Description
<B> Adjustable metal support, e.g. B. </B> for <B> building purposes </B> The invention relates to a ver adjustable metal support, e.g. B. for Baa- purposes, which rod teleskopa.rtig in an outer hollow inner rod with external thread and a sliding ring on the latter with two articulated collet members, which are releasably in engagement with the external thread of the inner rod.
According to the invention, the collet members are provided with an outer conical surface by means of which they are supported on an inner conical surface arranged with a wedge on the upper end of the outer rod, in order to keep them in their engagement position Furthermore, the collet members can be rotated on the inner cone about the rod axis in order to bring about a fine adjustment of the inner rod relative to the outer rod.
An embodiment of the support according to the Invention is shown in axial section on the accompanying drawing.
The illustrated support has two tubular rods 10 and 11 which can be moved telescopically to one another, of which the outer rod 10 at the lower end with a footplate 12 and the inner rod 11 along part of its length on the outside. a thread-like, rounded groove 13 and is provided with a support plate 14 at the upper front end.
On a housing ring 15 that is axially displaceable and rotatable on the rod 11, two collet members 16 and 16 'are diametrically opposed to one another, pivotable in an axial plane of the ring, with their upper end suspended from a respective cylindrical bead 17 or 17'. The lower end of the collet members 16 and 16 'has a certain to engage in the thread groove 13, rounded projection 18 or 18' and a conical outer surface 19 or
19 ', which is to be supported on a corresponding inner cone 20 of a ring 21 attached to the upper end of the outer rod 10, whereby the collet members with their projections 18 and 18' are held in the A grip position.
From each of the collet members 16 and 16 ', an arm 22 or 22' extends outwards through an opening 23 or 23 'in the housing ring 15, which covers the members in a bell-ax-like manner, where on the two arms there is an axial level up and down. pivotable handle 24 or 24 'is articulated. The whole support is made of metal, e.g. B. steel.
When pulling out the support described by lifting the inner rod 11 who the collet members 16 and 16 'lifted from the inner cone 20 of the ring 21 and slide together with the housing ring. 15 on the rod 11, since the projections 18 and 18 'without the lateral pressure effect of the inner cone do not find a hold in the thread groove, although the inherent weight of each collet member and its handle makes the projection 18 and 18' with the rod outer surface in contact holds.
Once the rod 11 has been pulled out to an approximately desired length, the collet members 16 and 1.6 automatically come back into firm engagement with the threaded rail 13 by being supported on the inner cone. The fine adjustment is made by rotating the housing ring 15 and the collet members 16 and 16 'relative to the rod 11 by means of the handles 24 and 24'.
Ziun pushing together the support, this is initially relieved, which can be done by rotating the housing ring 15 relative to the rod 11. The handles 24 and 24 'are then pivoted upwards into a position limited by stops, as a result of which the housing ring 15 is lifted slightly and the projections 18 and 18' of the collet members emerge from the thread groove 13. The rod 11 then slides downwards.
