Electromechanical device for generating oscillating and rotating movements for electrical apparatus in time measurement technology
It is known, in electromechanical devices for generating oscillatory and rotary movements for electrical apparatus of time measurement technology, in particular clocks, to maintain their state of motion via an electronic circuit that includes a direct current source, at least one impedance and at least one electronic element periodically connecting the impedance to the direct current source contains.
The electronic relaxation circuit, the z. B. can be formed by a coil and a relatively movable part can be alternately brought into and out of oscillation condition by the periodic interaction of these two parts.
Electromechanical devices of this type have the disadvantage that after the rotor has come to a standstill, there is no clear direction of rotation when it starts up again.
It is also known, with the aid of a magnet, to put the part that is movable relative to the coil into a state of rest when the coil is de-energized so that the start-up of the rotor is facilitated when the coil is energized. However, this solution to the problem has not been satisfactory. You needed a transistor in order to get the rotor to start up immediately. However, since transistors are known to have a very strong temperature dependency, there is no guarantee when used that the desired direction of rotation will be achieved with certainty and without delay when the rotor starts up again.
The invention is based on the object of eliminating these disadvantages and of providing automatic means for determining the direction of rotation which operate without a mechanical lock and consequently do not cause any friction, as is the case with the known locks, and which do not require a transistor.
The invention consists in that in the case of an electrical mechanical device for generating vibratory and rotary movements for electrical apparatus in time measurement technology, the state of movement of which is maintained by an electronic circuit that contains a direct current source at least one impedance and at least one electronic element periodically connecting the impedance to the direct current source , at least one impedance is interconnected with a tunnel diode that forms a negative resistance at least temporarily due to a negative branch of its current-voltage characteristic curve in such a way that the drive impedance can also serve as a control impedance, and wherein the tunnel diode is interconnected with the drive and control impedance as a relaxation oscillator,
which part is in relative movement relative to the impedance and is in mutual controlling and driving relationship controllable in its relative movement rhythm, so that the operating point in the rest position of the parts set in oscillation or rotation is set so that the electronic circuit begins to oscillate as soon as the Power source is connected, and that means are provided that ensure a certain position of the oscillator or rotator forming the moving part in the de-energized state of the drive and control impedance, such that the oscillator or rotator at the moment the electronic circuit is connected to the supply current source assumes such a position that it is caused to start up in the desired direction by the relaxation current that starts immediately.
Such a device has the advantage that when the electronic circuit is connected to the supply current source, the instantaneous relaxation current causes the rotor to start up in the desired direction without having to accept the uncertainty associated with the use of transistors due to the temperature dependency .
1 and 2 show an example embodiment according to the invention in which the rotor, which according to another embodiment could also be a permanent magnet, is a soft iron rod and means are provided through which a certain position of the rotor is always ensured in the currentless state and this ensures a self-start in a certain direction.
L denotes a coil which is connected in series with a resistor R, a tunnel diode Td and a voltage source U. The circuit is dimensioned so that it works as a relaxation oscillator.
Fig. 1 shows the characteristics of the tunnel diode Td in the usual representation.
A non-permanent magnetic rotor 5 in the form of an elongated body is oriented to the coil L in such a way that it is periodically acted upon by the intermittently energized coil and thereby executes a continuous rotary movement. A permanent magnet 6 is rigidly connected to the rotor 5, which constantly follows the rotation of the rotor 5 around the shaft 7 and moves in the magnetic field of a spatially fixed second magnet 8, which is designed as a permanent magnet according to the embodiment. This magnet 8 fulfills the task of forcing the rotor, when the coil L is de-energized, into such a rest position in which the electronic circuit begins to oscillate when the coil is energized.
This has the consequence that the rotor is in any case in one position when it is switched on again, regardless of its position at the time of switching off the rotor.
in which an automatic, safe start is always guaranteed in the same direction.
The invention is not restricted to the exemplary embodiment. The electrical circuit can e.g. B.
the tunnel diode is also connected in parallel instead of in series. Stabilizing means, for example a capacitance of suitable dimensioning, can be provided in the electronic circuit to determine the frequency.
