Device for removing foreign bodies from the stomach of animals, particularly ruminants
Devices for removing foreign bodies from the stomach of ruminants have already become known. These executions consist of a torsion-proof, flexible cuff at the front end and a rigid mandrel at the rear end and a fishing device arranged in this insertion tube, as well as means that can be operated from the handpiece to laterally bend the front part of the fishing gear.
At the front end of a flexible support, the catching device has a catching head which is designed as a permanent magnet or electromagnet. These known devices are inserted through the esophagus into the stomach of the animal to be treated with the catching head wrapped in the cuff. The catching head is then moved out of the cuff by a device that can be operated from the handpiece by longitudinally displacing the carrier. By activating the means for lateral bending of the front part of the fishing gear, the fishing head can be brought up to the alagen wall.
By turning the handle including the fishing gear, the muzzle head can also be shifted periplier, so that it is possible to scan all the places where foreign bodies can be found in the stomach when manipulated. As a rule, foreign bodies consist of iron and are then, or if they consist of other magnetic material, attracted and held by the interception head. By pulling back the carrier, the interception head is lifted back into the sleeve and then the entire device is removed from the feed pipe - Pulled, the cuff protecting any foreign bodies held by the catching head against being wiped off when passing through the esophagus.
The means for the lateral bending of the front part of the fishing gear consist in the mentioned known devices of a pulling member which can be actuated from the handpiece, which is anchored within the hollow handpiece on a manual actuating lever and from here in the insertion tube to an in The point located at the front end part runs in which it is guided to the outside through an opening. It then runs loosely along the outside of the particularly flexible end part of the insertion tube and is attached to the outside at its end.
By tightening the tension member by means of the hand lever, the front end part of the insertion tube can therefore be bent to the side on which the tension member runs along the outside of the end part.
The invention relates to a device of the type mentioned above, in which, however, the means for lateral turning of the front part of the fishing gear are designed differently. The device according to the invention is characterized in that the front end part of the support of the fishing device consists of a member which is only flexible in one axial plane and that a tension member, which is arranged eccentrically to the neutral fiber of this end member, engages at the front end of the support ii- (i Handpiece of the insertion tube attacks the mounted control element.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a view partly in tell longitudinal section with.
FIG. 2 shows the fishing gear on a larger scale in section near the line IN-IN in FIG. 1.
As can be seen from Fig. 1, the device shown has an insertion tube 1 and a fishing device 2 arranged in this. The insertion tube 1 consists of torsion-resistant, flexible material and has a sleeve 3 at the front end, while at the rear end a rigid tubular piece 4 made of metal, on which a rigid, sleeve-shaped handpiece 5 is mounted so as to be longitudinally displaceable. The middle part of the insertion tube consists of the flexible tube piece 6 with a smaller diameter.
The tubular piece 4 has a longitudinal seat 7 through which the shorter lever arm 8 of an angle lever 9 is inserted, the longer lever arm 1 of which is designed as a handle. The lever 9 is supported so that it can be pivoted by means of a transverse pin 11 on a tab 12 seated on the handpiece 5. The flap 12 is provided with a tongue 13 which is also inserted through the slot 7 into the tubular piece 4, the end part of which has a threaded hole into which the rear end part of the fishing gear 2 is anchored by screwing. As can best be seen from FIG. 2, the fishing gear 2 has a nipple 14 at the rear end, the rear threaded pin 15 of which is screwed into the tongue 13.
The nipple 14 sits on the other hand on a pressure and torsion-resistant tube M, the front end of which is seated in a bluff 17 which is screwed to a nipple 18. The nipple 18 sits on a supple, flexible pipe piece 19, the other end of which is again releasably connected by means of a sleeve 17 'and a nipple 18' to another smoothly flexible pipe piece 20 0, on the front end of which a nipple 21 is seated. A catch head 23 is placed on the threaded pin 22 of the nipple 2'1 (FIG. 1).
The catching head consists of a drum basket 24 and a Nlagnet 25 arranged within it, which in the present case is designed as a rod-shaped permanent magnet. The Fatskorb 24 has a central threaded hole on the rear end part, by means of which it is screwed onto the nipple pin 22.
At the front end, the catching head 24 has rearwardly directed prongs 26 of different lengths and barrel channels which narrow in the front and are located between these. On nipple 21 and on the. Sockets 17, 17 'are each a central helical spring 27 or 28 or
29 attached, which of the Rohrstiieken 20 and
19 or 16 is encased with play. The other end of the spring 20 is fastened in the nipple 14 and thereby causes the tubular piece 16 to be stiffened, in particular against torsional forces.
In contrast, the springs 27, 28 are only held by the clamping of their front ends and have a certain amount of play in the axial direction with respect to the nipples 18, 18 '.
A flexible tension member 30 in the form of a cable, which has a cylindrical head 31 at the front end, which cooperates with the face of the nipple pin 22, is passed through the entire tray of the fishing gear. At the rear end, the tension member 30 has a conical head 32 which works together with the arm 8 of the lever 9 (FIG. 1). For this purpose, the arm 8 is provided in the free end part with a corre sponding, near the rear conically widened bore through which the tension member 30 is felt.
As can be seen from FIG. 2, a spring leaf 33 is attached to the back of the nipple 21, which runs outside and along the tube 20 and whose rear end is attached to the nipple 18 '. The spring leaf is rigidly clamped in the nipples 21 and 18 ′ and is arranged such that only the narrow side is visible in the illustration according to FIG. 2. The width, not shown, is dimensioned such that the spring leaf 33 is only flexible in the axial plane shown by the image plane of FIG. 2 for the forces under consideration here, but behaves rigidly against bending in another direction. In addition, the spring leaf is pressure-resistant. It is expediently made of rustproof metal.
As a result of the leaf spring 33, the front end member of the support of the fishing device is only flexible in the aforementioned axial plane, the spring leaf 3 having the neutral fiber, which is eccentric to the tension member 30. Is therefore by operating the hand lever 9, the one shown in FIG End position by one on the tongue 12.
seated stop pin 34 is seen, exerted a pull on the tension member 30 in the direction of arrow 35, then the front end member of the fishing device is bent accordingly, the tube piece 20 located from elastic, flexible material is compressed, with a corresponding reduction in the play between the spring 27 and the bottom of the nipple 18 '. The degree of bending is limited by the fact that the spring 27 comes to rest on the bottom of the nipple.
If an even greater tensile force is exerted, this limit can be exceeded, with a corresponding elasticity. Compression of the spring 27.
The carrier part adjacent to the front end member of the carrier of the fishing device can also consist, in a manner analogous to the end member, of a member that is only partially flexible in a predetermined axial plane.
For two purposes, this axial plane is arranged at right angles to the axial plane of the end member, which is achieved in that a spring leaf similar to spring leaf 33 is clamped between sleeve 17 'and the sleeve 18 behind it, which is offset by 90 peripherally relative to spring leaf 3.
For the time being, the device is only lifted in so far for use that the second foremost limb of the safety gear is still completely inside the esophagus and so only the anterior end limb protrudes from it. The feed pipe then stiffens the second foremost link such that only the front end link is bent when handling the handle 9. If the second foremost link is then also to be bent, then the device is pushed further through the esophagus by a corresponding amount. Of course, it should also be noted here how far the catch head 28 is pushed out of the sleeve 3.
1 shows the completely extended position in which the tongue 13 lies snugly against the pipe section 4 at the front end of the seat 7.
When probing the stomach wall, the device is then pushed forward accordingly. or retraction of the same possibly combined with longitudinal displacement of the fishing device together with the lever 9 while rotating the entire device around its axis, the entire stomach wall is searched. The longitudinal displacement takes place simply by pushing back and forwards the handle 5 on the pipe section 4.
If the catching head comes into the area of a foreign body in the stomach of the animal to be treated, then the magnet 25 causes the same to be attracted if it is a magnetic material. In addition, the drum basket with its prongs 216 and the drum channels are suitable for grasping the foreign bodies, even if they are not made of a magnetic material. As experience has shown, the foreign bodies, which are mostly elongated in shape, get caught in these prongs and troughs and are clamped so tightly that even foreign bodies that have firmly grown into the stomach wall are torn out of the stomach when the device is withdrawn.
After completion of the scanning, the catching head 23 is pushed completely into the cuff 3 by pushing back the handpiece 5, which now offers protection against any stripping of the trapped foreign bodies from the catching head when the device is subsequently pulled out of the feed pipe.
In and of itself only when pulling the device out of the esophagus it is necessary to encase the catch head 23 with the cuff 3, since neither protection of the catch head nor protection of the esophagus against the catch head is required when it is pushed in. The latter will be designed in such a way that there is no risk of injury when it is pushed through the esophagus. Instead of a cuff into which the catching head can be lifted by longitudinal displacement, a cuff can therefore also be used which can be slipped over the catching head from behind.
If only the foremost part of the fishing gear is to be bent sideways, then the second foremost link of the fishing gear can be omitted or it can be designed in the same way as the rearmost link.
In this case, the spring leaf 33 can be arranged centrally and the tension member 30 eccentrically at the front end member of the fishing device, since. the effect is not changed by interchanging the positions of these two parts and this only changes the position of the neutral fiber of the gear carrier, to which the tension member must be eccentric.
