Thermostatic regulating and switching devices Thermostatic regulating and switching devices in which bimetallic elements are used are already available in various designs. But wherever a relatively large control or switching path was required, the bimetallic element mostly over-worked Lever mechanisms or the like, which often led to complicated and bulky constructions.
The subject of the present patent is a thermostatic regulating and switching device of the known type with a package of bimetallic elements, the more expanding layer of element to element is alternately on one or the other side, such that the package is the add the thermally induced bulges of the individual elements.
According to the invention, the annular disk-shaped bimetal elements are axially displaceable, but non-rotatable relative to each other on a pin, and radial slots of each of the bimetal elements are rotatably offset to the slots of the adjacent elements, in order to achieve an intensive flushing of all Licher bimetal elements.
The subject of the patent is also the use of the device according to the invention in a mixer with axially movable temperature control valve element, characterized in that the package of bimetal elements is axially displaceable on an extension part of the cone valve element and by means of only one with liquid passage holes provided member acts on an annular shoulder of the movable cone valve element.
In this use, the package of bimetal elements in an excellent manner and with a significant reduction in height can replace a previously used thermostatic element, whose sen an expansion liquid-containing space is limited on its inner and outer circumference by two coaxial hollow finned tubes, as z. B. in Swiss Patent No. 312095 of the applicant is shown.
The drawing shows, for example, an embodiment of the device according to the invention and a mixer tap in which it is used.
Fig. 1 shows the mixer tap in longitudinal section, it being assumed that the bimetal elements are cold.
Fig. 2 shows the bimetal elements in the shape and position they assume when hot, and Fig. 3 is a plan view of the two uppermost bimetal elements of the package.
1 with the valve housing of the mixer tap is designated, which has an inlet nozzle 2 for the cold liquid, an inlet nozzle 3 for the hot liq fluid and a mixing chamber 4. The moveable valve element 5 has two conical surfaces 5a, 5b, facing away from each other, which cooperate with the seats 6 and 7 to regulate the flow of hot or cold liquid, the first of which is screwed adjustable into an insert of the housing 1, the second unadjustably forms part of this mission. A spring 9 is inserted between the lower end of the valve element 5 and an end cap 8 screwed onto the housing 1.
With an outlet nozzle for the mixed liquid is designated, the axis of which lies in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the drawing.
The upper end 5c of the valve element 5 located above an annular shoulder 5d is cylindrical and sits in a hollow pin-shaped part 11a of a guide piston 11 which can slide in a bore 12 of the part 7. A package of annular disk-shaped bimetallic elements 13, 14 is lined up on part 11a, axially displaceable but non-rotatable, the latter due to the fact that the central hole of elements 13, 14 and the cross-section of part 11a has a square shape (Fig . 3). The elements 13 have their more expanding layer at the bottom, the elements 14 arranged between the elements 13 have their more expanding layer at the top.
The elements 13 have radial slots 17 which are slightly rotationally offset from similar radial slots 17 of the elements 14. About the bimetal elements 13, 14 a star-shaped member 15 is arranged on the part 11a. This is supported on an annular bead 18 a of a disk 18 which is fastened centrally to a spring sleeve 19 by means of a screw pin 16. A ring 21 is screwed into the upper end of a tubular housing part 20, into which the sleeve-shaped temperature setting element 23 can be screwed by means of the grip cap 22.
The bias of the inserted between the components 19, 23, with excessive He heating and expansion of the thermostat after giving safety spring 24 is added by the snap ring 25.
The mixer works as follows: The hot and cold liquid flow in a quantity ratio determined by the position of the valve element 5 to the chamber 4, where they mix. The mixed liquid passes through the channel 26 into the uppermost part 7 from the bore 12 in which the piston 11 is guided, then through a number of holes 27 of this Kol bens to the package of bimetal discs 13, 14, then flows through with multiple deflections the slots 17 of these elements and between the elements themselves and passes through the recesses of the star-shaped member 15 into the free space under the disc 18 and finally along the inner surface of the housing part 20 to the outlet stub 10.
In the package of bimetal disks 13, 14 these bulge out; the bulges add up and together cause the control movement of valve element 5.
The mixing temperature is set by actuating the handle cap 22, which has an effect on the valve element 5 via the construction parts 23, 24, 19, 18, 15, 13, 14, 11.
