Fig.2).
Contact device on a calculating machine that controls an electromagnetically operated number printing device of a typewriter It is already known to transmit numerical values keyed into a calculating machine or numerical values calculated by it electromagnetically to a number printing device of a typewriter that is locally separated from the calculating machine.
The type racks of the calculating machine are fixed during a short period of time, which can be before or after the printing of the number on the control strip, in their position to each other, representing a true, figuratively physical cliché of the number entered or the calculated sum hold.
Contact sliders are attached to the type racks, each of which establishes a connection between the digit contact bar assigned to it and the desired digit contact bar, both arranged on a common contact plate.
In their starting position, the contact wiper stands on a digit contact rail that is not occupied by a digit. The digit contacts are connected to the corresponding digit key magnets, the place value contacts to the tapping contacts on the back of the typewriter frame for the individual columns of the accounting sheet.
After a number has been keyed in, it is simultaneously on the numeric keypad magnets and the tap contacts. The advancing paper trolley of the typewriter now closes one after the other by connecting the tapped digits with a sliding contact via a busbar and a power source to the second coil lead, in the sense of falling decimals one after the other, the circuits for the numeric keypad magnets and causes the writing of the Numerical value on the booking sheet.
The device has the disadvantage that the correct value has to be entered in each booking column, i.e. the operator must, for example, if a four-digit number keyed into the calculating machine is to be written in a booking column, first press the tab key 1T so that the car can can close the prepared circuits. The necessary considerations by the operator disrupt the booking process.
The present invention relates to a contact device on a calculating machine that controls an electromagnetically operated number printing device of a typewriter by transferring the number located in the calculating machine by means of rods attached to the type tooth, which belong to these place value contact rails connecting contact grinder into - an electrical cliché translated and transferred to the typewriter recording devices in decimal places,
where prepared by the contact grinder of the calculating machine circuits for actuating the numeric key magnets by the advancing typewriter carriage attached contacts who closed, characterized in that the contact wiper are in their initial position on a numeric contact rail, which is electrically connected to the space bar magnet coil.
Based on the drawing, an overall arrangement with the inventive contact device will be explained in more detail, for example: In Fig. 1, the contact wiper 11 by the not shown type rack gene of the calculating machine on the contact plate 12; the place value contact bars 13 Lind digit contact bars 14, pushed ver in the longitudinal direction of the place value contacts.
In the example shown, there are six places before and two places after the decimal point (100T, 10T, 1T, 10'0, 10, 1, 1110, 1/100); however, according to the respective requirements, as many places before and after the decimal point can be set up as the calculating machine's capacity allows. The value contact rails are connected by lines 15 to tapping contacts of the individual booking columns I-VI attached to the rear of the typewriter.
The paper trolley 16 carries a grinder 17, which bridges the power rail located at one pole of the power source 18 and 19 -and the pick-up contacts ago. For the digits 0-9, the digit contact rails @ 14 are arranged at right angles to the digit contact rails 13 on the contact plate 12 and are connected to the second pole of the power source 18 by cables 20 via the windings of the respective digit key magnets 2.1.
In their rest position, the contact wipers 11 are located on a digit contact rail L connected to the @ \ space key actuation sink 22 through the line 23.
The operation of the device is as follows. By keying in a number, for example 536.07, into the calculating machine, the type racks and thus the contact wiper 11 are shifted, specifically the digit rail 100 is connected to the digit rail 5, the digit rail 10 to the digit rail 3, etc., respectively rend the contact wipers 11 belonging to the locations IOT, IOT and 1T are still on the rail L.
The current paths are prepared and the number 536.07 is now on the tapping contacts of every booking column Z'I. It is assumed that the keyed number should be written in the second booking column. The carriage 16 is brought to the appropriate place by pressing the tab key for the highest possible value (in this example 100T), which is specially marked, with the wiper 17 making the connection between the tapping contact 100T and the busbar 19 and thus the circuit from one pole of the power source 18 via the busbar 19, wiper 17, line 15,
Place value contact 100T on the contact plate 12, contact wiper 11, digit contact rail L, line 2 3 , space key actuation coil 22 to the other pole of the power source closes.
The current-carrying coil 22 pulls the magnetic core 24 attached under the space bar L down, and the paper carriage 16 is moved one step further. The process described is repeated here. If the wiper 17 comes into the area of the tapping contact 100, the key 5 is pressed instead of the space bar. From the gripping contact on the typewriter for the comma is closed through the line 25 directly to the solenoid 26 for the comma key.
If another number is to be written in the next column, the same process is repeated: After keying in the number into the calculator, the - tab key 100T is pressed again and the carriage continues to move through the space bar until the grinder hits the first, with a digit. It can happen that numbers have to be posted that only consist of one digit in the 1J100 position.
When this number is transferred from the calculator to the typewriter, - in all places before the comma, the space bar, then the comma key and then the space bar again. Only then is the desired number, for example 7, written. Reading this number can easily give the impression that it is not 0.0'7, but 0.7. In these cases it would be useful to always use the zero key instead of the space key for the positions 1, 1j10 and 1/100 that are not assigned a digit.
This is achieved by interrupting the digit contact bar L between the place value contact bars 1 and 10 (see FIG. 2). In the area of the place value contacts 1, 1/10 and 11100, the rail L'2 is connected to the solenoid of the zero key, while the other part L1 is connected to the solenoid of the space bar.
