same inclination as to its edge. The links a (Fig. 6 and 7) also have such an inclined wall, the chain shown being intended to be mounted in guides with flared walls, not shown.
A variant could consist only of links a without tools and these links could not have this inclined wall nor the extension of the bottom <I> dl. </I>
The variant shown in FIGS. 8 to 10 comprises links provided with tools presenting a second point s, formed towards the end of the small oblique side. A rib t strengthens the tool at the rear by connecting this point to the part of the bottom <I> dl </I> of the yoke which is at the level of the cheek d2. The face of the tool between the outer edge and the <I> dl </I> bottom presents a concavity towards the front.
In another variant, the second point could also be in the middle of the outer edge. It is useful in cases where the chain is used to break up very compact ballasts.
