The present invention relates to a lifebuoy bathing cap, characterized in that it comprises a hemispherical cap intended to cover the user's head and secured to a second cap re covering the first, and means for allowing air to be blown between the two caps in order to obtain an inflated body of spherical shape.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the swimming cap forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. is a profile view of this net voucher fixed on the head of a user.
Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the cap on a larger scale.
The fi-. is a section through line 3-3 of fig. 2.
The lifebuoy swim cap shown has a cap 1 made of rubber or a plastic material. flexible, hemispherical shape intended to cover the head of the user and a cap 2 of the same material, covering the cap 1. The latter is fixed in a sealed manner by its edge 1 'to the cap 2, for example by gluing, as shown, but the two caps could, of course, have come from manufacture, that is to say be formed from a single piece of rubber or plastic.
A flexible tube 3 is fixed to the edge of the inner cap 1 at the rear part of the latter so that it can be folded inside, as shown in FIG. 3, and to be placed behind the head of the user to a right where it does not interfere when the cap is in place. This tube 3, which communicates with the space 5, between the two caps 1 and 2, is flattened, of rectangular section, and its free end is closed by a plug 4.
One could, of course, provide a tube of different section as well as another method of closing the orifice opening into the space 5, in particular by means of a check valve of known type making it possible to prevent water from entering the space 5.
The outer shell 2 comprises ear muffs 6. from manufacture, but which could be attached to this cap. A ju gular 7 maintains the earmuffs 6 applied to the user's ears as shown in FIG. 1.
The swimming cap described has the advantage of allowing the swimmer in difficulty to quickly transform it into a lifebuoy by inflation. This operation is carried out as follows The user unhooks the chin strap 7, removes the cap, releases the tube 3, takes out the cap 4, blows air into the space 5 and then closes the tube 3 to the using the cap 4. In the inflated cap, the inner cap 1 assumes the position shown in phantom in FIG. 2, the whole having a spherical shape, the earmuffs and the chin strap extending freely to the outside.
The user can, for example, hold the inflated lifebuoy cap (containing 6 to 10 liters of air) under the chin, which allows him to keep his head above the water without performing any movement. .
Instead of being used as a lifebuoy, the inflatable cap described can also be used for recreational purposes and be used as a ball.
